I too am happy! John and marlena have always been fan favorites and it proves they still have it. I am sure the arrivals of kristen, susan, and sami also helped. As well as people knowing in advance that someone would be shot!

The ratings are still bad vs the key demo. So maybe the key demos may save Days in the long haul....I really don't know what to say....eventually Days might change head writers soon.

I have to agree and the ratings are down on the same week last year. Now the wedding is over it all feels a bit flat again.

I thought the wedding actually aired the week of Aug. 27-31? I think the ratings will be higher that week.

Daytime has changed on all levels. Not just Day's not just soap operas. Also there are many ways to watch shows hulu on demand network apps online ect. Honestly if you look at days ratings not compared to the other soaps but other NBC daytime shows they're not doing bad. Plus tho everyone complains about lack of budget, they stay on or under budget for production and aren't over spending or costing nbc money. Also people say we need a new writer but i don't agree. Days was in a bad place way before rc came in it was at a all time low getting under 2million viewers a day. He turned the show around improved it He may not have the huge boost everyone was expecting when he was at gh. But gh was in a better place then days and has a different budget. The biggest and best thing Ron's days reboot has done that others have not is maintaining the viewers and ratings. And that's the most important part. Instead of gaining 1million viewers and the going on a down hill is rebounding and keeping viwers. Days is in agood place to grow more. And as long as NBC still gets a profit days is safe

Good post! People need to realize that every storyline will not soar as high and be appreciated by a lot of viewers but Ron Carlivati has positioned "Days" for continued growth. Now if we can just get those "fair weather" friends/viewers to watch every day!

Thank you and exactly! The shoe is better then when Dena was at the helm. And yes not every story will be a 100% audience pleaser. The show is balanced more well written and produced. The ratings have rebounded and are staying steady. That's important

Nice spin and DAYS needs a LOT of positive comments! If these ratings really mean anything the show is not better off than it's been in recent years (to compare it to Dena - she totally flopped twice as Head Writer & pulled DAYS to the bottom for the first time in history - is such a low bar even I could make the ratings look good LOL)! Until DAYS passes the No. 3 spot as they did when Bo & Steve blew back into town & holds for a while - takes over that position - they really haven't recovered from the cellar! These numbers are about the same as they've been in the last several years (1.4 something to 1.5 something - an occasional 1.6 that doesn't stick) and RC's "reboot" really hasn't done anything to KEEP this show getting stronger from what I've been reading. They keep fluctuating with these same numbers (demos don't seem to change a lot either for all they claim that's worth)! NBC may be happy with DAYS because that's their only daytime serial & it may be safe from year to year, but don't act like it's doing great when it's not - really. I don't care whether it stays or goes since they've ruined my faves & I don't watch, but propping something that's not worthy is misleading IMO!

Not great when you compare it to last year, but it helps. I was hoping the wedding would pump up the ratings and it did. I don't know if this is the actual wedding, but the wedding planning, the date seems from shows two weeks ago.

I'm certainly aware the show "has driven many fans away - that's not rocket science - and I never said it was "JUST Bope & Ejami" fans. There're definitely other reasons - weak/lame story telling, pulling away from family & family values, neglecting friend/family interaction especially with the vets, criminals becoming leading romantic figures, NO quality, slow-building LOVE stories, using most of the vets as props & given no worthy dialogue, tossing the show's recognition to push characters favored by tptb - those are some of the many reasons DAYS sits alone on the bottom of the ratings & lives on life support from year to year! BTW, I'm not "wanting to see cancellation" either - not my concern since I don't actually watch anymore (only read because I was a part of this audience for over 40 years & invested in characters still there they've since ruined to watch)!

As for Bope & Ejami Bo (and Steve) returning about 3 yrs. ago DID actually pull DAYS from the bottom and passed No. 3 GH for the first time in a LONG time (don't have stats in front of me but KNOW that happened)! In my most humble opinion had they been able to keep Bo there & give him quality story material unlike what he'd been getting before he chose to leave the show (backburner/propping stuff) this show would've had a better chance of gaining & STAYING stronger. E.J. may be able to help as well IF the writing was more spread around! Steve, as popular as he was w/Kayla, was his best when Bo was around. Maybe had they let him have a memory or two of him on occasion, with Hope, would've helped instead of totally separating them to let Rafe take her over from the moment Bo was buried! Just more lame writing!

The writers just don't seem to know how to reach the whole DAYS audience and rather than embrace something that "might" help using sensitivity, believability, & familiarity, they could've kept the popular things strong rather than act like they never existed. Seems they feel they're threats to what THEY want rather than something they could take advantage of! Research & using some of the popular things would go a long way in helping rather than reinventing everything - tossing aside history - to suit THEIR agendas. The ratings seem to be speaking volumes! JMHO!
