I hope it comes back for season three, and they clean up this mess they made!!Initially I was okay with the season finale but now that I've had time to think of it, there's too much that doesn't make sense especially with Cliff and Bobby. Cliff as you said, DID, give up the feud on screen. And there were multiple times when he refrained from going after JR in Dallas 1.0 out of his respect for Bobby. He was also a great uncle to Christopher--makes no sense how he changed so much given that the writers have given us no explanation as to what suddenly changed him during the 2 decades time gap between Dallas 1.0 and 2.0. I mean it's not like Jock cheated Digger AGAIN in that time period!
Also what happened to Bobby in the finale really bothers me in retrospect. I totally get that only JR can take down JR and JR having himself killed is totally in character for JR Ewing. As is using his death as an opportunity to frame Cliff Barnes...BUT Bobby. As one poster said, at the time Bobby started executing JR's Masterpiece, Bobby didn't know Cliff was responsible for killing his grandchildren nor did he know that Cliff covered Pam's existence and death up (something Cliff would NOT do to Christopher). So Bobby is vindictive? Two of the overarching themes that drew me into Dallas to begin with were good versus evil and nature versus nurture. I found it intriguing that JR (who did the wrong thing 99% of the time) and Bobby (who did the right thing 99% of the time) could be brothers. To me, other characters have been grey from Sue Ellen to Gary to Christopher. But Bobby was not a grey character. And I enjoyed that I could always count on Bobby to do the right thing unless his back was up against the wall (usually because JR did something horrible and Bobby had to clean up after JR while protecting the Ewings). But to have Bobby frame Cliff like this it just ruins who Bobby is. Now every character is grey and that is boring to me. Ken Kercheval is a brilliant actor who played Cliff with many layers for so many years but now Cliff is just evil.
