Ok I have a stupid question
Please answer. Why does VP not want to return as Pam. I mean she would not be needed full time, and is not doing anything else. It would give to the fan and the show without being tied down. Sorry I just can understand why?
Not at all a stupid question. ;0)
She's given a couple of different reasons that I've seen.....1) She runs a business of her own that demands her regular presence in California.......the show is filmed entirely in Dallas, TX now.......also, she considers the story of Bobby and Pam to be a 'tragic' love story...and that the 'ending' of that story should be tragic....as it was intended 20+ years ago....she doesn't wish to revisit that and change the 'ending' for them.....I respect her integrity to the character, to be honest, as much as it frustrates me to not have her return....I respect why she doesn't want to do it......
I totally agree with GuidingLite.
I loved VP as Pamela... but I totally get Victoria's reason. I feel cheated but I respect and understand her reasoning.
The one thing that I would like to ask Victoria (if I could speak to her) is: "How would you feel about showing up for the very last episode ever... and having Bobby and Pam sail off into the sunset... the reverse of Romeo and Juliet?"
My ending goes against the Romeo and Juliet thing... so Victoria would probably say I'm not getting her point.
I remember one time in a group interviewe... VP said she would have come back for the very final episode of the original series if it was "definitely the very final episode"... but no one could promise her any definite and final episode... .due to reunion movies, etc.
I think it's really just her way of sticking it to them for the whole crappy "It was just a dream and Bobby was in the shower the whole time" season story line
She has actually said that her reason for leaving wasn't the dream season, it was how she was written AFTER the dream season, where they took all the strength and determination that they had infused her with in the past few seasons and 'dumbed her down' again, making her the doting little housewife type.....
It will be interesting to see what they do now that the Ewings are 'searching for Pam'....with or without Victoria Principal.
I'd love for this to be the biggest PUNK in the world. VP stating over and over that she's not interested in coming back as Pam and then, WHAMMO!!!! There she is on our screen.
How great would that be?
LOL in your dreams; but ITA it WOULD be great to see.
LOL- No, no more dreams!
