i know and alot of people are saying its ended it wont end as long as cliff is breathing
I liked the conclusion to the "who killed J.R." s/l. The only one who could take out J.R. was J.R.
I liked Emma turning on her father.
I did not like JohnRoss cheating on Pamela with Emma.
I did not like the fact that JohnRoss seems to be getting into the drug business, something J.R. would never had done.
I did not like the fact Christopher is crawling back to Elena.
I did not like the fact that they did not end the Ewing/Barnes feud they just added too it.
i know and alot of people are saying its ended it wont end as long as cliff is breathing
^^^Plus JohnRoss thinks he has Pamela under control. Pamela is not SueEllen, Emma is more like SueEllen than Pamela.
Umm...it may never end. I love Ken Kercheval. Unless they bring on some other truly great villains, I'm fine with it continuing. Plus if John Ross cheats on Pamela (agree with you, OP, that made me sad) that will reignite the rivalry. She is not a woman to be trifled with.
I really loved that line after the conclusion of Who Killed JR Redux. Agree with you on the underlined. When John Ross uttered those lines, I was like, Ah of course. It couldn't have ended any other way that would be satisfying. Only JR can take down JR--essentially, no one can best JR in the end.
I will also add that I like that they are making Elena have more depth. I am hoping that they can pull this off because so far she has been rather drab!
I just can't believe Pam is really dead. it broke my heart.
I loved the conclusion of the Who Killed JR story. Such a simple answer, and here we were trying to put all these pieces together like it was the most complicated thing in the world. The only person who ever could've taken down JR was JR. Bloody brilliant.
Thank god they are finally doing something interesting with Elena. What a great twist with the deeds.
So many questions raised in the finale...
Who is the guy Elena is going to see?
What is John Ross doing with Emma?
And what did Emma steal for John Ross?
What became of Drew?
Is Pam really dead, or is there still more to this?
And what was in her letter to Christopher?
Will Pamela care that her father was set up?
What was the deal with Harris and his mother?
Where is Mama Ryland?
I am saddened that Pam is dead, but I have to say that is the only reason that I would buy. What the doctor said about her loving Christopher and wanting to get better so that she could get back to him, that made perfect sense. I could never understand why after all she went through to have a child of her own to love and how much she loved Christopher, that she would just up and leave him and never want to see him again. That never made sense to me. But, knowing that she didn't want to scare him with her burns and scars until she got them fixed and when she was finally fixed she didn't want him to watch her die--that's Pam. Good writing on that one.
Bum being JR's killer....I almost got sick to my stomach over this one. It was so sad to think that he shot his friend to give his friend the peace in the end JR wanted. I don't think JR realized how hard on BUm shooting him would be.
John Ross is his father made over.
I hope Pamela Rebecca finds a certain peace. Whenever I see her on TV, I just think that she just needs peace. She lost her children and found out her father was completely to blame. Her mother is a nut. She really leans on John Ross and I hope that when she finds out that he is cheating on her that it doesn't break her and drive her to the bottle. I know that some have said she is stronger than Sue Ellen, but even the strong have flaws and weaknesses and sometimes still break.
Christopher--good going for finally telling Elena off. I was cheering during that scene and proudly telling him that he could do better. Hopefully, they find him someone else for next season.
Elena--good pinning her against the Ewings. It actally gives her seomthing to do and she actually shows emotions! I didn't think she could do that. EVen when Christopher's babies died, someone she said she loved was in true grieving pain and she couldn't even muster a tear.
Emma--like that she turned on her father. Don't like that she is sleeping with John Ross. Would like to know what was in that suitcase. I would also like to know what really happened to her grandmother.
I can't wait for Season 3 and serioulsy hope that the statement that they won't return until Summer of 2014 was a mistake.
For me it was OOC for Bobby to frame Cliff. On the Pam issue, her cancer came out of no where. I wish they would recast and bring Pam home!
Well played, JR. Well played. Your master plan worked exactly as you wanted it to, you finally got to take down Cliff Barnes. Loved it.
I thought it was brilliant to have JR be the only one who could kill JR. Great tribute to the character and Larry Hagman. BRAVO.
I hated that John Ross cheated on Pamela with Emma. I guess they really want John Ross to be a copy of his father
I liked Emma turning on her father but I just can not get into Emma on any level so I really didn't care
I liked that they finally wrapped up what happened to the original Pamela Ewing. They now need to let it go. If VP won't come back the character needs to RIP
I didn't like that Cliff is rotting in a Mexican prison? Huh? Bring him back to Dallas and let him rot there, penniless, company-less and daughter-less.
I didn't like that it seems the NEW feud might be consisting of the Ewings and Ramos families. Um, who cares? I for one do not care about Elena, Drew, their mother or father
I realized once and for all that Bobby and Anne are the most boring couple on TV. If there is a Season 3, these two need ALOT of drama to get me to believe they love each other.
I LOVE Sue Ellen. Boy she didn't miss a beat last night and she proved she's learned ALOT from JR. She's still true, old school Dallas.
I didn't like Christopher last night. He just annoyed me. Maybe because he and Elena are as boring as Bobby and Anne
I didn't quite understand JR's Masterplan outside of th fact that he framed Cliff to be his murderer. There were many elements that had to fall into place to make his plan work that he could not have predicted after he died. For example, John Ross had to marry Pamela to get her shares of BG. JR, could not have predicted that would happen. JR, by all accounts, did not really know Pamela had died so he could not have been sure that Christopher would get her shares. JR didn't really know what Ryland was up to or Cliff for that matter or that Emma would get the notebook on her father, thereby sealing his fate so how was it JR's Masterplan?
Again, I apologize, but outside of the fact that JR planned his own demise and had the blame fall on Cliff, I was completely disappointed in the show and really don't see how I would want to see Season 3. What is there to want to watch?
I thoroughly enjoyed the Season Finale.
Judging by all of the armed guards around the mansion/fortress where Elena's childhood friend, Joaquin lives .. I'll bet Joaquin is the head of one of the Mexican drug cartels .. and if this is the case .. I’m thinking Elena's wrath over JR having double-crossed her father will have the Ewings facing a force more powerful than Cliff Barnes or Harris Ryland ever dreamed of being.
And .. Joaquin may use his “influence” to have all charges against Cliff and Ryland dropped.

I liked it! It was extremely well written. But I don't like the idea of Elena being the new bitch in town. Her character is completely unnecessary and the whole Ramos family should be written out. It broke my heart when Bobby read his last letter from J.R. The emotion Patrick had was real and you can tell he really loved Larry.
I'll pat myself on the back for predicting that it would turn out that JR set up his own murder and his plan was to frame Cliff for it - I'm so smart - I liked the finale, but wow they really dumped everything but the kitchen sink on Cliff - The bombing, hiding that Pam died from Christopher - I guess so there would be no sympathy at all for him when he was framed for JR's murder, JR didn't know anything about that stuff when he set up his mater plan, he just wanted to stick it to Cliff from beyond the grave, but I am glad that Cliff got what he deserved for killing his own grandchildren.

Oh, I am so glad I found this board. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy Dallas. We love how fast paced it is. We love all the twists and turns. I love the finale last night. Love how they tied up what JR's last big plan was. Emma helping them was a surprise. I thought she just went back to Daddy Dearest (he is creepy) to get more pills. Loved the twist that John Ross was going to see her at the end! So like JR! I like Drew. I hope we see him come back. Pamela is so interesting to me. She was good, then bad, then good again! It is a huge cast but they share the stories. I love it that they explained where Pamela has been. Christopher needed that closure. What was in the suitcase Emma brought? She gave the drug records to Anna and the police.
Ok I really like the John Ross and Pamela dynamic. If done well, they could be the future of this show.
I liked the ending of the show. I liked that John Ross is a scoundrel, although I think he also loves Pamela.
I do want to see Pamela being smart about this.
I am not going to like this show if they make John Ross a drug dealer.
I liked Elena going to the mystery castle. As a Texan, I must say the Ewings and their friends are certainly more willing to visit Mexico these days than I am .
I do agree with those who say the character is boring and the acting rather one note.
I even liked John Ross messing with Emma.
I thought it was interesting that J.R. had himself killed. I think that is somewhat fitting and I really enjoyed the only J.R. could kill J.R. line.
I would like to see a picture of Jock at Ewing oil.
I really did not like the Ewings setting up Cliff for murder. I did not like that at all.
Personally, I am still not feeling Bobby and Anna. That really needs to be developed.
I want more for Sue Ellen. I like her.
So generally I enjoyed the show.
I was truly disgusted and disappointed by the finale. J.R.’s masterpiece, what a flipping joke. Do the writers really think that Mr. Hagman would have wanted J.R to go out the way he did, I don’t think so. The real J.R. would have strip cliff off everything including the lint out of his pant pocket. So to make boring Elena relevant, Crusty Cliff had to hand over “The Ewing’s are bad” banner. So I guess her cartel buddy and crew will be storming over to South Folk for a showdown.
John Ross a horn dog, just like dear ole’ daddy. I didn't expect him to be a boy scout, but cheating so early in the marriage, why? Pamela already admitted that she loved him, and this is how he repays her. The writers better not turn her to some weakling, because I really want to do some real damage to his southern region. So Emma betray daddy dearest, just so that she could continue to knock knee caps with John Ross. I hope he has a hard time getting rid of his unstable junkie mistress. Those soul-less reptiles deserve one other.I was truly disgusted and disappointed by the finale. J.R.’s masterpiece, what a flipping joke. I have to say that I loved the finale until the end. HATED the end, lol! I just don't "get" alot of it. If JR died of natural causes, or by his own hand-and his masterpiece was to frame Cliff for a murder that he did not commit...the Bobby that I know would never have gone along with that! He just wouldn't! And he sure as the hell wouldn't have recruited Christopher and John Ross to do dirty deeds and put Christopher through the pain of possibly facing his mother, all based on a lie!! It makes zero sense! I must be missing something in a major way! Also, the Bobby that I know would not have added that added hurt on a still grieving Pamela-especially since she was putting her very existence on the line against her own father to help with this lie. I HATE it! It was enough that she found out the truth about what Cliff did to her and her babies! The "Cliff killed JR" thing didn't need to be a consideration for Pamela's buy in.
Next...HATE Emma! I really don't have anything else to say about her. I had thought that whatever was in the safe was going to help Drew in someway. I had thought that when she went to visit Rylan-she would say something like "That's from Drew". That would have made more sense to me. I don't like Drew or the Ramos's either but I would have liked the above scenario better.
Sue Ellen was a shining star as always and I LOVE her being the "New JR". Her and Jon Ross are a force to be reckoned with and I LOVE EVERY SECOND OF THEM!
I was even intrigued with evil Rylan's genuine (weird) love for Emma. The man is creepy and evil and strange but I do believe that he truly loves Emma, which was nice to see that was his downfall.
Elena-where do I start, besides I loathe her! So now we are suppossed to believe that everything the Ewings have-Southfork, the land, the oil-everything is rightfully the Ramos's? PA-LEASSSEE!! I will never buy into that! It's just plain stupid!
I must have missed the part where Jon Ross is getting into the drug business? I watched it all but I don't remember that? What happened?
Final Thoughts~ love the commercials about who is going to rise to power and I am throwing my weight behind Pamela!! She has morphed into my favorite character. LOVE her & Jon Ross, they are on fire. HATED HATED HATED the end, seeing him cheat on her with Emma. I know that he is JR's son..he is sup to be a scoundrel but I hated it. Honestly, the scene the week before with her running to him in the rain after learning the truth was soooo much HOTTER than the scene with Emma on the finale. If someone had to cheat, I wish it would have been Pamela doing the cheating!
One word... Brilliant. It's got too big of a following, to be cancelled, but if they do, it at least left us satisfied
I didn't mind the final scene with John Ross cheating on Pamela - It showed that he had indeed become his father's son and sets John Ross/Pamela up as the new JR/Sue Ellen - I could see JR smiling down, or up, and saying 'that's my boy.'

When she find out that he "did not kill JR" ...I don't think she will care..because he after all is responible for the death of her children. I think we will see more anger over her finding out about John Ross and Emma than the actual setup.
Bobby not crying over Pam ruined it for me. Plus Cliff shoudn't go to jail for a crime he didn't commit.
I had another thought on the Emma and John Ross business. If I were a writer and needed to turn this around and make John Ross the person that a lot of fans want him to be in regards to his love for Rebecca, I would have him having been with Emma to get the info that Rebecca needed.
John Ross knows that Cliff did not shoot his father, he knows that Cliff did a ton of things. Including being involved with Harris in this Drug running apparently. He would have had to have known about it. What if what is in that briefcase can help Cliff? I can't see the Ewings getting involved in the Drug trade. I just don't see how the writers could go there with this family.
JohnRoss cheating on Pamela was, IMO, lazy writing. I knew the moment he stopped and bought the flowers and wine he was meeting with Emma, that was a no brainer. What would have been a good way to close the season for JohnRoss would have been to show him either climbing into the tub or shower with Pamela and saying lets make a baby. JohnRoss can still be some what like JR, he just does have to be a big ole manwhore.
Elena making the same mistake her brother did, not going to Bobby with the information. He may not have believed her because the info came from Cliff, but in the end he would have looked into because he knew his brother. I will hate this s/l because I want the Ramos family gonnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeee.
The problem I have with setting Cliff up is that Bobby started that process before Cliff had that rig blown up. The only thing Bobby knew that Cliff had done was to prostitute is daughter to gain access to Christopher's tecnology, that is not enough to set anyone up for a murder he did not commit. I understand going through with it once Bobby knew everything Cliff had done, but not when he started the process. Bobby has officially crossed a line that the writers, for me. can never be undone, for me good ole Bobby is gone, Bobby must now being written as a grey character, not shady, just grey, because Bobby is no longer a black/white type of character.

I posted about this before--Cliff's main beef was with JR. And yes, Cliff proposed a truce with Miss Ellie after Pam's accident--it was a very moving scene. Ken Kercheval was excellent. When the original Dallas ended, Cliff was a great uncle to Christopher (very fond of him) and he had a good relationship with Bobby so much so that there were times when he backed off of JR in the latter seasons because of his friendship with Bobby. They never explained what happened between Dallas 1.0 and 2.0 that changed Cliff so much.
I think the writers are worried that something might happen to KK. Having Pamela marry into the Ewings ensures that the Ewing-Barnes feud continues long after Cliff is gone. It continues the push and pull the way Bobby and Pam's marriage did. And John Ross's infidelity may make Pamela turn on the Ewings in the future.
