Stefan Having Abby's Medical File

This is just speculation: as I mentioned in another thread, I have a feeling that Stefan, in the process of looking through Abby's medical records, will discover that the baby is really Chad's. Maybe a hard copy of the test results was placed in Abby's folder, and the file duplicated, before the sealed envelope was delivered to Kayla's office for Abby. I don't think Gabi had Abby's file, and she probably wouldn't think or have time to look at it anyway. So even if she went into the computer and changed the results, then printed out a new copy, the original hard copy would still be in the file. And since Stefan has a duplicate of the file, he would have a copy of the original results.

If this turns out to be the case, it will be interesting to see what Stefan does with this knowledge.

If Chad & Abby are leaving together, then most likely, yes to your wonderful theory. It could be possible. It could be possible too, with might be recent events, that Abby could be sick and changes things to ease Chad’s mind...that the baby is really Stefan's.

This is what I was thinking also. However, I don’t think Stefan will care and will continue to say that the child is his.

OK, as Abby's doctor, she doesn't know what's in her file, yet, Stefan who isn't a doctor will know what's in there? OK, then if that's believable then so should the baseball scene that some claim never happened, actually happened!

This is happening on screen not like the baseball memories. Kayla may not have viewed all the files yet. But this can be believed because we see it happening.

We saw Gabi and Chad high school days where Gabi hated baseball. But that is a part of their history now so it is kind of a moot point. Nothing really came of it anyway, except Gabi purposely missed Stefan’s head with the wine glass because she was a perfect pitcher in high school

This brings up a good question. Did Gabi just changed the paper copy that was in Kaylas office and not on the computer? Did Kayla even look at the results? I thought the envelope was sealed when Abby opened it in the park with Gabi which means Kayla wouldn't have seen the results so all she would have to go on is what Abby told her. If Kayla looked on the computer she would have seen it was Chads.

Or did Gabi change it on the computer, if so they sure didn't increase the hospital's computer security after Tripp/Kayla incident!

Kayla's a doctor so she should have seen the results before Abby even saw them. She would be the first one to know what the results said long before Abby or Gabi even known. In this day and age, Kayla would have been emailed the results by someone who worked in the testing department and she would have been the one who emailed the results to Abby or printed them for her. There is absolutely no way that Gabby would have even been able to see the results before Kayla ever saw them. We don't live in the age where things are even printed out anymore and most hospitals don't even have paper copies of patients records anymore since they are computerized.

So that would not be the lab’s responsibility? And if Gabi changed the results in the computer, how would Kayla know that it was Chad’s baby originally?

I worked in a hospital and I can tell you from personal experience that security is so very tight and that Gabi would not have been able to change the results in Kayla's computer without knowing without a doubt what the password is. The hospital I worked at informed security whenever anyone typed in an incorrect password on the first try and you got locked out of the system until security reset the password with you around to do it. Gabi would have had to have time to hack into the system which is almost impossible to do and change the file. I guess she could have got in touch with Rafe who worked for the FBI at one time to find out how to do it but Rafe would have figured out what she was up to and stopped her. I just find it unbelievable in this day and age for Gabi to change the paternity results without setting up all kinds of red flags everywhere in the hospital especially with Kayla being chief of staff and having complete control of any computer stuff in the hospital.

The bold/underscore solved the answer to the question bc it was shown on screen that after that incidence it was clearly noted that something like that would never happened again! Therefore, if there's something in her medical record proving Chad is the dad, then it's another infamous OUT given to Abby!

Actually, I'm more incline to believe this is all a dream, hence why we haven't seen, at least, one flashback of Gabriella changing the test, as was rumored in the beginning of this story! Same as when it was spoiled that Abby's alter murdered Andre then it was Abby and then back to her alter and was changed numerous times b4 we saw on screen that it was Abby that murdered Andre!

Personally, I truly couldn't careless, I just want this story to be over and done with so I can finally see Gabriella out of their orbit! I'd add, Stefan but it seem this is his destiny until C&A are finally and permanently off my TV screen!

I'm pretty sure the show has NEVER shown us how Gabi changed the results, which is one of the irritating things about this storyline for me. As a viewer, I'm willing to go along with a lot of unbelievable stuff for the sake of a storyline, but you have to at least give me a semi-plausible explanation of how something happened. We never saw Gabi change it on the computer. We didn't see her open the envelope, or somehow replace the opened envelope with an unopened one that contained the results she wanted to be seen. It's lame.

But Kayla did not see the results before Abby. Kayla did not know the results until Abby told her Stefan was the father and Kayla said, "I'm sorry". We've seen many times that there's a huge difference between hospital protocol on "Days" and the way it works in real life.

I came up with my theory because it seems to me there has to be a reason that they're showing Stefan reading Abby's file. I would think there has to be info in there that will get his attention/shock him and drive more story. It would be kind of ironic if Stefan is the one who discovers the truth before the baby is born. What would he do with the information? Would he stop caring about the baby and Abby? Would he let Abby continue to believe he's the father just to stick it to Chad? Would he blackmail Gabi knowing that she must be the one who changed the results? (That would make 3 women he's blackmailing at the same time!). Would he conspire with Gabi to break up Chad and Abby? I'm curious to see what Stefan would do if he is in fact the one who discovers the truth before anyone else. JMO.

I can definitely see him figuring out that Gabi changed the file and blackmailing her. I could also see him figuring out that the hospital computers may still show Chad as the father and he either gets Kayla to change it or finds someone's else. Would hope Kayla wouldn't go that far!

You're right -- of course we saw Gabi open the envelope. That's how she knew about the paternity.

But anyway, I agree with your theory completely!! The whole point of Stefan blackmailing Kayla for the medical file can't just be to show him throwing his weight around. There's got to be some story that comes from this.

Here's my guess: If and when Stefan finds out Chad is the father, he will still care about Abby and the baby because he's obsessed with Abby. He just wants her (and her baby, even if it might be Chad's). He'll still want her to believe he's the father. And he'll want to blackmail Gabi to break up Chad and Abby for good.
