Should've Lucy Moved to Knots Landing?

What do you think? I often wondered why on Earth Lucy never moved to Knots. Never made sense to me.

I dont think she should have went at first, she was a grandchild that was spoilied, but in the later part she should have and when suellen was doing that movie about jr,I thought she was going to go,but it never showed them in kl.she could have made life hell for anyone that wanted to be with gary other than her mother.

I'm sure Lucy and Abby would've had some nice fights.

If I am remembering correctly, I think Lucy was actually on KL for one or two episodes early on. And wasn't Kristen (JR's shooter) on KL for an episode???

You're right on both counts CassadineSon,though I think each made only one KL appearance.

------------imo it made sense that Lucy remained at Southfork. She had love and security under the guidence of Miss Ellie and Jock, and her Uncle Bobby. (not so much with her Uncle JR). It was her home, and moving to live with her parents in CA when she had not been living with them would have probably been a scary idea to a teenaged girl. She had her security at Southfork, and she could be the wild child she wanted to be, while knowing she was loved and no matter what she did, she had a solid home. (JMO-of course. )

I agree that she should not have gone...Lucy was not 'raised' by her parents...she had more devotion to her DALLAS family than her KL parents.....for good reason......she loved her parents, but...they were not a big part of her life.....made more sense to keep her in Dallas....

---------I agree. It would have been nice though, if Lucy could have visted her parents in Knotts Landing on a regular basis. Been on both shows-true soap crossover style!! She does love Val and Gary, it was the circumstances in which she was raised that imo made here need the security of Southfork to be her homebase-and Miss Ellie and Jock were really her solidity. Her 'rocks' so to speak. (although I feel odd callling Miss Ellie a rock! She was more a secure loving ship in a storm-and at port!)

I don't know. Maybe I'm in the minority (sure sounds like it), I guess my reasoning for thinking Lucy should've went to KL was simply all the time she spent talking about wanting to be a family with them and then when they (Gary and Val) were settled, she never really seemed to care. She stated over and over she would leave Southfork to be with her parents.
I just think Lucy would've gotten better and more story lines if they'd crossed her over.
Don't get me wrong I love Lucy and loved every minute of her.

Thinking about Lucy's role in "Dallas", I realize that she was more important to the show than it would appear on the surface. She was involved in several s/l's that set the stage for a lot of JR's shenanigans. Examples: Her engagement to Kit Mainwaring, which JR was in favor of (despite knowing that Kit was gay) so he could have access to the Mainwaring refinery; her engagement to Alan Beam; her engagement and marriage to Mitch Cooper (boy, she was engaged a lot!), which brought Afton to Dallas. She was in an important s/l involving Roger Larson, the photographer who became obsessed with her and eventually raped her, resulting in Lucy becoming pregnant and getting an abortion. And Lucy was a key part of the s/l involving Ray's cousin, Mickey Trotter. So I think it was a wise decision for TPTB to keep her in Dallas. I only wish they had continued to write for her - they seemed to run out of ideas and she left, came back, and left again. I'm glad she's in new "Dallas" and I hope she gets more air time than she had in season one.

ICA, with this July. It was sad, in later years, she was kinda blown off. Such history there.

I, agree too, that we need more Lucy on the new show. That has always been one of my "wishes".

BTW, I stayed up till 2am last night to watch Dallas 2012 and programming on TNT was off! URGH, so I stayed up for nada!

I agree - it was kind of sad that Lucy disappeared from the show. She had so many relationships that ended badly; I wanted her to finally have a happy ending, maybe with Mitch the second time around. But I agree they could have done so much more with her character, and it would have been good to have another Ewing remaining on the show when the others were leaving, one by one.

Last week I happened to tune in to TNT at 2 AM and saw the last episode (cliffhanger) of "Dallas" 2012. It was worth it for the theme music alone!
