    Brady and Tate

I find it so annoying when they write these story lines where the parent is missing their child but the character really has no reason not to move to be closer to their child. We had to hear about it from Lucas for years and now Brady. its one thing if they are married, have a good job, or other kids in town, but Brady really has no ties to Salem now that he broke up with Eve. He's on the outs with Victor. Also whatever happened with Basic Black and Stephan buying it? Does Brady even have a job now? I missed what happened with that. I get that they want the character in Salem and to cause them angst or whatever but it still makes it hard for me to feel bad for the character when they go this route.

But who just ups and leaves everything? Brady’s life is in Salem.

Leaves what? He has no life in Salem. The only good thing he has left in his life is Tate.

He has a life in Salem. It is where he lives. As long as Brady visits his son, then that is wonderful. Agree to disagree.

I would rather Tate not be mentioned unless Brady says something like "I fly 5 times a week to be with Tate" since he certainly has the means.

As for parents with children, I am more forgiving than most around here it seems. I notice the argument of someone being a bad mother/father flung around a lot when it's a character someone hates or a pairing that is shown more than the kids of one of the pair. Like I want to watch parents raising their kids and doing the mundane everyday routine stuff.

It is kind of silly but the main reason is the character is still on the show and the kid isn’t. It would have made sense for Brady to move close to Tate but they didn’t want the character to leave.

In the old days you rarely saw the kids and they were in boarding school until they were a certain age. They could've done that with Tate rather than that lame custody battle.

I agree with this completely. Brady is supposed to be loaded. He wouldn't even have to leave Salem to see Tate more. He could rent a place in California and fly there every other week or something. It also doesn't make sense that he's mad at Eve for making him "lose" Tate, because just before Theresa left she was about to let Tate stay with Brady, but Brady said No, take Tate with you. The show needs us to go along with a lot of things that don't make sense for the sake of drama.

About Basic Black -- last week Eve said Stefan had liquidated it after he bought it, so I think there is no more Basic Black.

I agree. No one is ever seen parenting, so when the show says the parents love their kids I generally just go along with it. However, I do miss the old days when you used to see a lot more scenes with children. I think the show doesn't have the budget for it now.

Brady not going anywhere. He is going to hang around to bang Chloe and keep Eric away from Holly.

I feel like if they were gonna have Kimberly sick, that that would have been a perfect reason for Theresa and Tate to leave town. Instead of the custody battle, Theresa wanting Tate to spend time with his very sick grandmother would make total sense and something Brady would have more than likely agreed to without hesitation, cause it would be the right thing to do.

The custody case was not needed.

Pretty much but I guess they wanted to get rid of Tate.

Hmm wonder if he will get some kind of job working with Chloe. I thought children were only allowed to work so many hours on soaps because of their age.

I agree OP. It would at least be better if it was written that Brady visited Tate more often.
