So I do feel like someday Ciara and Ben will be together. However, when I initially started watching their story I didn’t realize how long it could actually take. When they were in the cabin I thought they would get together by the end of the year. But now from reading spoilers and speculation on line it seems like it could take a lot longer than that. Personally I’m not sure how long I can wait. These two had me addicted and wanting them to be together right away. I wanted them to kiss in the cabin. I didn’t realize how much Tripp was gonna play into the story and how sporadic their scenes would be. I’m pretty addicted to them right now, so I can’t see myself giving up on them. But emotionally I’m not sure how much my heart can take.

Or maybe sooner than that. I think when CHABBY goes away, Days will focus on them.

Curious: How long have you watched soaps?
I ask because if you think this is long you never saw how couples were written back in the day with the slow burn and how they were better and more memorable that way.
Back when soaps were character driven than plot driven.
That being said while I'm not big on Ben/Ciara(I think they have chemistry but not really sure what else they have going for them) the odds are in their favor that they are dragging this out as long as they are.
Plus I don't think they saw them being this popular over Ciara/Tripp(although I never liked the pair to begin with) 6 months in advance doesn't help either. I'm sure 6 months from now Cin will be front and center taking over the Chabby spot of the show.Comment

One thing that I find strange tho is if Tripp and Ciara were intially supposed to be the story than why isn’t Cin moving faster? If Cin was just supposed to be a road block for Tiara I feel like they would have gotten physical already. Not keeping it all about emotions like they have. -

Ive watched GH pretty much my whole life tho (26 years). I wasn’t around back in the 80’s and I don’t remember the 90’s well enough to say. For me, I’m used to seeing couples come together relatively quickly. I personally think 6 months is a slow burn. I’m okay waiting until the Winter for Cin together. But some are now saying I have to wait until at least next summer. That just seems way too ridiculously long. I can’t see how they could possibly drag it out that long?
Also, I think Cin has way more than just great chemistry. I really like the storyline of them relating to each other. Both want new starts and want to be viewed differently by the outside world. They get what it’s like to be misunderstood and looked at in ways they don’t believe they are. For me, Cin is my perfect ideal couple. Which is what makes it all the more harder for me to wait for them.

I feel your pain OP! I literally am so giddy when I see them on screen and anxiously await when they will be on again..sigh! I know the spoilers dont look too good right now for Cin but I hope we dont have to wait til summer to finally see them together. I have a feeling Wyatt is the one who set the cabin on fire and if he is coming back soon hopefully that will vindicate Ben and he saves Ciars and then they will finally have their first kiss by NYE!! Wishful thinking I know lol but I gotta keep the faith!Comment

Well I predict first kiss in late November, Liz. Ben is headstrong, determined to depart Salem. Will take place where bike is parked. That kiss is the ONLY thing that will prevent him from leaving Salem. Anyone else got a prediction/scenario/venue/situation for 1st kiss?Comment

I think the first I love you will come before the first kiss. I think Ben will get shot protecting Ciara. He'll be rushed to the hospital and be unconscious and that is when Ciara will tell him that she loves him.Originally posted by Keelee View Post

You're younger than I am (31)!!! LOL. I really don't think we'll have to wait all the way until next summer. They'll certainly be cemented as a couple by then (especially with how popular they are) but I don't think it'll take that long for them to be together. I'm thinking end of the year/early next year at the latest. But DAYS has done the slow burn even in more recent years. I've likewise watched DAYS off and on for nearly 22 years (was raised on CBS soaps before that). During my teen years I watched Shelle (Shawn & Belle). They were always written as the rooting couple but it took YEARS for them to get together and stay together. Belle was at one time married to Phillip Kiriakis (Claire was initially thought to be his). Shawn was involved with Jan Spears at one point (who turned out to be a total psycho and at one point held him captive in a cage for months), and was later engaged to Mimi Lockhart (we'll see her again sometime this fall as she'll be involved in the Bonnie story). It was agonizing to watch, but worth it. And I stayed a loyal Shelle fan even through both recasts. Do I think Cin is in for THAT kind of slow burn? No way. Yeah, I really don’t hope it takes years for Cin. I don’t think I could take that. I watched Y&R for a couple years and one of the reasons why I quit was because of how they treated a couple I liked. I just felt so insulted as a viewer I couldn’t stomach sitting through the show anymore. And quite honestly as much as I liked that couple I didnt feel nearly as passionate for them as I currently do for Cin.
I can take waiting until the Winter for Cin to get together. I just hope they don’t drag it out to next summer or beyond. Not sure I can tolerate that. Even these spoilers we’re getting now is turning my stomach. I really hate Tripp with Ciara and it looks like I’m gonna have to watch even more of that. It just seems like a giant waste of time. Even if Cin will not be together romanticly for a while please at least let them spend lots of time together as “friends†getting to know each other.Comment

Its funny because before Cin I think the last time I watched Days was when Clyde, Xander and Orpheus broke out of prison together. Before Cin I usually only watched Days for their plot driven stories. So I’m still getting used to how their romances work. It’s not like I expect Ciara and Ben to be together tomorrow (although you wouldn’t hear any complaints to me if they did). I recall so many couples from the 70s and 80s, taking forever to get around to coupling.
Doug and Julie. Roman and Marlena. Bo and Hope. Sometimes they had to endure marriages to other people, and the gradual deterioration of those marriages. Kayla was married to Jack long after she knew Steve was the man for her. Jennifer nearly married someone else while Jack was feeling unworthy of her.
More recently, Abby and Chad had viewers getting impatient as Abby fought her attraction to Chad, and tried to bond with Ben.
Writers do well to whet our appetites.Comment

IMO it's in Ben & Ciara's best interest (AND DAYS) not to rush this couple like they've done in more recent years. The build-up & angst his very important for success as the fans root for & yearn for them to finally comsummate their love. As a diehard fan of Bo & Hope to this day because, to me, nothing has or will get on their level of magic & chemistry together - can't really expect that again unless Bo is brought back to close them out permanently if the show ever ends - but one of the most exciting things about them was the slow build. By they time they finally slept together it had been about 2 two years of total entertainment (oftentimes, frustration) pulling for them. With Ciara & Ben's horrible history there's PLENTY they could & need to do with him to hold these two off for quite some time. I, for one, would welcome another great, lasting couple to root for, but it's ALL about the writing which, today, might be a huge problem. Rushing them would be the worst thing they could do! Hope's involvement which she's getting bashed over for some strange reason (don't go with the "corrupt cop abusing her power" as an excuse - a serial killer trumps that EVERY time) and altho Ben's off the charts compared to Bo when he & Hope were struggling to be together early on is similar to Doug's actions then. Not sure how you redeem a serial killer, but for this soap if Ben's intended to be paired with Ciara which many fans are yearning for, the writers need to write a really indepth sl for him FULLY changing (not some heroic moment, etc.) - stay on topic about his craziness/crimes and SHOW something he goes through for a WHILE., etc. as Ciara & Ben desiring to be together. It would be worth it - believe me - to take time. If not, I do believe they'll be ordinary like most on today's show!Comment

I guess the most I’m asking for right now is Cin gets to spend more time together. We just had this giant off screen hiatus. Then we get 1 day of them spending time together and then they are getting torn apart. Even if they aren’t going to be together romanticly for the time being I wish they could just spend more time together as “friendsâ€. This constant tearing them apart since they’ve left the cabin is really getting to me. -
As for this sentence ("stay on topic about his craziness/crimes and SHOW something he goes through for a WHILE"), they're kind of doing that now with him being suspected of the cabin fire. And they're about to have Ciara really doubt his innocence after being faced with this "evidence". It's not gonna be an easy road to redemption for Ben. As RSW stated in a recent interview, it's gonna get uglier before it gets prettier. We're seeing the uglier part now.
