Can we at least get in 1.60's???? I will be okay with this! I feel like...yes, times are changing, but the viewers wants certain characters back, which is no longer on our screens!

My question to you is, WHO DO YOU WANT BACK? This may help with the ratings...for instance, long term for Sami Brady!

I am glad that Jack is coming back!!!! I am always happy to see Sami but I know Ali doesn't want to due Days full time so I can deal with 5 to 6 weeks a couple times a year LOL. What I don't like is the way they are dealing with actors who have been on the show for awhile ie Stephen Nichols and Bryan Datillo. I do understand with Stephen he initially did not accept the offer given to him so I am just hoping that he will be back once the writes know they can write for him. As for Bryan I am still not clear exactly what is going on do they just decide they aren't going to write for him? I also understand that at some point the "younger" crowd will take over so I am fine seeing my favs from the 80s and 90s less just please show loyalty to the ones whom have shown loyalty to you.

Hmmm.....Not good. Hopefully the wedding brings things up next week. The last three or four weeks have really turned viewers off.

When I see someone in a long peasant dress in the middle of summer, hair pulled back in a granny bun accepting an engagement ring from a guy who looks 20 years younger than her, I'm bored. CIN is the only storyline that held my interest this summer.

It's up 37,000 from last year. Also, Y&R and B&B were down as well, not only Days.

Ratings aren't bad because people want 1 character to return. Ratings are bad because the interest in soaps just isn't there. The average age of a soap viewer is over 50 and the generational watching thing has been nixed.

More and more people are watching for a couple or a for a favorite character. There just isn't a high interest in the entire ensemble and with internet clips people don't feel the need to tape the show and will just watch what they want online.

You are probably right about this. I think I’m a few years the compromise with keeping Days is that it will be online only for streaming and this isn’t a bad thing.

So many shows are streaming only and do well, some are dropped all at one time but there are shows dropping episodes weekly. I can see where it gets to a point the Days goes streaming only with hiatus between “seasons”. I think all soaps will transition to this eventually, but it keeps them alive so I can accept it. I’ve had Days my whole life, would be weird if show was gone completely.

I just can't watch I hope the last few weeks with the wedding brings it up. It just what has been happening on the show has been turning viewers off I am one of them like I know I will be back to not watching next week.

So many viewers tune out, for different s/ls they don't like, and only watch parts of the show at times. I guess that effects the ratings, but I don't know
how the ratings are measured, now. It's just not possible to like a lot of the show now, from my own experience and what I hear others say.

I’m mostly just sick of this Chad/Abby/Gabi garbage. They’ve had Gabi interloping for that pairing forever now. Will it go on until Days ends! Sick and tired of it! Free Gabi! It seem like this Chabby third party interloping thing has eaten up the show and it’s ridiculous at this point really.

Right now, I see online how people are fed up with doppelgängers and this Chabby/Gabi ongoing crappy storyline that’s on the verge of seeming like a cartoon with the looney behavior of the women and Chad looking checked out. It’s all eating up the show and these writers need to change things up and soon. These ratings seem worse than DH’s run!!

I can’t think of a time when I’ve been less interested in the show. It’s a sad state of affairs when the most compelling, interesting and likeable character is a convicted serial killer. There isn’t another storyline that interests me in the least. Even in the case of Ben Weston it’s hard to get past the fact that he’s murdered people so I don’t think I would ever buy into a total redemption storyline, he’s just entertaining right now and the best thing the show has to offer.

Nope - just Bo for me! He's the only returnee that would bring me back to the audience but ONLY with proper, quality writing! THAT'S a HUGE problem here IMO!!

Maybe that Bo & Hope were once the face of Days. They were number at couple of times on surveys. They are the most remembered with the 80's love scenes.

Thx, "tiff"! Bo & Hope are actually, still, the "face of DAYS". to most longterm fans & even folks who didn't watch the show! They, along with Julie & Doug, are on the cover of DAYS "45th anniversary" book as their signature couples, so that history is very powerful to this day for those who've know DAYS over the years (and, like you, know some of the background of the "glory years")! What you saw in the 90's PALES into what this magical couple brought to this show! And, yes, DAYS had some other amazing couples as well - was famous for them - but for the majority none topped Bo & Hope!

Yes, Peter Reckell, is still very popular and wished back by MANY viewers (former & present). He's truly a difference-maker! Still hold out he'll make some return visits is not full time! It would ALWAYS be a asset IMO!
