I've been elected Mayor. Thanks to all 2 of you who voted. It was greatly appreciated and this honor I will exploit for all it is worth.


So spoilers are light for the next couple weeks. I expect a drought. John/Marlena stuff is going to be heavy for awhile and then of course Sami is back and she'll no doubt suck up a ton of airtime as will Kristen/Susan.

Today ended with a cliffhanger so Monday is probably it for awhile.


Spoiler for Next Week (August 20)

• Ciara blasts Hope for trying to run Ben out of town

We know Claire supposedly goes missing so they may play into that but chances are probably pretty good we'll be lucky to see them much before September.

Moving on from that depressing front is the possible concern that VK and RSW haven't been taping all that much together. I've seen the rumblings on Twitter.

Clues are that RSW taped a ton the week VK was in Greece and it seems that since that period of time they are off the same taping schedule. He seems to be appearing on days KM is (who happened to be in a "Gabby" wig today) and we see vids of VK at home or places not at the studio and when she's at the studio RSW appears to seen elsewhere.

Thoughts? Speculation?

They are most likely taping Februaryish at this point (INSANE to think about really) and that is so far out that it is truly hard to think what this all means.

We do know Jordan is returning. Some think she will be totting Rafe's kid with her. Not sure how that translates to anything Ben related but of course they'll share scenes. My concern is more that RSW and KM are appearing to be on set the same days. Obviously Abby's alters are coming back hence the whole Gabby wig thing so does that play into Ben somehow?

Can they please keep Ben and Abigail AWAY from one another. They already had closure to their drama on the day of her wedding. I don't need their past connection revisited for anything. I'd like to enjoy Ben's renewed stint on the show, with ANYONE else but Chabby.

Lots of speculation. There may be just some serious coincidences! I know KM and RSW are friends but thought it was rather interesting they always seem to be working on the same days while RSW and VK aren't.


I do agree Ben/Abby need to stay separated. Ugh.

This flipping sucks if KM and RSW are back in each others orbit!! They need to be far away from each other. I understand if somehow Ben is only person who can fight Abby alters to save her. I thought Ben was being redeemed. Guess they are on path to destroy everyone in their orbit except Stephan who always comes on top without any consequences! They better not have them in any scenes except to make peace with each other!
I guess its true the writers don't care for this show and want it cancelled. The only reason this show is on fire is because of cin from what I read on Twitter. So many people left and came back for the Cin love story. Sounds as if they don't care at all. I'm done.

Well if KM and RSW work together only for him to help her get the PROPER care and help she needs because he feels responsible for her snapping then that's ok. Or if it ends up he figures Abby kidnapped Ciara then I will be patient. There better be nothing romantic Or left over feelings from either of them. Babby is done!! They had their chance. cin deserves a chance without a triangle and with idiots not even giving Ben a chance to prove himself. Abby has enough male attention so now it's chad Stephan and RSW orbit. Ugh this is going to be a nightmare for everyone. The whole point is to redeem Ben not ruin him again!!! Ciara and Ben are it for me. If they are teasing us and Cin isn't going to happen and Rope and Tripp never letting them ever have a moments peace or a moment alone I'm not here for that.

But I heard that Jordan and Ciara have shared screens since her return. So if they arn't in scenes together at least they're in eachothers obit yet.

i think it's possible that something bad happens to Abby and she has a mental break and that her alters blame Ben so they take Caira as punishment. It would make sense because that could get her and Chad off canvas for awhile.

Oh I hope your right wheels. I was hoping Clyde would take ciara though. As long as Cin are still together and a item but just separated due to kidnapping by either Abby Clyde or anyone I can tolerate this not taping.

Ckg1. I swear if Babby get back together or Cripp there is no fast forwarding for me. I'm will be officially done with this show. There is no storyline keeping me here except Cin.
If they screw this up, flirt with getting are couple together only to rip them apart that quickly then that's just really rotten for writers to do. I'm already freaking out and doing knee jerk over reaction. I am ready to stop watching now. Its just going to rip our hearts out if Ben and Abby reunite. Even Cripp had longer time together! Its going to be atleast 3 months before Ben and ciara even get a chance. So I'm guessing its better to not get hopes up or invest in this adorable. incredible couple.

I think he has to reconcile the Abby part of his past. Part of him (I hate to say it) might still love her. It's part of the redemption package. He has a lot to make up for. We wanted a slow build, and we're getting it. But the discussion between Ben and Claire opened Ben's mind to his own feelings. But before they can come together as a couple, much has to occur, and I agree with that.

Well thanks Cin City mayor/OP, this doesn’t sound too good for hopes of Cin. Cin City may not even be happening. Now as for the possibility of Ben with KM’s Abby..........no thanks and done with it. I actually don’t really like RSW and KM or MM for that matter together, not then and not again. I really want him with VK!! Why Abby I wonder and then she’ll have Thomas? The new baby? What about the great Chabby’s fate...I can see I’ll be tuning out of that and even RSW might not keep me interested. It all doesn’t sound promising, but we’ll see. Just cannot take the Abby thing anymore!

Well let's not abandon the city just yet. I do think we aren't 100% sure what is going on and there are some unknown days.

What is note worthy though so that it seems that VK is posting stuff showing she's at work on the days we see RSW is not and vise versa. But maybe something has happened to Ben or Ciara or them. Maybe they are broken up at this point or Ben is being pulled into Abby's crazy mess games. LOL. Who knows. It's too early to desert our town but something we'll have to keep in mind as we move forward.

agree 100 percent on all of this. I strongly disliked Abby chad and Ben nightmare back then and despise it even more now. He does need to atone to Abby but one conversation is all they need. I do not want Ben giving those hot smouldering looks and gentle touches to anyone except Ciara and I never want to see Ciara looking at anyone the way she looks at Ben. I am not patient viewer and if they are really going through with no Cin I'm out now. I'm not going to get my heart ripped apart for the only reason /only couple I tune in for. It would have been better not to bring back Ben at all if they are going to get us hyped on Cin only to have them a couple a short time and have either of them with someone that is horrible for them and they aren't good for. Or someone who treats Ciara as horribly as Tripp does.

Your awfully calm about this anitalyfe! Hopefully we will get more insite in coming months and we can find we all panicked for nothing. I am hopeful it's a matter of kidnapped Ciara. It just does not explain why Ben and Abby are in each other's orbit. Or why Ben is back working with unbearable Rope and Eli. I hope by that time they lay off him!!!

I have no patience! It's hard enough with having to watch Tripp with Ciara for much longer but I know she has to be over him before anything happens. I fail to see what Ciara sees in Tripp.It's good thing neither Ben or Ciara are cheaters. I also know having Ben around Ciara won't do the things trips pressuring her for and Ben will catch on to what Tripp is doing.
I believe even with the short separation they may have Cin is end game. I'm just losing it not knowing why they aren't together and will only be together a month or so before they lose each other. It not fair as Tripp and Ciara have had so much longer just being fighting friends but they still are in each other's orbit. Even if Cin not together at this point Ben deserves same respect that Tripp gets but doesn't deserve. C was way to forgiving and easy on Clipp. I guess Clipp can go at it again and it will be fine. .

Keep up that positive attitude soapjunkie. We all need it right now!! Once Abby has to leave show for good to be put in mental hospital Ben and Ciara will be reunited and hopefully they will leave together. Only way to keep them happy and away from miserable over controlling parents.

Greetings, mayor!!! So I've been thinking for a while that Ciara gets kidnapped and Ben saves her. I think Wheels might be on to something regarding Gabby maybe being behind it. Also VK isn't near as active on social media as RSW is. They could still be taping together, or taped a bunch of scenes before VK's vacation, we just don't know. But I do think they're at least still in the same orbit. I'm not panicking yet.

It's not even RSW that has all these videos of BTS he just happens to be in everyone elses. LOL. He's quite the social butterfly plus I do think he and KM just get along really well.

There are days of unknowns but quite frequently lately it seems when RSW posts about work VK is posting somewhere not on set and vice versa which I think is kinda driving the early unsettling.

We can't go to full on panic mode just yet though. It's too early and lots of things are still so jumbled about what is happening SIX MONTHS from now. But just something to chew on

Thanks so much beloved Mayor for the updates!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that hopefully Cin taped slot of scenes together prior to VK's Greece trip. I dont like that Ben may be back in abbys orbit but as long as it's not romantic again I'll be happy. On a positive note, tptb must see how popular Cin is, so I cant see them back burning them for very long if at all. I am going to keep the faith!

I saw the writing change at one point midstream with Jack and Jennifer. She was in a relationship with Emilio, and then bang, an episode later--first kiss with Jack in the wall. Keep the faith Cinners, we are legion, and we are in this for the long haul. KEEP THE FAITH!

Ok if we are getting Cin angst what would you call what's happening now? Will they ever have a moment alone without Tripp acting like a jerk or having hope crash any close moments. We are getting angst every week. I'm up for more days like last 2 of smiles and fun.
Even with cripp angst they are still in each other's orbits. It sucks they can still be fighting and angst mode yet still have scenes. But Cin won't. Gah.

I like KM as Abby but I REALLY don't want her anywhere near Ben. As a viewer I don't want the anguish even knowing it will turn out all right. I have enough trouble tolerating Hope where Ben is concerned.

I saw some chem with Ben and Claire also but I don’t know if I can see them together. He looks good with Ciara and they just fit better together. Who knows now that they’re all living as a quad together..this could go round and round, ugh. It is RC Days so expect the unexpected, lol. I can see Ben and Claire teaming up but not much else. Ben and Ciara are my couple though!!

That would ruin Cin's unfolding story for no good reason tbh. It would also be out of character for Ben. He knows what hell Ciara went through because of them. He didn't let Ciara forget what Tripp did with her buddy Claire when he figured out he was interrupting something. Not sure why he would be less protective of Ciara where Claire is concerned. That would devastate her and she's been through enough. On another note, Claire looks & acts too young for Ben. I cannot see them together romantically.

I don’t get the worrying honestly like it’s months away , Chrishell has said she’s had scenes with Victoria . Who’s to say just because we don’t see them on set at the same time doesn’t mean they’re not filming together

Where has she said this? On twitter she has only said VK reminded her of Mila Kunis and VK is a star. I'm not sure how that translates to them working together unless she commented somewhere else about them having scenes together.

I do agree that it is very early and we can't panic too much yet.

I would like to thank our mayor for gathering us all here.

As a citizen of Cin City I would like to address the community.

The inevitable drought is upon. I’m not sure how we’ll all survive after our wonderful summer of Cin. However, there are certain things to remember.

I recently starting watching Jack/Jennifer’s playlist and a lot was centred on Jack’s redemption as they found their way to each other. I think that Ben having scenes with Abby could be similar to Jack’s scenes with Kayla.

As much as none of us are interested in Ben having scenes with Abby. He eventually needs to be somewhat welcomed or accepted in Salem. He has been excellent unlike some, in taking accountability for his actions. Part of his redemption could be helping Abigail and her alters. Just like Jack helped Kayla and Steve.

We’ve got Jordan returning which is great. A much needed ally for her brother. Who has no family and has every legacy family against him. It grounds him more. Someone to be his sounding board and to champion him.

I would love to have scenes of Ben going to see Clyde in prison. Ciara wanting to go with him or to support him. Ben being unsure and conflicted because his upbringing was so painful. I can see it now! *daydreams*

Slow and steady wins the race. Cin are on the right track. I think it’s better to deal with his past than run from it. Especially if Cin are going the distance.

anitalyfe If there's another one you can parallel it to or one that has been done better I'm all ears. That's why I checked his out in the first place because of a discussion like this.

I think it's rare on soaps (or at least the ones I have watched), to have a character be redeemed without retcon. As I've watched 89, now on to 90 and they didn't/haven't done that. They hit the marks and some I didn't even expect them to. Jack's interactions with Steve, Kayla, Adrienne, Jo, Harper followed by the ghosts of his fathers, the use of his job at the Spectator, his friendship with Isabella and most importantly for me, his own reluctance to buy into the hype of his own redemption. Self deprecation feels key.

It was continuous, going on two years and apparently will continue to subject of discussion in 91 which I have yet to complete. Narratively speaking, and with 21st century soaps need to rush everything and embarrassingly have the emotional depth of a kiddie pool sometimes, I look to Jack's presently, as a pretty good example. I think it's THE redemption to some because of that fact - he didn't need a tumor. He didn't need a mental illness. It was raw and without excuse.

With Ben, I want him integrated into the show, not on the sidelines as a character you can lift right out. That's why addressing the blonde elephant in the room wearing a black wig seems like a good idea. If they write it well.

I can see her raging on him, trying to talk to him dark side to dark side, Ben somehow helping. Or it could be none and they simply having a minimal interaction and I've made up this grand interaction in my head.

My suggestion would be to watch Jack’s story again and then you can see the similarities we are referring to. Jack was a bad guy who fans just hated, he did a terrible thing and used people.

But with love and willingness to accept his deeds and lots of work towards being a better person he became part of a supercouple, which is the love story that for now seems to be playing out with
Cin.

The writing in those days was incredible, best Days ever had and MA played the hell out of it which is why many refer to it as one of the best redemption stories on Days. And it took awhile, wasn’t overnight but it was so exciting to watch it play out. I was a kid back then but I knew I was watching something great.

Jack isn’t everyone’s cup of tea because they know his story past this redemption one where the writers sucked.

But to say Ben is like that last story is a compliment, so not saying Jack’s name really really seems wrong.

I agree. Ben needs to interact with other characters outside of Ciara. Also Billy Jack's redemption was an arc writers put a huge amount of effort into. Ben would be lucky to have that much attention give to him.
