just an idea about 20 year time line in two Dallas situations!

I may be completly off base with my idea (it wouldn't be the first time!) but I just had a thought: that it's been 20 years since Dallas went off air (someone please correct me if I'm wrong about the amount of years), AND it's been 20 years that Anne has been looking for her daughter Emma. ...hmmmm.... could it just be that this is not a coincidence? Perhaps characters on the last season of oringnal Dallas have something to do with Ryland/Anne and Judith-and the Emma situation (for lack of a better term). Perhaps Judith knew JR and she is after the Ewings's and Bobby and Anne are just a way to get to him. OR.....maybe Bobby met Judith before he met Anne-(I like that idea better!) around the timeline of the orignial Dallas, before he met Anne. And he dated her breifly, but Judith was in love with him....and you know what they say about a woman scorned.... She could have been smiling and fun loving 20 years ago but Bobby did not recipricate her feelings This would explain her distain for Anne from way back then-20 years ago. ........If anyone thinks there could be something to this, I would love to hear what you think!! Dallas is so fast moving, filled with so many twists and turns that I find if fun to think about 'what if's'.....

Tulip... You may be onto something, for sure. I, for my part, don't really think it's true. I don't have any good reason's just a gut feeling (and my gut is usually 50/50 on stuff like this, my imagination isn't good for coming up with things.. LOL).
It would be interesting though if your theory came true!!!!!

Thanks for replying Midwest. Yes, I'm sure it's just me writing my own script, as it were, lol. But for some reason when I thought-20 years that Dallas has been off air, and 20 years since Ryland and Judith did that atrocious to Anne, letting her live in anxiety and sadness for those 20 years, it just made me wonder if it is more than a coincidence. We shall find out....

It's an interesting theory, Tulip! What if Harris Ryland is really that guy Morrissey who was in the mental institution when JR was there toward the end of the original series? Mitch Pileggi played both characters. With Judith as his mother, no wonder he spent time in an institution!!!

Now Tulip this is a prime example of why I say you should be on the Dallas writting team. This would be gold!!It's a wonderful bridge between the two shows!! I've got to add something else to my mega bucks wish list. After our reunion I'm gonna have to get you on staff for one of my favorite shows. You're very very creative!!

.........Hi July Baby Wow, and oh my gosh!! I did not know the actor who played Ryland was on Dallas (I'll have to watch those origina years again!!)And MP was on at the end of of original Dallas too!? Now I really hope there is some connection-whatever it may be-and that his vindetta against the Ewings does go way back, say 20 years or so.

Love your idea of a tropical island as well. who knows, life can be stranger than fiction-I'll imagine all of the great Dallas posters on this board, visiting over tropical beverages, with little umbrellas in them.

Wellllll...I do love the things that bridge the 20 year gap between V1 and V2....and I love stories about the past coming back to haunt someone.....but since Anne, Harris, Emma, and Judith are all a 'new' family to the Dallas canvas, and not people we met 20 years ago...I don't know that they will be connected to V1, unless it's a 'story we weren't told before'...

---------Hi GuidingLite But since 20 years have gone by, perhaps even right after Dallas, the original stopped airing, Bobby could have met Judith, or JR could have, etc.... I think it's facinating that the same actor that plays Ryland so incredibly well, was on Dallas in the last year or so, and interated with JR!! ....hmmmm, perhaps that character changed his changed his name to Ryland.....
