Well I think it's time for another one of these character discussions
please discuss John Ross from the old and new series both

John Ross, to me, was the whole reason for the first few seasons. It all came down to "Baby John". All of JR and Sue Ellen fights, the controversy between Cliff, JR, Sue Elle, Digger, Jock... It was all about John Ross.

I always loved the little guys who played him. I thought Omri Katz did a great job when he took over as adolescent John Ross through the movies.
Now on the reboot, to me John Ross is the focal point of the show as well. For me, John Henderson's portrayal is far and away the best out of all the newbies. He brings all the layers John Ross should have and we can certainly see him becoming his daddy's son.

Family is everything - fact of life!
and for the ewings family was ALL and in the mini series of 1978 it showed how much a new baby boy in the family would mean to Jock! And then the first few seasons u are right was all about baby John Ross III and he grew up and was played well by Omri! And Josh Henderson has perfected him! And I hope he goes a long way as The new JR of Dallas!

his relationship with Christopher is also very important as they grew up together as brothers more or less and now are both just like there dads - trying to make there fathers proud

i am sure Josh won't disappoint us this season

one of the memories i have of the young John Ross was when he was really nasty towards Cally when she forst arrived and then how he was ungrateful to her after she saved his life

john ross was bratty but rich kids are right.lol. Now that josh is playing the part,hes great as we have seen he can be nasty yet there are times when he can melt your heart,just like larry was ,like father like son,ive never seen anything josh has played in before but hes won me over with dallas,
best memory from the old one was when john ross and chris broke the vase in the hallway.

I love the way John Ross and Christopher are continuing the next generation of Ewings....the new show is so well written....

I do have to say that I was not a fan of 'teenaged' John Ross in the first reunion movie.....just didn't like Omri Katz in the part...but Josh Henderson looks like he could be the adult version of the childhood Omri Katz, so....I don't look at Josh Henderson and think 'he looks nothing like John Ross would as an adult...'

Character wise....he's very complex and driven, but I'd like to see some explanatory scenes as to what made him so devious.....thus far I have yet to understand exactly why John Ross turned out the way he did, based upon the years between the end of Dallas V1 and Dallas V2, since they are ignoring the movies....John Ross moved to England to live with Sue Ellen at the end of V1...and she obviously decided to divorce Don Lockwood and move back to Dallas....so...what was going on with John Ross all this time that made him so bitter and driven? That's what I'd like to know...
