ARTICLE: Ex-Jack Deveraux cut from big Hollywood movie

Steven Wilder Striegel who played Jack Deveraux in the late 90s had his short scene cut from the upcoming Predator reboot movie after actress Olivia Munn one of the the stars of the movie discovered he was registered sex offender and reported it to the studio.Steven Wilder Striegel is said to have pleaded guilty to risk of injury to a child and enticing a minor by computer after he faced allegations that he attempted to lure a 14-year-old into a sexual relationship and spent 6 months in jail for the crime he plead guilty to. The director of the Predator reboot movie Shane Black after reading reports and affidavits has since apologized for hiring Striegel who was a friend and claims that Striegel had mislead him on the severity of his crime.

Oh wow, since he is using a different name, I didn't make the connection. I had wondered what happened to the actor. Very sad and disturbing.

The most disturbing part is that the director was aware that he was jailed and hired him anyways. It was the studio execs that made the decision to cut him from the movie after Olivia Munn found out he was a registered sex offender and went to the studio to report that news. The director put her in a very awkward position. And for what, a few short scenes where he was making unwanted advances to Munn's character.
