    *J.R.'s funeral announced

"According to TVLine.com the funeral of JR Ewing is set to take place in the eighth episode, due to air on March 11 on TNT.The episode is rumored to feature a number of returning Dallas vets (including several that have not yet been seen on the TNT version.)
UltimateDallas.com has been in touch with some of the actors from the original series, including Deborah Rennard who played JR’s loyal secretary Sly Lovegren. Deborah would be more than willing to return to the series to say goodbye to JR Ewing.
The second 15 episode season of Dallas kicks off on Jan. 28."

    You're very welcome Mich.
It's......I don't know the right word to use......bittersweet(?)hearing about the letter Larry left. It's sad knowing he's gone&that he knew his time was drawing near but sweet(touching?)that he cared enough about J.R.,the show,&the audience that he left instructions of how he wanted things handled.
    Thank you Mich.

yeah its bitter sweet but i think back to my parents mom always wanted to know when it was going to happen and dad just wanted it to happen fast, its weird how different people react to this, and by the way, mom went quick and dad didnt, so neither one got what they wanted.

    Dr.Kipling, thanks for posting.

Every time I think about the history of J.R., Bobby, and Sue Ellen or watch an episode, I often forget in real life, Larry Hagman, Linda Gray, and Patrick Duffy were friends. It will be very sad when season two begins knowing we will inevitably have to say goodbye to J.R. Ewing. I hope several of the characters from Dallas' original run will be able to return to say goodbye and pay tribute to Larry.

Yes it will be sad to say good Bye to JR Ewing. Larry Hagman was a wonderful actor. I hope the show gives him a decent sendoff. It will be nice to see old characters say their good byes as well. No James or Cally. I prefer to forget they ever existed.

You're welcome Viki&Charlie. I know what you mean about Linda,Larry,&Patrick. I came to a point when I'd see J.R.&Sue Ellen or Bobby&J.R. have one of their famous heated scenes part of me couldn't help but laugh thinking of the pranks/laughs between them before&/or after filming those scenes.
The three of them seem to have such genuine love&admiration for the other.

    Have a good weekend Viki&Charlie.

Dr.Kipling, it honestly took me until "Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork" in 2004 did I finally realize there was a lot of laughter, jokes, pranks, and everything else in between when Larry, Linda, and Patrick were between takes. I still remember Larry teasing Linda about how he named his book "Hello, Darling" after her character, Sue Ellen.

While the three of them reminisced and shared behind the scenes stories, for the first time, I thought of them as Larry, Linda, and Patrick instead of J.R., Sue Ellen, and Bobby. I also distinctly remember the noticing their friendship and the affection they had for one another. Thanks to the reunion, I was able to better appreciate the working relationship and the friendship these three talented actors had with each other.

Viki&Charlie I didn't realize the high jinx were going on behind the scenes until the summer after the Who Shot J.R. cliffhanger. I can't recall which show I saw it on but a blooper clip was shown where all the actors where shooting J.R. lol. I laughed until I almost passed out when I saw BBG as Miss Ellie shooting J.R. Shortly after that was shown I remember seeing Larry on something else(again I can't remember the name of the program;dang my memory lol)but Larry told all sorts of tales of how he&Patrick were always goofing off on the set. Over the years I kept reading more things like that&hearing them tell these hilarious stories on the tv interview circuit.
You should take a look at some of the bloopers from original Dallas on the tube. I'm almost certain you'd get a laugh or two from them.
P.S. On another Larry Hagman note. Sometime in my teens I saw him on one of daytime talk shows(might've been Dianah Shore,my gosh I'm really aging myself here). On that episode of the show he talked about some of the jokes/pranks they played on each other, sang a song(These Are My Favorite Things I think)&revealed something about himself that I found so captivating. Larry didn't speak,at all. on Sundays. I believe he said he did it as a test of his will power/self discipline, though I can't be sure that was the reason. Whatever the reason was I remember being in awe of him for that feat. As a result I decided to try&copy him. I didn't say a word to anyone on Saturdays for a good two years.

The bond between Gray, Duffy and Hagman was so strong. I have seen interviews where I've heard each of them call the other their best friend. I guess that's why they were all magic on screen together.
I have seen the bloopers of the practical jokes they'd pull and all the fun they'd have on set of '78 Dallas. You could tell it was one big family and Hagman was the ringleader for all of it.
I'm sure the funereal scenes will be tough, especially for the veteran actors involved.
