I remember it pretty well. I did and didn't like it. I did like it because Bobby was the hero. I didn't like it because that was the beginning of the end of nice, charming Jenna.
i remember this storyline from when i was a kid and remembered how Bobby did everything to save Charlie from the kidnapper, only for Jenna to be set up for the Murder of Naldo Marchetta! and then how Bobby stuck by with Jenna all the way, even though she said to him she didnt want to see him again after she got found guilty of manslaugter and sentenced to prison time
and then finally Bobby was able to prove her innocence!
can anybody else remember this well, and did you like this storyline
for me as a kid, it was quite exciting![]()

I remember the s/l. For the most part I liked it, and I especially liked the actor, Stephen Elliott, who played Jenna's lawyer, Scotty Demarest. He was one of those minor characters who appeared again later in the series. Stephen Elliott was married to Alice Hirson, who played Mavis Anderson (Punk's wife). They had met many years before on Broadway.
i liked Jenna - she was a nice match with Bobby as well but in the end the writers decided to let him get back together with Pam - then the dream lol.
she was better off with Bobby with Ray, but she had her chance early in life and blew it lol.
i remember as well Katherine was so envious of Bobby and Jenna, i remember her telling Bobby how upset she was that he asked Jenna to the Oil Barons Ball and not her lol...
I was amazed that Ray married Jenna....he was always so wound up about Donna being 'too good' for him (or rather him not being good enough for her) and then married another 'society woman'....formerly engaged to his half-brother..granted Jenna had no fortune of her own in adulthood, but she was still well brought up, not a 'country girl' by any stretch of the imagination.....it's like Ray just repeated his prior marriage......
The pairing I wanted for Jenna was with Jack Ewing (Dack Rambo)...I was so sad to see this character disappear like he did. I realize he was a sort of 'replacement' for Patrick Duffy when he left, in the way they tried to build up his role in the family....and paired him with Jenna, but just because PD/Bobby 'came back from the dead'...they still could have made great use of Jack on the show....other than to usher in the character of April....and then have Jack depart.
That, to me, is one very large mistake the writers made over time...there were too few 'Ewings' on-screen at the end of the series....J.R. and Bobby were really all that was left for adult Ewings....alongside James (Beaumont), Michelle (Stevens), Carter McKay, Cliff Barnes, Clayton Farlow, and Liz Stock....
I didn't see Ray's marriage to Jenna as a repeat of his marriage to Donna. I think what made Ray so insecure about Donna was how accomplished and successful she was in everything she did. She had political savvy, contacts and influence. Every time she got together with her stepson, Dave Culver, they'd talk politics and Ray felt left out. She wrote a book and it became a bestseller. She bought a tiny oil well and it came in big. Everything she touched seemed to turn to gold. Ray felt he couldn't compete with her and he felt small next to all her accomplishments. With Jenna there was no such competition - at least not in the beginning. They didn't stick around long enough for us to see how it worked out.
I liked the pairing of Jenna with Bobby (only PP, not the other two). But I liked Pam and Bobby more. So I was glad when they reunited. I agree with you, GuidingLite, that Jenna and Jack were good together and they should have kept Dack Rambo on the show. I also agree wholeheartedly, and have said on other threads, that it was a big mistake to let so many Ewings go and replace them with trivial characters who were not that interesting, at least to me. That was the downfall of the series, IMO. It withstood the dream season, but with so many of the main characters leaving after that, one by one, the show wasn't the same any more. As Susan Howard said in an interview, the show shot itself in the foot by letting those actors go (including her).
yeah the characters coming and going towards the end was bad,not many originals was left.i liked jenna and ray, donna and ray would have been good if they didnt start the whole im not good enouhg crap ,alot like they did with lucys marriage to mitch.i look at this with ray his marriage to jenna would work because he learned lessons from being married to donna, jennas pregnacny i felt bad for bobby, jenna shouldnt have called all the shots.this would be a good storyline for the new dallas, have the boy come back and be mad at bobby and have it come out it was jennas idea not to keep bobby in the loop
remind me again , what did Jenna do exactly ? and is it something Bobby doesnt know ??
i remember Bobby chose to go back to pam and it emerged before they were to get married that Jenna was Pregnant with his baby
and then all i remember is she married Ray - i need to rewatch the season as well but its too close to the new season to start it lol!!
and one other thing, did Jenna ever take Bobbys name off the Birth certificate for Charlie ? because if not that could also potentially be something that could come back to bite bobby
or the ewings one day
you remember right, but she told bobby that her and ray would raise him as there own, they did say when they left they would send him pictures, but bobby wasnt let to be a real hands on father, which was wrong.in my eyes,
i dont think she ever changed it,because that was why he got to keep her at the ranch during the trail,
I COULD SEE CHARLIE GETTING IN TROUBLE AND USING THE EWING NAME,JOHN ROSS WOULD HAVE A FIT.DRUGS OR A MURDER MYSTERY,JOHN ROSS WOULD BE WATCHING TV AND IT WOULD COME OVER THE NEWS CHARLIE EWING WAS ARRESTED.
