And just like Theo, he'll leave for a trial and we'll never see him again. RC is too predictable. Personally I never saw an effective use of Paul's character, other than to prop up John's 'mysterious' past under Stefano.

And Brady and many others
I can't believe John ever forgave Marlena for getting his son shot and temporarily paralyzed. He at least should never have been with her again though I never wanted them together at all anyway.

I don't read spoilers, so here's my guess...I don't think Paul will leave for the same reason Theo left,
I think it's being set up as Paul eventually regaining the use of his legs, faking it to hang on to Will. Then maybe Will (or Sonny) finds out and want to expose Paul as a liar, but Paul blackmails Will & Sonny about Leo, but Leo ends up being alive, rescued by Ted. Paul leaves town heartbroken with his tail between his legs.
There's a reason Paul knows about Leo. There's a reason Ted knows.

I've decided they have a book of 'story line topics' and they just pull one out and give it to a different character as time goes on.

Oh, please. Paul was never a schemer. If anyone was scheming back then, it was Will (GW!Will). Paul has never been a schemer. He has always been very straightforward in his words and actions. The closest he ever came to scheming was when he held back on telling people that he saw Will in the bar. And that was for 24 hours before he came clean. So the only fairy tale here is you trying to paint Paul as a schemer.

That would be interesting. And it wouldn't surprise me. Paul was a schemer when he came to town, willing to do whatever it took to get Sonny back. The thicker people layer on this fairy tale about how wonderful Paul is and how he's the best man ever, the more I hope he's going to remind them he's not a saint.

Lol. In the same breath you deem Saint Paul better than Wilson. Flip your own rant. You need Wilson to be the villians to hold up Placeholder Paul and make Amnesia!Horita palpable. And I'm saying this as a Will fan. SONNY IS A GOOD GUY. WILL IS A GOOD GUY. They are flawed just like Paul.

KatLovesSoaps thinking that Paul is better then Sonny and Will doesnt mean I see them as villians I never said they were.
I dont need to hold Paul high, he is flawed but his characterization speaks for itself. Blackmailing Wilson or withholding info about his condition to keep Will will be a gross mischaracterization. And that's from years of him being on this show. People have constantly tried to attribute misdeeds or ulterior motives to Paul that has never materialized onscreen.

Again flip it. Thinking Sonny (or Will) are better doesn't mean Paul's being called a villian. Pointing out Paul's flaws, misteps (and there have been many throughout the triangle saga), holding him accountable for his own actions and not walking on the Pity Paul Parade isn't villifying him. Will and Sonny deciding they shouldn't be together at present wasn't them pretending to be chivalrous and patting themselves on the back. None of that actually happened but it hasn't stopped you grossly micharacterizing them and their intentions. Attributing things that didn't materlizae on screen either. What we saw was two heartbroken people trying to do what they thought was right.

There is nothing in Paul's character that makes him capable of any of this. HE IS A GOOD GUY. Not a saint but a good guy and I don't see him blackmailing Wilson over something he was willing to help with(Leo). And he's not going to withhold walking to keep Will. Hes already said he would gave him up. They written Paul in character.
Pointing out a character's flaws does not mean that he is being viewed as 'evil' or wicked although I think WilSon have been casted in the role of the wicked twosome!
I've never stated that Paul is a truly bad guy, just that his wrongdoings get overshadowed because of anything that Will or Sonny does is so bad.
When Paul arrived in Salem and discover Sonny there, even when he found out that Sonny was married/involved in a serious relationship, Paul STILL pursued him. His fans can dismiss this all they want but he DID NOT CARE that Sonny was in a marriage. Paul could probably see that Sonny was showing signs of some unhappiness and tension give what was going on with the WilSon marriage at that time. So IMO Paul thought their was an opportunity for him and Sonny to maybe resume what they had previously had and he was continuously showings Sonny he was a viable option.
You say at this present time Paul is being written in character and if he were to be try to hold onto Will in any deceitful way then that would be wrong. Well maybe you can try to understand why us WilSon fans have said this repeatedly about both characters at various times. Starting with Will and the unseen ONS in California. Infact both ONS. It shouldn't have happen. So many ways to have written angst for them. And IMO because of Sonny's history with Paul, then it really should have been Sonny that had gone into an affair with Paul given their emotional connection and issues with his marriage to Will. Even Sonny's parents went through a similar scenario early in their marriage so if some saying regarding Will that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree then the same could have been said for Sonny. Of course I wouldn't have wanted this to happen but would have rather this than the character assassination of Will to make him become a male version of his mother just because of GW being in the role.
There are NO villains in this love triangle. Simply three flawed characters who have all been selfish at times.

Thinking that Paul is better then Will and Sonny doesn't mean I see them as villians. When I think of villians I think of Stefano. I agree that GW/Will took a beating with the writers but Chandler coming back doesnt erase that. That's still Will and if Wilson cheats in the future besides what theyve already done, well that's sadly in character. Though I see it as going backwards considering all we've seen from Will since he came back.
I also know that Paul was no boy scout when he first arrived, hence me saying he's not a saint. But Sonny was no innocent either as he was definitely gaving Paul signals and emotionally involved with him. The Wilson marriage was a
mess, both Will and Sonny were involved with Paul in different ways.Last edited by VWD; September 15, 2018, 11:08 AM.

I wasn't trying to say that what GW did in the role should be erased with CM's return as Will. Again I'm talking about the out of character writing that happened with GW playing Will and the Will fans have had to face that it is now written in stone that this is what Will is going to forever be. A Cheater.
So if Days decide to have some balls and write Paul as scheming to keep Will with him knowing that Will wants to be with Sonny then I guess the Paul fans will have to deal with that.
However I seriously doubt that Days are gonna do this so you can rest assure that wonderful Paul will not doubt find the strength to not only break up with Will but also tell WillSon that he is fine with them while making sure they feel incredibly guilty as he leaves Salem, reassuring them that it isn't about them, when of course they will no doubt be blame by at least Brady (and the Paul fans) for Paul going.
And just to say that me saying that there was NO villains is the insinuation that if there is any mention of Paul's flaws then it because it's being said that he is being painted as a villain which bring me to why you felt the need to say about Sonny not being innocent when I clearly stated that all three characters have flaws? And I did mention about Sonny being emotional involved and connected to Paul due to his problems in his marriage with Will so again no showing Sonny as a innocent guy!
