8 years ago my world stopped turning. I still miss ATWT. There is nothing on now that is even close to it.

I read that Mrs. CBS has announced she's leaving the show that replaced ATWT.

I miss ATWT. CBS should never had cancelled it.

So sad. I still miss my ATWT. What a stupid move by CBS and P&G. They didn’t promote the snow and slashed its budget. It was still the best. I hope they are forced to cancel the chew.

My world stopped turning 8 years ago, also. I still miss ATWT so very much. I haven't watched CBS since. I've always felt that Mrs.CBS wanted her own show - so "Daddy" gave her one to keep her happy. So, there went our show. Thanks alot, CBS - I hope that talk show gets canceled. This should never have happened. ATWT was and always will be the best!

I liked that the show didn't completely abandon its roots before it ended....certainly it became more 'plot driven' over time, but it was still a multi-generational story about families...the Snyders, the Hughes family, the Stenbeck/Ryan family, and the Stewarts....those families were other original, core families (The Hughes clan) or had a decades long history with the show....and didn't fade out...on holidays and special events they brought back prior cast members/family members who had moved from Oakdale and we got to check in with them...and with the exception of James Stenbeck's returns from the dead every other year in the 2000's...they didn't go for shock value casting over and over...

The one thing I wish they would have done over time is brought back Gunnar St. Clair , the true Stenbeck heir...and the man I feel was the love of Barbara's life...she and Hal were good together for a while, but I think Gunnar should have made a return from the dead....I loved Hal and Emily as a couple, too...so Barbara would have/could have been free to fall for Gunnar all over again....and I would rather have seen that than seeing her wind up with Henry Coleman...I liked Henry/the actor, but I couldn't really get behind Henry and Barbara being together.

I think the actor who played Gunnar first name is Hugo something. Did anyone like him as Tracy Q's first hubby Lord Ashton? Ned is their son. I vaguely remember Gunnar as a kid. He seemed like a nice guy.

The one thing I wished they had done was to give Luke and Reid a happy ending. But they killed off Reid, and a lot of fans were upset by that.

It is awful that they killed Reid and left Luke grieving while all the straight characters got happy endings.

ICAM - and I've watched all of the remaining soaps - they don't even begin to compare.

I'm watching B&B now. Can't even begin to think about comparing to ATWT!! I need to check out Carly on GH. I did for awhile, and for some reason, had to stop. I need to check again. As for The Talk I have watched literally ONE handful of times. What a stupid stupid stupid move CBS made!!

I didn't watch her on Y&R, when she played the second Diane. But I heard she was good on there as well. Yes Ava is a true hot mess on GH! Although I have not watched in quite awhile.

Yeah, I know it almost felt like 2 me that somehow show was putting the screws 2 Lily's soapy kid because of all the backlash when show did MB so WRONG............I really missed her as LILY!

Luke & Red were a great love story!

MOST all the straight couples got their happily ever after except poor Luke.

IDK, I guess show left his s/l open ended 4 a possibility 2 get back with Noah!

But, IMO they as a couple just didn't "sell" it!

What happened to Martha Byrne? I sorta remember some conflict, but my memory is fuzzy. Did she want more money?

I think it was a $$ issue or she just wanted some time 2 do other projects from time 2 time(I really can't remember)but she was FIRED & replaced..........no loyalty!

                  fans didn't like it!

As I recall, she said afterwards that she had been willing to negotiate, but after she refused their initial offer, they dropped her contract. Also, the actress who replaced her (can't think of her name) had a contract that ended before the show did, and she offered to step down so Martha could come back for the last few months of the show and they didn't take her up on it!!!

I thought it was very classy of the actress to offer to step aside if Martha Byrne wanted to return. I loved her a little bit more because of that. At least fans knew she wasn't standing in the way if Martha wanted to come back.

yeah, I heard that the replacement actress was willing 2 do that.................gracious!

She used 2 play tricia on Loving!

Show did MB wrong..........she deserved BETTER!

Roger Howarth, who plays Franco on GH, said in a podcast interview earlier this month that he was called in to play Holden. It was before he landed the role of Todd Manning on OLTL. Jon Hensley was in some sort of dispute with the show, maybe over a contract; anyway, Roger was called to step in as Holden. It must have been a love scene because Roger said there was a bear skin rug and he wasn't going to have much on. Jon showed up on the set so Roger was paid for his time but never appeared. Roger said it was around the time that Justin Mills (Hutch) was on the show.

Wow I had never heard that! I love Roger but so strange to imagine him as Holden!
