There seems to be an interesting backstory to their whole relationship. Tonight they only gave us a fraction of it, which led to some pretty fascinating scenes.

The way Bum explained it to J.R. Cliff found Frank on the streets(I can't recall where)and put him through collage. Bum told J.R. Cliff had treated Frank like a son. Cliff said the same about Frank being like a son to him in tonight's episode. As it stands Frankie was just an employee who Cliff looked on as family. I'd hate to find out Frankie was actually Cliff's child after Cliff all but told the poor mentally frail man to off himself.

Yes, Cliff found Frank, who was a young boy, and took him in and cared for him. He wanted Pamela to have a brother. I guess he didn't consider sibling rivalry...

I am in a state of shock after tonight's episode. I was hoping to see more of Frank throughout the series. He was an interesting new character. Christopher's one, and only hope to get that anullment now resides with Tommy's phone. Frank admitted he killed Tommy yes, but that phone could prove she told him, which makes her an accomplice. Hopefully JR will get something done before he goes in regard to Pamela Rebecca.

I am Team Rebecca and I hate Christopher. So I'm happy with the ending. It was so quaint watching Christopher bounce off the walls.

I think Ann belongs either in jail or a mental institution. Bobby is wrong to protect her, and very misguided. Because she needs help. When she was merely running around and pointing her shotgun at people, it was one thing. But shooting people is wrong. I'm tending to think that Ryland had good reason to save his child from her.

    Drew is a drip.

Agree with 98% of what you just said. The only thing is the Ann-issue. While I do think she was dead-wrong to try to kill someone, I can understand it. However, in the real world I would want her in jail of course. But on a soap... Let's just say that if all characters that broke the law would go to jail, there's only be good shows taking place in prisons.

Thanks to Bobby taking the fall for Annie(and his speech to her in the kitchen)I've got to confess&accept I'm a romantic wuss. Bobby standing up for his wife almost made me cry4.(Final one for now I promise)Now that Frank's confided in J.R. Pamela Rebecca's gonna learn a few new definitions of h&ll. I'd be surprised if J.R. doesn't leave a few land mines behind&all of them are going to have Pamela Rebecca's name on them lol.
-------Thanks for this thread DrIvan and to everyone for all of the interesting commments. So great to read what everyone thinks right after watching the show!!I really felt bad for Frank too, and was very suprised at Cliff-especially when he hugged him and called Frank son. I thought Cliff was going to let Frank sweat it out in prison and eventually cover for him, with some fictional tale that would protect both Pamela Rebecca and Frank. Wow-was I wrong there. ......It was good to hear JR tell Jr. no matter what-family was to be protected, and John Ross(Jr.) seems to be on the fence there. He wants to emulate his daddy by being a player, and most definately his daddy is Jr.s mentor and he loves him. Yet he's still playing by his own rules. (falling for Pamela for sure!) I have my own theroy that when JR is not around anymore, (oh, just dread that, as we all do) that John Ross will want to vindicate rebelling against JR, even in little ways, and he will not turn against family ever again-at least that's what I hope for.... Regarding Ryland's 'mother', ugh, I honestly belive she is not Ryanland's mother. (kudo's to JL for her great acting, though!) I think they were/are still(?) a couple-either he cheated on Anne with her way back when Emma was a baby-or he met her later on and they are in cahoots. Maybe she's even got her own grudge against the Ewings and they teamed up for that reason? I have no idea but tonight's show has me asking so many questions-and can't wait to learn the answers!! Good job,to the writers...... one more thing,(for now ) ....to Pamela Rebecca's credit, I think she was honestly shocked that Frank confessed and did I see guilt on her face/expression? Every well written villian is always more interesting when they show traces of having a conscience-jmo... more later as I think about tonight's show.

Just like that song was saying: "The Devil's a lie". I was completely DISGUSTED by Monday's show!!!!!! I wanted to like Annie, but after she let Bobby take the heat for her failed murder attempt, I can't get with her. She follows Bobby's instructions ONLY when it's convenient. That heifer consistently goes against his suggestions, but as SOON as he told her to shut up about the truth that would take her down, she keeps her trap shut. The only reason she finally wanted to confess was when she heard that Ryland was out of his coma making a statement.

I already didn't like Pamela and NOW I can't stand her or her dusty daddy for what they did to Frank. Dear Lord, the truth has GOTS to be somewhere!!!! Please writers don't let these idiots win.

^^^^^and, Tulip, I was thinking the same thing about Ryland and his "Mama".... Either she gave birth to him when she was nine-yrs-old (gross, but happens) or they are truly lovers that concocted this mother/son tale to railroad Annie. I hope that trigger-happy broad NEVA gets her daughter back. Lawd, Jesus, PLEASE don't let Ryland die!!!!! He's got a lot of butt to kick.

Well, time for me to chime in on last night's episode....

First, for me the star's of the show was Josh Henderson (John Ross) and Taran Fahir (Frank). JH keeps knocking it out the park EVERY week and I can't believe how much fun he is to watch. I love little scenes more than I do the big, shocking scenes... That said, I'll explain... The banter between Christopher and John Ross at the elevator was so much fun to me. Clever writing spoken by two actors who have embodied their roles wonderfully. For me, JH is the star of Dallas '12. Then we have TF as Frank. What a wonderful job he did last evening. I felt so bad for him. Granted I wasn't surprised that it wasn't Rebecca that the police were coming after, I thought it was Christopher to be honest, until they got to the hotel/condo, then I knew it was Frank.
I did feel sad and disgusted by Cliff for suggesting Frank fall on his sword and basically end his life. I wonder if he really did off Becky Sutter as well, or if it was Rebecca.
As for the Bobby and Anne scenes... I really wasn't all that blown away by them. I do understand WHY Bobby took the wrap and I don't come down on him as hard as some. Anne is certainly an emotional wreck and being played like a fiddle by Judith and Harris and the do know how to play her, to the hilt.
Judith Light is killing it and is VERY VERY creepy and almost, dare a I say NUTTY as Judith. My brother walked threw the living room during the bathing scene and was like... "Judith Light, loved her as Angela on Who's the Boss?. How'd her husband get shot?" I told him Harris is her son and he said.... Hm, looks like she'd like to be a Mom Wive (aka Sister Wives), LOL.

All in all, I wasn't all that impressed with last night's episode. Probably my least favorite episode of the entire series. The only bright spots were John Ross and Frank for me.

Only two more episodes with JR... Not sure if you all knew this, however, there has NEVER been an episode of Dallas without Larry Hagman, he's been in every episode of '78 and now, '12. It'll be very weird, however, I can't wait to see the drama as it all plays out and to see who comes home to visit.

We don't know that Emma actually heard Judith. We don't know if Emma was even home. We didn't see her in the episode at all. It's very possible Judith was the one who called 911.

I found it strange (and funny) that Ann, last week, could just walk into Harris's home. It's like Drew said last week, "Don't you rich people lock your doors?"

I noticed that about her too Vic Jr. In fact until she started crying I almost thought the only emotion she had was anger lol. I hope Judith Light comes back too. Actually I hope tptb sign her to a contract ASAP. Judith Light's gold imo.

Hello Tulip!!(I get so happy when you're around. If we all were in the same room I'm sure everyone would get tired of hearing me shout gleefully"Tulip's here!!" lol). I appreciate you thanking me for this thread&for your wonderful insights. I thought as you did about Cliff letting Frank twist in the wind a little. I'd also thought Cliff would blackmail Frank to get him to take the rap for Pamela. I never once thought Cliff would guilt the man into killing himself. Cliff's never been boy scout of the year but he never was this cold/heartless. I never in a million years thought Cliff would encourage someone to attempt suicide. IA with about Pammie too. She genuienly seemed shocked(moved?)when Frank to the blame for Tommy's death. She didn't seem to see that coming. I hope you're right about Junior. As much as I love Judith Light(and I do love the woman lol)I'd enjoy Judith Brown all the more if we were to find out that she's not Ryland's mother after all. I'm hoping with all I have tptb grant my wish.

You seem like a very nice man Vic Jr. I appreciate the kind words and all the laughs you bring to the Dallas board. Honestly I read some of your quips&jokes and can't help but think to myself "OhI wish I'd said that" lol. I know what you mean about some other boards. I came to SC as a refugee lol because the board I had frequented for years closed. As much as I liked that board(&I did enjoy my time there;met wonderful people who I still keep in contact with)the place was a doozy. I'm so thankful that Dan runs a tight ship here.
Thanks again Victor Jr for everything!

I agree with a lot of what has been writen so far. I like that John Ross is trying to help Pamela (not sure its real..) I like him remembering he had two parents. Does any else thing Chris multi tasking at the police station was kinda funny. Seriously who has like two detectives to talk to when they go to a police station. The whole episode I kept trying to guess who is going to kill JR, and I have no idea

---I must say, you are the very nicest person, DrIvan, and I'm proud to call you my friend. What you said was so sweet. Wouldn't it be really great if we posters could all be in the same room!! Can you just imagine the GREAT dialogue!? And I would be happily saying, "Here's wonderful DrIvan!!" .........There is so much to say about Dallas, that as July said, I have to give it more thought!! I am wondering, I know that it's been said LH taped six episodes for this season, but am I remembering correctly (or imagining it?!) didn't someone post that those episodes would be strecthed throughout this second season, culminating in 'who/what happens to JR?' I would rather they do that, but I don't know if others would like that. Anyway....more to say soon, as always, my dear friend.

DrIvan, (sorry for second post), for some reason I can't get 'edit' to work and I wanted to add something, so just consider this a "PS" ....Your wish about Rylands's 'mother' NOT being his mother is also mine! (I will not believe it yet!!) It would make for much better drama-imo-if they (Ryland and Judith) were in cahoots to get Emma from Anne all those years ago, or even if he met Judith later and they are working together. It would be compleltely plausible if Judith had some type of encounter/relationship with JR in these 20 years that we did not see!! She may be out to 'get the Ewing's' as bitter Cliff is, because JR rejected her personally or in a buisness dealing. So Bobby would just be a way for her to get to JR? ....I could be so off of what's going to happen but I don't like the sooo talented JL being the mother of a man who looks like her husband/partner/lover! It seems posters are in agreement about this!! (Talk soon dear Dr.Ivan )

-------I holding on to hope, Ewing1, that John Ross is 'playing' Pamela-to 'make his daddy proud' (even though Jr. is attracted to her, ovbiously), but in the end-he is working for the Ewings/for the family-to get Rebbeca and her scheming out of the picture. .....I will hope that until I am proved otherwise!! (hope I'm right though, as I think John Ross is loyal underneath all of that bravado.

------It does like we posters are not liking JL being mother at all! As she look his age, but it's how she treats him, just not motherly at all, that is creepy. .....I just want to say I respectfully dissagree about Anne being the word you called her!! I think she is essentially a very strong woman, but all human beings have a breaking point, and Anne looking for her daughter after thinking that nightmare happened when Emma was a baby-and then to be rejected so cruely by Emma-after looking for her for 20 years!! That was Anne's breaking point, imo. Also because I see her as a very strong person in normal cicumstances, I think she will bounce back F-A-S-T and give Ryland and his 'mother' a real run for their money-without Bobby's help!! JMO, anyway.

I thought it very odd that we didn't see Emma at all Monday night. No hospital visit or anything..., just a bit weird to me.
.... and I will watch again on Saturday morning to see if I was just distracted with Biggest Loser, maybe my opinion on the episode will change... It's weird that I am the only one that wasn't that impressed, maybe it was because I was flipping between Dallas and Biggest Loser! Who knows?

Tulip.... Two things... Hear, hear on your comments about drivank. I love posting with him and, like you am proud to call him my friend as well. I love posting with him (and you too), even when we don't agree. It's always nice to post with people who are respectful, insightful and genuine. I love all our posters here on the Dallas page. It's nice to have a group of people who like and respect on another.

Second... I wish we all lived close to each other and could watch Dallas together. We could fly Ewing_1 in from the UK and everything!!!! What fun it would be.

Anyway....more to say soon, as always, my dear friend.
yes it would be nice to be in one room,i could see it now the dallas music playing and when dr,ivan walked in we'd all yell ivan, like they did on cheers when ever norm would enter the room..lol.i think it would only be hitting that we would all get together at the new dallas stadium and be watching dallas on the big screen, and afterwards we wrap it up going to southfork

I'll say thank you very much&leave it there(if I don't I'd write a few pages lol). And now back to Dallas(or meanwhile back at the ranch lol)I'm sorry to see Frankie killed off. I'm hoping maybe next episode we'll learn he was rushed to hospital&is going to live. He's not a warm&cuddly character but there's something intriguing about him. Imo he'd make a fine full fledged cast member.

Hello dear dear Tulip!First I'd be thrilled if we were all together at some point in time. It'd be like a wonderful reunion with dear cherised loved ones. I don't do much daydreaming or wishing but one thing I occassionally indulge going over my to do list were I ever to hit one of those mega million drawings lol. One of the first things on it is to fly all of my fellow soapers to some warm tropical location for a week of soap talking&fun. Knowing the odds aren't in my favor I don't linger on the thought too long. On the other hand life is always full of unexpected surprises lol. Secondly if(when, hopefully)we all ever find ourselves face to face no that you(along with Victor Jr&Midwest)are in for a few (mock)harsh words from me.You all have said such wonderful things to me that you brought me to tears.....shame on all of you lol. I appreciate you&our friendship Tulip more than words can ever express. Finding a friend like you here on SC has been a pleasant&unexpeted delightful surprise! Mega jackpot or no,having you as my friend makes me fill like I've hit it big already!Bless you Tulip&thank you dear friend!Thank you!

P.S.I love your ideas about Judith! Oh how I hope tptb peruse boards(especially ours)to gage viewer pulse. If they do they'd be wise to take a page from you book of creativity! Thanks again dear heart!
