There just has to be a season three (at least) because there are so many questions that need to be answered and loose ends that need to be tied up. The main ones for me are:
1. What was Carlos Del Sol's role in JR's arranged death? He definitely knew more than he let on. It bothers me that they did not address this in the finale, or maybe I missed it?
2. Did Bobby pay off Rhonda Simmons to say she had seen Cliff in Nuevo Laredo?
3. Why is Cliff so much more hateful and evil now than in the original? What happened to him between Dallas 1.0 and Dallas 2.0?
4. Will Bobby continue to let Cliff rot in the Mexican prison for murdering JR even though he knows Cliff didn't do it?
5. Is Bobby really as unaffected by the news of Pam's death as he seemed in the finale, or will he realize he still has unresolved feelings for her and mourn her death? If so, will it cause problems in his marriage to Ann?
What questions do you want answered?

Cliff now is the Cliff I remember from Dallas Seasons 1 - 14.
Hi July Baby I think you've covered some great questions and I want to know there answers, as well!! ........I do feel that Bobby had really mourned Pamela, a long time ago-and for a long time, probably. Perhaps his acceptance that she was gone, that she had left them (both he and Christopher) was solid and this new news did not change the resolve and the acceptance he already has had, and for a long time? Just my take on it. .....I think he and Anne are great together so I hope they won't do anything to mess that up-other than the usual dramatic angst of TV pairings. ....I agree that Carlos Del Sol was/is so connected and apparently very powerful, I would be suprised if there was not more to his story regarding JR. .....If the writers want to go there, I too see lots of story potential..........and whatever did happen to Cliff Barnes!?!? Changing over time-yes, but becoming a virtual starnger of a character-as he did to many of us-no. We need to know WHY Cliff lost his Heart and Soul-so we have lots of reason for a season 3-----and more!! ........(edited for my usual typos. )

Hi, Tulip! The way I see it, Bobby mourned the end of his relationship with Pam a long time ago because he thought she didn't want to come back to him. I think there was anger and bitterness on his part because of her supposed absolute refusal to see him or Christopher again. Now that he knows that isn't what happened, that she really wanted to come back to them but was very sick, and died shortly afterward, it's a whole different story. I think hearing this news for the first time would evoke a whole array of emotions from the Bobby we know and love from "Dallas" 1.0. He would feel guilty and angry with himself for doubting her love and for not pursuing the matter at the time to find out what was really going on. He would be angry that he made the mistake of taking Cliff's word for everything. Even though he seems happily married to Ann, this news about Pam should be startling to him. That's why we need a season 3, at least, because I want to see Bobby gradually absorb and react to the shock about Pam, the love of his life, and deal with his feelings in a way that is consistent with his character. I just can't believe that the lack of reaction and coldness we saw in the finale are his final thoughts and feelings (or lack thereof) about Pam. JMO.
Well we know why they had to make Cliff much more hateful, mean, revengeful...and so totally unredeemable ...because they had to make us the viewers accept the bogus reason why it was acceptable for JR to plot his own death to frame Cliff...and why Bobby & the rest of the Ewing's would think this was a great idea...not to mention adding also Cliff keeping the fact that Pam died a quarter of century ago & never informed Bobby or Christopher really fueled that hate for Cliff fire even more...not only is he responsible for killing Christopher's kids he kept the fact that his Mother didn't abandon him...she died instead...so this makes it so easy for them & us to feel Cliff deserves to rot in that Mexican jail...the way they had to tear Cliff's character down...for us to swallow this...is an insult our intelligence...and now it looks like Bobby's character has gone from nice sweet caring Bobby to cold as ice Bobby... I also understand it's been 25 years & Bobby had gotten over Pam & moved on...but finding out Pam just didn't walk out of his & Christopher's lives...but was actually dead...should have made a little difference in how he responded to hearing about her death...It is just not natural for anyone especially someone like Bobby to not feel some emotion over someone he not only once loved...but shared a life with and a child with...had passed away...and he should have had a least took a moment with Christopher where he assured him how much his Mother did love him...there just should have been a little compassion shown between Bobby & his son...and JR was the strongest toughest man we ever knew...who could take on anything or anyone & glare down any ememy...but when it comes to cancer he chickens out & can't face it head on...so JR did not take JR out...cancer did...so in the end they make powerful JR a coward...it's one thing to change characters around who we are not that familiar with or just joined up in the reboot...but to dramatically change 3 core characters that most of us has watched for 30+ years... is such a major dissapointment
The whole ring drama and Elena's POV.
I also want to know some backstory, how did Pamela Rebecca go from being the nice girl with afton to being under Cliff's spell.
To July and Pink, Thanks for clarifing exactly what occured, in regard to the fact that Bobby did not know Pamela had passed years ago. I must retract a lot of what I said regarding Bobby's reaction on the finale', because I honestly thought Bobby KNEW Pamela was not alive. .....I don't know why I thought he had heard that on the original series? And when on NuDallas, (still think of it as 'the new Dallas, lol) it was said Pamela may be alive, I thought that Bobby was reacting as if he believed she had passed years ago and now was just hearing that she may still be alive, and that was why he did the extensive search to find her/to find out if it was true that she really could be still alive. ....I got things mixed up, it seems! ......I don't understand why if Bobby knew she was alive, why he did not try to find her over the years.... I guess after VP left Dallas, there are parts that I must have missed, or am just not remembering correctly!
i didnt think he was always that way,but im watching again and hes kicking poor people out of there homes right now to better himself, also bobby went to cliff stay away from my marriage and cliff told him i will use anyone and anything even my sister to take down the ewings ,i think we were all watching him with rose colored glasses on all i can say is thank god we always had jr looking out for us because people we were in denial......................................lol and bobby told cliff if he doesnt stay away from pam then bobby said he'd help jr take cliff down..
On the original series, Cliff reminded me of a slimy rat who hid under rocks and came out whenever he needed to scavenge. Cliff on the new series reminds me of Digger Barnes, a desperate weasel who would try anything to get his way. I, for one, enjoy Cliff this way. I really enjoyed his comeuppance in Mexico.
I agree Cliff was alway a despicable conniving scoundrel...but the one thing I won't agree with is...he would NEVER deliberately put anyone he loved in any danger...and to make the call to go ahead with blowing up the Rig once he knew his pregnant daughter was on board...was totally out of character for Cliff...and him making that decision was only done for one reason...so the Ewings could get Pamela on their side against her own Father...and to make it acceptable...that they were going to set him up for JR's so-called murder...and I'm sorry I think that was a line that was so way out of left field & was completely unnecessary to cross

pink have you been listening to pam again about how her brother can walk on water, and the ewings are scum...i used to think that way to but ive went back to the begining again and he said he would use anybody and anything to destroy the ewings, hes kicking poor people out of there homes...i think hes always been bad we just didnt see it
I'm not saying Cliff is not lower then low...he is...just not low enough to hurt those he loved...let's go back in time & imagine the same scenario and his sister Pam or his Mama or his beloved Daddy Digger is the one on that Rig...does he still proceed with blowing it up...I don't think he would have...that is why I don't think it's believable that now he would do that to his own daughter & grandchildren...and that is where I have a problem with CC...as bad as Cliff is & has been...it was still out of character for him to go that far...she only did it so Cliff would be so unredeemable...we would accept his daughter turning on him...and the Ewings framing him for JR's supposed murder...I just think it's sloppy writing to try to make everything fit...and it just doesn't feel right...and I just don't like it...but maybe it's just me
I was a kid when Dallas was originally on but I grew up with the impression that Cliff hated JR, and with reason, but not the rest of the Ewings. I thought he and Bobbie actually got along. Didn't they do something at the end, oust JR from EO together??? Anyway I have been watching the orginal show from the beginning (thank goodness for DVD's) and am now on season 6 and I was shocked how much he hates ALL the Ewing family. This season he has even turned on Pam and consideres her one of 'them'. I was actually cheering JR on at the end of season 5 when he brought Cliff down by letting Cliff sink himself (he embezzled money from his moms company to buy an oil field JR manipulated him into believing was a gold mine). I was glad JR won Sue Ellen back as well and was rooting for him (amazing how that happens when he is being so bad but LH played him so well with such fun that you couldn't help but want him to win). Now Cliff tried to kill himself and everyone hates JR for it and Cliffs mom is now taking up the fight against the Ewings and I am off track, lol.... Anyway other than harming his own daughter which is a bit of a stretch I think his obsession has only grown over time and the events of this new series seem to be in character for what i am seeing so far in the old show. Now maybe my opinion will change as i get to later seasons.
*** EW1NG1 parks up and walks back in ***
helllllooo everybody, good thread @ july baby
i been away on business and had a lot on and have missed u this place and you guys
but anyway regarding what happened between dallas 1.0 and dallas 2.0 to turn cliff into such a monster now..good question
but i believe that its down to Cliff being what he always has ... a loser like his dad, who couldnt let go of the feud with the ewings
now he was a good uncle to Christopher in the original and he loved his sister Pam, but by no way what happened to Pam in her accident was
any fault of the Ewings so he should not blame her death on them
now whats changed ??? he realised that he never put the Ewings down like he had always wanted too in the original Dallas
he would always be outwitted by JR and made to look a fool, lol so he has got aggressive as years have gone on to complete his quest to destroy the
Ewings - set off with putting his own daughter in on a plan to marry her own cousin!! now thats twisted to start with
only explanation is - he has gone Crazy! lol
but i am sure Dallas season 3! is a must
anyway its 01:15 hours here , so good night il be back again
hey ewing 1 hows things going,it was renewed for a 3rd season so we will see, cliff has always been scum,we need to see john ross call him a moth eater like jr used too...lol i can picture cliff eatting them ..lol are you winning many games there buddy,i missed talking to you i was wondering if you were ever coming back..lol
