I like Claire but I wouldn't insult her by comparing her to Sami. I actually believe as self absorbed as Claire can be she does seem to care about others.

Great description of the character! And as someone else pointed out earlier, as self-absorbed as Claire is, she does care about other people. She showed genuine concern when Ciara was missing.

I agree with both of you. Claire works hard and seems to have generally good intentions and care about people's feelings. It's also nice to see the child of all these wealthy people actually work at a job.

Same here. Sami is my least favorite character in the 40+ years I've been watching. Yet I like Claire. She has some objectivity about her own shortcomings, which is more than many other characters in Salem display. She's a sane, normal young woman, except that she tends to seek the advice and counsel of her elders. She's a lot more respectful of age and experience than Ciara, and not as headstrong and impulsive.

She's a schemer, yes. Given an angle, she'll play it. I would say that's customary if not obligatory practice in Salem.

She's in a dynamic rivalry with Ciara, and those things tend to polarize people, so most of us are either loving or hating her, but I don't see anything at all abhorrent in Claire.

Yes Sami is repulsive in general to me. Sure Claire can be bratty but she at least acts her age Sami is a grandmother and she still acts like Claire does now but 10x worse.

I was thinking the writing was letting her mature a little, but she took a big step backwards with the being ok with Ben moving in, thinking
that Tripp will turn to her. She never seemed more immature. I hope the writing does better for her in the future.

Claire is just okay. She’s at the end of her teen years and is coming a long way. She’s getting better, but not there yet. Hopefully Tripp will see her differently one day if Theo doesn’t forgive her and return one day. Right now, she’s improving and becoming less annoying, but she’s still too young to me in many ways, lol.

Sami and Claire aren't even comparable. I don't necessarily dislike Sami, but you can't deny how selfish she's always been. I don't think Claire is close to Sami's level.

Coming out the bushes to say i like claire as well!! I love that she is who she is. Im actually starting to like ciara too now that they arent running over claire to make ciara look good. I love that claire works hards for what she wants and that she seeks advice from her elders. I wish they would give her an actual love interest she deserves her own true love story!

I have always loved Claire. She's a scheming, fairly intelligent, self-absorbed, unique little little creature. She lacks the blend of admirable/detestable qualities that a character must molt to rationalize their behaviour from time to time. Claire only invests in her own satiety, to hell with anyone else! And to anyone that thinks that Ms. Keegan can't act--she not only held her own yesterday in scenes with RSW, she dominated them.
