Unpopular opinion - I couldn't care less about John and Marlena wedding

Honestly, I don't know if there's such a thing anymore as an unpopular opinion. You're guaranteed to have some people agree with you almost no matter what you think.

But with that said, I am neutral-to-positive about the Jarlena wedding. I'm not a huge Jarlena fan and I don't get all the feels from seeing them get married, BUT I appreciate the rich history their relationship brings to the show and how it's going to bring all these other characters I care about into what promises to be an exciting storyline.

For anyone who was watching in 1986 this is also a trip down memory lane. That's part of the fun for some of us.

I hate all things Jarlena. I respect their fans but I hate the pairing, I was an OG Roman and Marlena fan and never forgave Jarlena for the way they treated OG Roman. I also hate the way they act together all the moaning and face eating is gross imo , I hate they are getting another wedding with this kind of hoopla that should be reserved for a young exciting couple on the rise, not these two old people. jmo

Jarlena are the biggest snoozefest on the show I celebrated when they were fired but this wedding is brilliant for all the people on the margins like Susan and Sami.

I could care less about the couple. I really do not care for John at all. I suppose the long time fans have an interest. Just gives me a reason not to watch and go do housework.

I was never a fan of this pairing their other relationships were way better. However I do like that its at least honoring a couple that has been around for decades and includes what we love about soaps: family, friendships, romance, mayhem etc.

So for that I'm actually liking this. Also anything is better than some of the other storylines that are currently on at the moment( DID story)

I am with you in not caring about this wedding at all. I have zero desire to see it. I never was a fan or got their appeal.

I don't get why Steve would be standing up for John (like WHAT?) and Susan is such a clown character that I just can't enjoy in any capacity.

I was over Sami awhile ago and the thought of EJ returning makes me want to vomit.

So I'm not tuning in this week personally.

HOWEVER I know it's a nice thing for a lot of people. I know they have a lot of fans and people are excited about seeing a lot of this stuff. It may not be my cup of tea but to those who are loving it-good for them.

Total boredom - do the writers need a "filler" because they can't come up with anything more exciting? It's ridiculous - she is giggling and primping like a teenager. I'm sorry, maybe I am missing out on something - but if I was with someone whose every sentence was filled with flattery, I would lose my mind. Between Steve and his constant drivel of "sweetness" and how beautiful Kayla is, etc, and John's ad nauseam nonsense, I'm doing way too much fast forwarding. Sorry to those who love these two couples, but I could definitely live without them.

Thanks for saying couldn't instead of "I could care less". Huge pet peeve of mine. I've never been a Jarlena fan, but I am interested in the other drama that's supposed to happen with the guests.

My sentiments exactly, Jolu. That being said, I also share CATC's sentiment above: I am neutral-to-positive about the Jarlena wedding. I'm not a huge Jarlena fan and I don't get all the feels from seeing them get married, BUT I appreciate the rich history their relationship brings to the show and how it's going to bring all these other characters I care about into what promises to be an exciting storyline.

It will also give both DH's meaty material to sink into with Marlena's rumored condition as a result of the shooting. So for that reason alone, I will be tuning in and just fast-forwarding through the actual wedding vows stuff. But I do wonder, do Jarlena actually make it to "I do" before everything that is supposed to happen happens?
