So the two of them schemed to break up Tripp and Ciara and somehow this incurs a debt to Ben?

Claire begged Ben to help her try to break up Trip and Ciara. I could tell Ben was never comfortable with Claire's plan. Plus Claire knew about Tripp trying to frame Ben she stayed quiet. Plus Ben had been hauled off to the police station Claire was only concerned with Trip. After hope grilled ben and tried to get him to leave town. Hope realized it could be Trip so Claire got Wyatt to confess. BEN figured that out very quickly where Claire's loyalty was so their alliance was over.
Right now Ben didn't look like he was on his Medications he exhibited that same paranoid behavior from the cabin. I'm sure Claire is going to run to Hope to let her know Ben threatened her.Last edited by camm; January 30, 2019, 05:54 PM.

I am curious also; why does he think Claire owes him if he was really not interested in the deal, then as a GAM he should not have let a barely out of a teen girl talk him into it. That little bitch should have told him to grow the Hell up, but she is as pathetic as they come so. Ben looked like a petulant child only thing is his evilass could take out a few people if he does not get his way. He better be popping those pills.

The only thing that Claire could possible owe Ben anything for is that he didn't tell anyone that Tripp was the one who planted evidence against Ben related to the cabin fire. But that's still pretty weak. As for Claire being the one to come with the "scheme" (it barely qualified for the term since all they really did was engineer Ciara seeing Ben more often - hardly high villainy), Ben chose to work with her and he chose to stop. Claire isn't to blame for his choices.Last edited by rkm137; January 30, 2019, 06:04 PM.

I don't think the deal did anything with how much Cin saw each other. Ciara tried to get Ben a job at the Brady Pub, but that hardly constituted manipulation. Claire broke it when she helped cover for Tripp.

JackandJenfan As I remember it, Claire lied a few times about her own and/or Ben's availability to look for a job for him in order to encourage Ciara and Ben to spend more time together and then telling Tripp it was Ciara's idea to help. It amounted to, like, one day of Ciara helping him find a job and Claire not being against Ben staying in the loft. I've expended more effort drunk priming on Amazon.

Claire does owe Ben, he didn't spill the beans...she did, and wrecked everything he had going with Ciara.Plus now that Claire is with Tripp, I wish she would stop talking about Ciara when she is with Tripp..cause if she is basing her whole relationship on what Ciara did to Tripp, the peace she has with Ciara aint going to last and I don't think a guy is worth having a fall out with a family member just cause she dated him first.

While Ciara walks in, Claire is on the phone and takes credit for her and Ben's scheming in breaking up Tiara. Never happened that way. Ben actually told Claire he was out the deal and for her to get lost at least twice before any would be scheming went on. Claire never took no for an answer and kept pretending she and Ben were a team. Ben's complaint.

He was also being very petty when he outed Ciara to Tripp. He lost Ciara, so now Claire has to lose Tripp.
Not a fan of him calling her a little bitch, grabbing her to the point where it was hurting her and then another threat. I didn't expect him to kill her and pull out his necktie, but this treatment of a young woman is vile. Especially given his history.
IDK where the writers are going with this "redemption," but I do know women were calling it "sexy" on twitter.

Neither can a handshake.

If people dont think the way he grabbed Claire and spoke to her is wrong then Im worried. I know its a soap but if somebody treated a young woman that way in real life it is not OK.

A handshake is an overture of mutuality. There is also choice involved. Claire grabbed him first, as she has done before. Maybe he was sick of her hands on him. Or maybe he was a little pissed that he took the ramifications for her conniving----conniving that he rejected, and refused to be involved in more than once. While she gets to lie in some (sickening) Tripp afterglow.....enough said. I'd just like to state, so that there's no doubt whatsoever: he should not have touched the little bitch. But, whatever. It's likely some harbinger of doom for who else? Guess.
