    heres a few jr moments
1.when jr was attacking suellen and she kicked him where it counts.
2.when suellen told him she wanted a baby and he said fine i'll get you a puppy.
3.I wouldnt want to do buisness with jr.he wasnt always honest
4.he didnt always treat suellen right but deep down he did love her.in his own way.
5.when he used miss ellie to steal john ross from suellen.
6.when he gave gary the dummie company, that was already failing.
7.when lucys mom came back, and jr told her that i'll chase you away like last time, and lucy and bobby came walking into the room.

some great moments mentioned there! especially the one about the puppy!!

another one of my favourite Jr scenes is when Bobby had died and JR was at home grieving and having a drink
and Sue Ellen walks in after being AWOL all day (and wasnt at the hospital when Bobby died) she first talks about what a great day she has had etc etc
then she realises something is wrong and then JR told her about Bobby and a shocked Sue Ellen cant believe it and JR makes her feel bad by saying where
was she? when she was needed at the hospital and Sue Ellen responds - ''i didnt know''

then JR says something along the lines of ''of course you didnt know! becos you were rolling around in bed with that Saddle Tramp or some drunk in a motel!''

he carries on and on and leaves her in such a state!

There is only one JR Ewing! Because of Larry Hagman's brilliant portrayal of him-he is in a league of his own..... no more needs to be said.

One of the things that always intrigued me about JR is how clever he was at using people's weaknesses and insecurities to his advantage. An example is when he blackmailed Harv Smithfield's new son-in-law into letting him see the codicil to Jock's will. The way he set up the meeting, using Serena as the bait, was brilliant. Another example is when he told Ray that his relationship with Donna wouldn't work because Ray was not in her league. If Ray wasn't already feeling inferior to Donna and insecure about their relationship, JR planted the seed of doubt; if he was feeling insecure, JR's words confirmed that feeling. Even though Ray hated JR, he felt he couldn't deny the truth in what JR said. JR was a master manipulator, but he had help - from the people he was manipulating.

    heres a few more examples;
    1. when suellen wanted to adopt and jr paid the girl to leave.
2.when he held claytons oil, because suellen was staying there.
3.when he was fighting to get ewing oil from bobby, and bobby finally won jr says bob,how about sharing.
    4. when he went in the mental hospital to fool dustys mom.

but I think what got me most was when he played on I dream of jeannie ,so sweet, and I would tell my mom how nice he was and my mom would laugh, and then one day I saw him on dallas wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ICAM, Tulip!!!! I don't think TPTB even realized in the beginning the gold they had in Larry Hagman as JR. He certainly was brilliant in his portrayal, as you said, and he made me root for him despite all the terrible things he did. I don't think I had ever rooted for a villain before JR Ewing. He just had that combination of charm, devilishness, humor and slyness that I couldn't resist. And, as I said above, it was fascinating to watch him manipulate people to his advantage using their own foibles against them. Of course, if they didn't have any, he invented some, and that was intriguing to watch, too!

I loved JR. Even when he did bad things, I freakin loved the man. JR IS Dallas. Hagman was brilliant and it's a shame he was never recognized for his work.

JR was a bastard, but you couldn't help but laugh along with his evil laugh.

I liked the scene where he tells JRJ that he's not going to go after Bobby while Bobby was blind, but that once he got his sight back, he was fair game.

That was as close to a heart as JR ever displayed.

I think what made him great was how he exposed the hypocrisy of those who acted better than he was, but really were just wishing they could be as good at what he did as he was.
