According to a story I just saw posted on another TV website, Gary and Valene are coming to DALLAS!!!!!
Both are said to be committed for a three episode arc during the second season of TNT's DALLAS!
Looking forward to this!

HALLELUJAH!!!!! I'd read previously that they producers were interested and trying to get them to come on the show. I am so thrilled that has been accomplished and not just as a cameo like Ray and Lucy (although I would think that Lucy would be making some major appearances with her parents coming on). Good on Ted Shackelford for insisting on an actual storyline before he would appear.
drivan is going to be so disappointed! LOL, good new for sure. Love me some Joan and Ted! (my tune certainly has changed over the last few months, eh drivan?).

^^^^^^^^^^^^Yes they did. Valene had been released or escaped from Treadwell's people&made her way back to Gary,Bobby,Besty,and the rest of the gang. The last scene of the final episode had Mac,Karen,Gary,&Valene about to have a BBQ& looking on as a newlywed couple moved into Kenny&Ginger's old house. A car pulls up&out pops Abby Ewing. She says she's heard Claudia's house(Abby's former spot)is up for sale. Val gives Abby a smile& a "Hi Ab" before she pulls Gary away(I guess not wanting to tempt fate lol). Karen&Abby are the last I remember seeing in the final shot. Abby smiles and says to Karen "Just like old times isn't it?"

well lets see how john ross treats gary,I hope he doesnt carry on about him being a drunk,like his father does,and lets see what suellen would have to say if he does call him that,

Yes there was.Knots Landing:Back To the Cul-de -Sac. Val&Gary are still together in the movie&happy. If memory serves Valene was working on a screenplay of her last novel(based on the year she was held hostage/belived to be dead). Her writting partner,someone working for the studio that's commissioned the movie,is taken with Valene and keeps making advances at her. Val shoots him down of course. I think the studio(or the cowriter)throws a party to celebrate the completion of the screenplay. The cowriter takes all the credit for Valene's writting. After the party ends she confronts him about it&an argument ensues. He makes another pass at her(trying to kiss her I think)and she pushes him away then rushes out without looking back. Unknown to her the man(drunk from to much celebrating) fell into the pool.The next morning his body's found floating in his swimming pool. The police,who've found Valene's earing at the crime scene,question Val. She lies&says the earing's not hers. This puzzles Gary&he accusses Valene of having had an affair with the dead man. This puts a strain on their marriage. All the while this has been going on Kate has returned to KL(I think she came back for the anniversary party Val's thrown for Karen&Mack's 15th).Katie tells Gary she was pregnant with his child when she left Knots Landing. Val eventually decides to tell the cops&Gary the truth of what happened the night her cowriter died. The police&Gary accept&believe her story. No charges are brought against Valene. Val learns that Gary is Molly's father. Despite Val's recent trouble with the law&Gary learning he has another daughter the two doesn't let those events interfere with their happiness. The end of the movie has Karen&Mac back together after having worked out the problems they'd had during the movie(one being Meg finding out Greg is her bio dad). Michael Fairgate comes to tell Karen&Mac that he&fiancee are expecting a baby. Abby(who had been living with Mac&Karen)begins teasing Karen over her becoming a grandma. Her teasing is short lived though as Brian(Abby's son)&Kate announce they too are expecting a child thus making Abby a 'gam-ma' too. Last I remember seeing of Gary&Valene they are overcome with uncontrollable laughter over the news of Abby Ewing being a grandmother.

hey dr... did you like the first Gary, he had dark hair and was on Dallas the first time we met Gary in Las Vegas?
After Ted Shakelford (sp?), it's just weird to watch someone else play him.
Pretty cool that Joan Van Ark always was Valene. I remember when she came onto Y&R, it was extraordinary. Then... she left.

Actually Mid I did like David Ackroyd as Gary. I found him very believable as Miss Ellie&Jock's son. He&JVA had pretty good chemistry too.
I was really really disappointed when Joan left The Young&The Restless. I thoroughly enjoyed her as Gloria.

I think it will be interesting to see how they write Gary & Val into this series as on Knots they continued believing Bobby died!! Unless we are suppose to suspend our beliefs of rewritten history that they were told off screen (& never mentioned again on Knots) that Bobby was actually alive. That being said...I'm looking forward to Jan. 28th!!!!

Bobby's spoken with Gary on the telephone in season one of new Dallas. I'm not knocking anyone's opinion but I don't understand why it's hard for some(most it seems)having Gary back in the Dallas world despite how KL handled Bobby's death.

I love Gary & Val...and would love to see them again on Dallas!! I just want to know how they explain (or don't I guess) the Bobby "not so dead" to Gary&Val. I guess that is considered "suspension of belief" for us viewers!

Koolk4 it appears to me(given the telephone conversation between Bobby&Gary last season)Bobby's death has been addressed lol. Quite frankly I don't see a need for tptb of new Dallas to acknowledge or address Bobby's demise....... ever. Bobby stayed dead on Knots Landing during it's run but was resurrected on Dallas. They were two seperate shows(I know I'm stating the obvious here). That's all the explanation I need.
Seems to me the time to wonder how tptb were going to explain Gary&the affects of Bobby'sdeath to/on the KL crew was during or after the episode where Christopher told cousin John Ross that his dad(Bobby)had spoken with uncle Gary on the telephone. It(Bob's death) didn't come up then so I fail to see why it should ever come up now(or later).
