Obviously the point of this is to throw a curve ball at the audience and move stories forward without all the pesky drama in the middle, more like being at the point where things can take turn, with Ben going to prison, PG still running around, Jennifer in a coma, JJ hooked on drugs and while that concept is appealing cause I don't always like sitting through the tough stuff but that's what daytime drama's all about. Going on the ride with their favorite characters and relishing in the joy they feel when they weather the storm and come out on top. I watched shows like "The Originals" and "Once Upon A Time" but those time jumps worked because primetime and daytime are different. I'll probably just step away from the show for a while. But I did read that Ben will encounter Clyde while in prison. And that's the only thing I'm looking forward to.

CLOUDFARE Security Message
Over the past few days you may have received a "Checking if the site connection is secure" message when accessing the site. This is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm.
This message indicates that the server is confirming that the SSL (the "s" that you see in the https before web addresses) security is, in fact, secure. This is not some sort of advertisement and it is not some sort of nefarious hacking.
Cloudfare, which is a provide of web hosting and security, has recently added this layer of security on the Soap Central message boards platform as an added layer of security.
The message may occur any time that your browser makes a new connection to the boards. The message may also stop appearing at any time as the process is further integrated into the boards.

It will soon become tedious if there are lots of flashbacks as we already know the outcome. It will be like watching the show on rewind!!

As a concept, it has basically already lost me with what I am hearing about in certain SLs.
For example the rumoured situation with WilSon. I understand that there are times that they feel a couple need to break up in order to work their way back towards one another however if the actual couple is not given time to settle into their relationship/marriage but get into a cycle where their problems cause them to split and either one is in a new relationship in the year then what's the point?!
I'm always going to love and believe in Will and Sonny as a couple but I've lost faith in TPTB of Days actually giving them a chance to stay in their marriage for a number of years facing and tackling their issues/problems together.
And Sonny possible in another relationship with a son of John's? Seriously?! The only saving grace would be that Will can go there as he would be related to the man!
Sure WilSon isn't like by some (which is neither here or there for me) but given with a recent poll they are still popular for others so it's enough to have them in a SL that reflects a real life issue as a gay couple.
Days human emotional SLs are so few and far between. Yes they can be controversial and sometimes even political but IMO they can work like the JJ/Theo shooting story compare to the Haley Immigration story because of the characters involved. (Even though I know that the shooting SL wasn't perfectly played out).
All Days are seemingly interested in are love triangles and revenge plots. Which I'm so bored with.

This says it all far better than I ever could. And regarding whether the time jump will work? It's being written by Ron. Ron is a total hack, which tells me everything I need to know about how this will go. The characters will be unrecognizable, the stories will lack any depth (emotional or otherwise), much of the dialogue will be incoherent, and the entire thing will be a whole lot of lost potential in the end. That's Ron, and he ain't changing.
And from your lips (well, keyboard) to God's ears regarding a potential story for WilSon down the road that's grounded in reality. We're probably going to need a new head writer for it to happen, but I'm also ready for the contrived triangles and stupid plots to be over with.

Yes it will and I'm impressed with what RC has done.

Only time will tell, but history is on my side. I hope I'm wrong, but I won't be. November and December will be good, but by the end of January the writers will have lost control of their own story. The show is not good with details, important details, that is a problem.Last edited by Cat women; November 2, 2019, 04:42 PM.

Earlier poster said it would be 2020. I didn't think soaps happened in actual calendar years, so there wouldn't be a reason to have a calendar year established. Rather, it would be an experiential year. I wish this show didn't deal so much in fantasy (i.e., Dr. Rolf, altho he is the quintessential fantasy villian, a woman who thinks she's a princess, etc.) because I don't like either fantasy OR science fiction unless it's a soap focused on that, i.e. Dark Shadows. I may just need to quit watching this show.

All the you do is freaking complain and whine like my goodness like the freaking stuff play out first and secondly y’all don’t anything about how jump will do it may do really despite y’all being so miserable and negative about it . Secondly of we will know why Ben in jail , we’ll know how Jen lands in the coma , what will leads to Lani doing the things she’ll do . We know the beginning and end of some storylines we just find the middle part of the storylines . Y’all saying this show can’t survive this just watch y’all negative Betties be wrong and the media who actually know things go down say it’s good .

Don't see why it wouldn't work. It worked fine on All My Children and they moved forward 5 years.

AMC is cancelled not exactly a good example here... you also reminded me that this has been done before in Daytime so the promo from Days saying its never done before in Daytime well that's a lie that nobody in the media has called them out on.

CanaryFan98 AMC was cancelled. Then it jumped 5 years for PP. Still, I don't have an issue with this. It beats hearing Sarah bemoan " Eric can never know" for months on end with Nicole wringing her hands about not telling Eric. ?

JackandJenfan where it was cancelled again that being said the TJ does spare us having to deal with pregnancies of Sarah and Kristen or Gabi's endless revenge plots for months on end.

If by work that it will rejuvenate the show and make it better than it was before? No. However I don't think this is something that will stick and this ends up being someone's dream in the end.
I don't mind the idea of a TJ in general but as someone else pointed out in this thread you need writers that can write this sort of thing at an intricate level and this show doesn't have that. I guess writing character driven stories in the present time within the budget that they have is too much to ask....Last edited by CanaryFan98; November 2, 2019, 11:08 AM.
