  • Abby should embrace her Johnson side

Now that Kate Mansi who has kind of made a career playing dark and sinister characters since she left Days is returning, they should consider making Abby go more dark then she already is. Maybe get revenge for the supposed "cruel" stuff Gabi has done. I am a KM fan. and am looking forward to her return.

I would like to see Abby vs Gabi...it would add layers into Abby.

Revenge is for the weak. I hope Abby forgives Gabi and move on with her life.

I brought it up because Kate Mansi is at her best when playing sinister characters.

Hopefully, Skins 2008 the writers can think of a better storyline than constantly seeking revenge. Kate Mansi can be sinister for other reasons.

I want Abby to remain sweet and pure. I prefer the good vs evil instead of the evil vs evil. Besides, Abby takes after her Horton side.

Embracing her Johnson/Deveraux side wouldn't make her evil. It might stop people whining about how she's a Horton princess who never pays for her crimes though. Letting her be something other than a Jennifer clone might open up more for her character since she has genes of two parents not just Jennifer. I hate them writing Abby like she's only a Horton never acknowledging that she is also a Johnson/Deveraux - who have always been flawed individuals.

I think without her dad's presence, there is more of Horton feel...especially from her mother's side. I do want Abby to more layered....she did a excellent job...I mean with Marci, with playing Gabigail and Lauragail. This was the big storyline of 2018 and Marci could bring home a Emmy! Could also lead to Ron staying as a head writer....

I don't need or want Abby to be reduced to acting like Gabi or anyone else that seeks revenge. That's not who Abby is, and if they would do that, then they'd be trashing the character of Abigail.

But she is not just written as a Horton; she is flawed and has all sides of her lineage written in her. Abby has her sweet side and her selfish side that goes for what she wants at times it has gotten her in trouble; the incidents with Austin and EJ. She also will slap a trick when they upset her. She is nowhere near as passive as some claim or as evil as others claim. She is flawed but overall a person who I find very rootable because she shows great remorse for her mistakes and does not seem to hold on to bitterness and anger when she is wronged. She is strong enough to take down a serial killer by herself. She is far from being coddled like some claims; her family loves her as it should be. They will stand for her like they should. Just like every other character on screen with loving family members.

Abby isn’t flawed or selfish. The whole Austin and EJ thing happened when Abby was young and naive. Julie and JJ have also made mistakes when they were teenagers and they have grown and matured.

Saying she’s flawed isn’t an insult, it makes her relatable—after all everyone is flawed, no one is perfect. I find Abby’s flaws is what makes her rootable for me.

It depends on how Days was process within years. I feel that with Jack's absence, it was more of the Horton feel. And it actually is because the gathering for Christmas events, are usually in that house. The place where it all started, was in that house. Where Alice used to give advice to other characters, were in that house. Where Jennifer was, was in that house. I think at one point the Deveraux was living on their own...not sure. But if it was more, we could have seen Deveraux feel to it.

Besides, dosn't JJ already fit the bill of exploring his fathers side of the family?

I like Abby just the way she is. Gabi could be the flawed one but not my girl, Abby.

No Abby seems to be more like Jack then JJ ever was during his angry phase.

Sigh that was supposed to be the plan but then the writers decided to neuter him... I like that he matured but like every other male on this show that isn't a villain he's become emasculated.

Being a Johnson isn't synonymous with being evil.

The best revenge is living your own life and being happy, especially when it comes to people who want to see you suffer and be unhappy. Abby should just cut ties with Gabi and then move on. I'l be disappointed if they have her seek revenge.

People will still whine about Abby regardless, they just don't like her and nothing will change that. I don't think she's a Jennifer clone, but I do agree that I wish that the show would stop acting like she is only a Horton. At least she had a few scenes with Uncle Steve before he left.

                Well said!

Abby is far from being perfect. She is definitely the same girl who ended up pregnant with Chad's baby while she was dating Ben... gee.... how does that happen?

She can be impulsive, she can be selfish and she can repress her true desires. But, at her core she will always do the right thing and she never wants to see anyone get hurt. And when she does hurt other people, she regrets it and apologizes to them nonstop.

I love her as she is.

Okay, well... maybe she can stop apologizing so much.

Abby is not flawed. She is Jack and Jens daughter. She is the grandmother of Bill and Laura and the great granddaughter of Tom and Alice. She comes from a legacy family and she grew up on screen. The only flaw she has is being mentally ill which isn’t her fault. Sure, she’s made mistakes when she was young and naive but she has matured into a beautiful butterfly.

Abby's flaws are what make her so endearing and interesting. Characters without flaws are boring.

Pure? Usually pure girls don't need to take paternity tests (and I'm referring to the first one not the second one).

Being with only 3 men doesn’t make Abby pure. Pure is more of being good at heart, not the number of people she has slept with.

Exactly!! Abby will take Gabi down sooner or later but she won't do it the way Gabi tried to do it to her. She won't have to. Can't wait to see it.

I would love to see the edge with Abby I believe it would make her more interesting than ever. I don't believe people would complain. People were more surprised that she had DID...the acting was good. Maybe the reason why the ratings are down is that Abby is back to her plain self. And she has no clue that Gabi is tearing her persona apart.

Nobody wants to see Abby sink to Gabi's level. She's better than that.
