  • Kristin is a cartoon

REALLY??? SH is already being written a super annoying, gun toting, crude horn dog. And she's got serious man hands.

The show has been campy for years.

This whole story is cartoonish. I remember the early days of Days - good show - good stories. Now - not so much. And the one really good story they could go with - Ben and Ciara - is back burnered for this stuff.

Kristen is not campy and neither is this story compared to others in the past.

Shouldn't Kristen be avenging her father that Hope murdered?

She’s not sure if he is alive or dead. Kristen said that Stefano came to see her while she was recovering, but wasn’t sure if it was really him or not. The show treats Stefano’s death as ambiguous.

Kristen always did off the wall things.

I agree this whole thing is vintage Kristen. However, I did feel like Stacy Haiduk was a little over the top yesterday. The great thing about Eileen Davidson is she could do the crazy, but keep it subdued, even elegant. She had more complexity and less cartoonishness. I wish Stacy had dialed it back just a couple of notches and been more intense, instead of just frenzied. Overall I think she's doing a fantastic job.

I agree so much with this. She's doing great, but at the same time the longer this thing went on the more frenzied she got. I think maybe she didn't spend enough time studying Kristen like she did Susan.

Agreed. I just don't think certain roles should be recasted. The role of Kristen Dimera is one of them. Eileen gave Kristen the character that she had- she sort of invented it and she really felt it. I don't think anyone can play Kristen to the same caliber. It's too versatile a role compared to Abby or another character to be recasted. I don't think they should have. But im here for this wedding stuff... its sort of classic days so il'll take it.

Yes, Kristen is cartoonish and so is Susan. However, I buy into SH's Susan, but not her Kristen and vice versa, I buy into ED's Kristen, but not her Susan.

I hope they keep SH's Susan and let Kristen return once ED chooses to return.

Yep. The Dimeras in general are just straight up cartoons. But then we got Bonnie and Hattie and Susan and the show is quite full of that kind of stupidity. Ron's favorite kind of characters unfortunately.

I'm not enjoying Kristen this time. I wish they'd waited until Eileen Davidson was available to be honest.

ED chose to retire. It's not that she's unavailable.

She didn't retire she actually wanted to do this story but supposedly Y&R wouldn't let her. I do think ED will be back as Kristen though.

No, she didn't retire. According to her she's taking time off to be with family for awhile.

I only saw Eileen Davidson once as Susan. Never as Kristen. ED was painfully hard to watch as Susan. I'd never seen her in these roles before. However, I am thoroughly enjoying SHaiduk (sp?) in these roles. She is fantastic!

I have thought the same thing. Keep them both.

Terileeh and brickee, am in total agreement. IMO, I was embarrassed for Kristin (ED) when she played Susan. I tolerate Susan played by SH. But no way, is SH holding a candle to ED as Kristin. I almost can't bear to watch.
