Bobby Ewing just a great guy!! He has a big heart, he's loyal and loving and has very solid morals, yet he has a sense of humour and is not rigid or judgemental of others. Just love Bobby....![]()
everybody loved Bobby! and lets start talking now about his character and your memorable Bobby moments - Patrick Duffy played the character well
and he had a great chemistry with the main cast - Pam and JR mainly
anyway i will discuss more as the thread goes on..

I found his character especially interesting when he was competing with JR for control of Ewing Oil after Jock died. He was always the moral brother, the good brother; yet he stooped to JR's level, using blackmail, during that competition to win control of the company. He made the decision that the end justified the means. I remember Pam telling him at one point she couldn't tell the difference any more between Bobby and JR. Of course, the difference was that Bobby, although very competitive, felt terrible afterward and, IIRC, didn't do it again, whereas for JR blackmail was his usual M.O.
he also had a fiery temper lol
I loved bobbys temper,it was what makes him so great,I was watching the clips at the end of one of the disc and he was a joker on the set,I dont know how they got anything done at times.
Bobby was so important to the show and Patrick Duffy was perfect as Bob.
Bobby was the golden boy, heartthrob, hot head, stubborn, smart, trusting, ready to fight anyone at anytime...
Bobby was about the closest thing to a man's man as they come.
Every woman wanted him and every man wanted to be him (even if it was just to make out with Victoria Principal, lol).
Bit of Dallas trivia - Steve Kanaly read for the part of Bobby Ewing......and was eventually cast as Ray....
In other 'almost was' news...Mary Frann (Joanna Louden on 'Newhart' was up for the role of Sue Ellen...and Robert Foxworth (Chase, Falcon Crest) was being considered for J.R.)
Instead of the 'Who Shot J.R.' season cliffhanger - the writers almost had Sue Ellen lace her vodka with a lethal dose of narcotics to commit suicide...yet J.R. would have grabbed her drink and downed it himself instead (which would have been strange as J.R. was a bourbon drinker...)
