It's about time for Ben and Ciara to break up (temporarily).

Every great couple on a soap has periods where they've hated each other. Jarlena still have major arguments and temporary breakups (the Kristen incident in 2013, for example, and on a smaller scale, what just happened with Steveano). Elani overcame Lani humiliating Eli and leaving him at the alter and now they're arguing again over Kristen. Ericole break up every other week. Every major couple on the show currently have had or are having major issues except Ben and Ciara.

Ben and Ciara haven't had any issues yet. When a soap couple has no obstacles to overcome, they are weak as a couple. What makes many couples so great is their ability to overcome periods of hating each other and horrible misunderstandings. Ben and Ciara have had their obstacles and they've been separated from each other (such as when Ben went to prison when he was framed for killing Jordan), but they've never hated each other. They've been smitten with each other this whole time, and it honestly makes them really boring and impossible to take seriously. I hope soon something happens that causes them to hate each other, maybe date other people for a bit, and then eventually reconcile.

So far, the story line for them is he was a serial killer, he ended up in prison and was on death row, he got off and one day after getting a job, he proposes to Ciara with a washer instead of a ring. Yeah, enough to make any mother of the bride love him./not!

Hope is not happy about the wedding. She's just pretending to be. She still worried that Ben might hurt Ciara and is also ashamed that her daughter is hooked up with a killer.

I wouldn't say they were separated when he was in prison because in reality their breakup was just a farce and they saw each other every hour of the day.

They have overcome problems, Ciara's family, Ben's sister, the kidnappings, Claire, Ben in prison, Ben's illness, the couples can overcome their problem without hatred, and without rupture.

Perhaps Jake's incoming ex-girlfriend will be some old girlfriend of Ben's pre-Salem. Or Theo could be brought back and trigger feelings in Ciara.

I didn't see any of the s/cs ever hate each other, when circumstances tore them apart. I hated that happening every other year, or more. I would much rather
see some drama, and the couples work together to weather it.

Ben and Ciara just aren't interesting to begin with.

From what i have noticed from looking at my Twitter and Facebook TLs, seems like the fans who can't stand Cin are Chabby fans, and it goes the other way too Cin fans can't stand Chabby..

I've seen many who don't like Chabby, that hate Cin too, so that's not a working theory, IMO.

I used to like Chabby and thought the idea of Cin was good but the reality not so much. Despite shared history they are two completely different couples some hate both and some like both. If this was twenty years ago the show would've done a Ben/Ciara/Chad/Abby quad given the shared history. Ben/Abby were an item and with a dark history. Chad/Abby are an established couple. Ciara had a crush on Chad when she was younger. Abby/Ciara are cousins. Ben/Chad don't care for one another. There's the Jennifer/Hope aspect with Ciara/Abby I mean they could've done a lot storywise for all these characters if they went that direction with a good writer but instead this is what we're getting.

Right on, Skins! I cannot stand Chabby, and was looking for an alternate in the spring of 2018, or I was going to ditch. I love CIN, but I also am enjoying Ericole now....as well as Jarlena. Chabby and Elani are not for me, although Elani are extremely attractive.....

I love Ciara and Ben together. They're my favorite couple on this show. I never want to see them break up after all they have been through. Now they are engaged. I couldn't be more thrilled can't wait for there wedding ?

I wouldn't mind Ciara and Ben if they could erase Ben's serial killer history. That's a line I can't ever ignore. They're actually very cute together, imo.

I find Chad infuriatingly boring, and just don't want to see him with anyone. And I'm still sick of Abby from all of the Gabby stuff. I might need a decade vacation from her.
