    Favorite "Dallas" Character?

If you had to pick one character from the new "Dallas" as your favorite, who would it be?

probally chris,he seems smart and nice, actually john ross is really good to,i just didnt like his character at first, not showing him nice, and it was really hard for me to deal with the stuff he said about miss ellie,im sorry but being a elder and deceased it was hard to hear him talk that way.

John Ross. Josh Henderson is amazingly freakishly talented and the character is being written spectacularly.

I tend to agree with you, midwestdj. I think John Ross has become a very sympathetic character, largely due to the acting of Josh Henderson, and of course, excellent writing. It's amazing how much the writers have been able to do with his character in just nine episodes and make it seem realistic. Kudos to them and to Josh Henderson!!!

Sue Ellen!! I love her. She just lights up the screen when she comes on. My boyfriend loves Sue Ellen, too, so I guess you could say she's a bit of a gay icon at our house, haha. And this is coming from two 24-year-old guys who've never seen the original series. And I thought I'd throw it out there that I got my younger brother and his fiancée hooked on the show, and her favorite character is John Ross, while my brother's fave is JR. Neither of them have ever seen an episode of the original Dallas, either.

Honorable mentions go to Rebecca, JR, and Ann. I like John Ross and Bobby, but not anywhere near as much as I like the first four I mentioned.

--------------------------We have to to pick only one character? .....Okay-I will say ~BobbyJR~ .....lol....I just can't choose!! I LOVE them both and can't pick on over the other! They are bookends-the Ying and Yang of Dallas!!!!!

-------------------------------Oh how I LOVE Sue Ellen!! Dallas would not be the same without her and I am just THRILLED that she is in the middle of a lead SL-which is very compelling....but we can't pick three favs. So I will say she is my favourite female Dallas character-of all time!

For the guys, Bobby is my favorite...he was on the original show......I 'love to hate' J.R., but Bobby is my favorite...

For the ladies, Sue Ellen is hands down my favorite....followed by Anne...considering some of the casting possibilities that were mentioned when the show was first greenlit for pilot.....including Melissa Gilbert....Brenda Strong was an EXCELLENT choice to play Mrs. Bobby Ewing #3.

I am loving everyone but if I had to pick someone of the new characters, I am really enjoying Brenda Strong as Anne.

I know, Tulip, it's hard to pick just one - that's why I didn't give mine - lol! I like the way you put Bobby and J.R. together - I guess I'll go with that, too. But I also love Sue Ellen. And I like John Ross a lot now.

-------------------oh, I am so glad Brenda Strong got the role of Ann! (nothing again MG at all!), but imo, Bobby having a wife, as the show began, that he had married 'off screen', in other words, during the years we could not watch what the Ewings were up to.!! .....for me, it worked so well to have an actress play Ann-that is not associated with any other TV/and or film charater. ( jmo, of course.) .....additionally, Brenda Strong has JUST the right look and temperment/personality for Bobby! She has this 'Miss Ellie vibe' to wher which I absolutley adore!!

---------------------------------So then we are in agreement-our favourite character is BobbyJRSueEllen!! And I am liking John Ross too now-but if I added him, the name of our 'one' favourite character, it would just be too long!!

My thoughts exactly! Love all the new characters too, they're doing an incredible job of adding their own talents while preserving the "feel" of the classic show. There isn't ANYONE on this show who shouldn't be there, and I love, love LOVE it!!!! Even got my husband hooked, and he never watched the original. Between seasons we will be buying the first couple of seasons of the original show on DVD and watching those, he can't believe what he missed the first time around!

-----------------------------------It is great to watch this 'new' Dalllas, I so agree with you keylimepie! (very cute screen name. ) I too am going to by the original series on DVD. I am sure there are things that I have forgotten since the original run! ....Can't wait to watch it again! Hope you and your husband enjoy watching too-and then the upcoming Season two, of the current Dallas, in January, as well!!

"New Dallas" hands down John Ross. Josh Henderson is doing a fantastic job.
But without a doubt JR will always be my favorite.

My favorite guy is definitely Bobby! I've always loved Patrick Duffy as Bobby and I enjoy his character.
Among the ladies, my hands-down favorite is Sue Ellen. Linda Gray is so talented and versatile, and it's fabulous to see that Sue Ellen has developed into a strong character for a change. Can't wait to see her get elected governor of Texas!

-----------------------------------Great post KeyLimePie I am really enjoying the new characters as well. I love hove they've integrated the new generation-but still have kept Bobby and Jr. front and center! Plus Ann is a super new asset to Dallas. I think she's my favourite new character-in fact, she is for sure!

I still like JR the best... because Larry Hagman brings the comedy every single time.
Next best... would be Sue Ellen. Linda Gray is perfect in the role. I just love her. Always have.

There's actually no one in the new cast that I don't like. I think both John Ross and Christopher are portrayed by great young actors.
Both Rebecca and Ann are awesome additions to the cast. Least favorite is Elena. I don't hate the character... her character is great for that love triangle between John Ross and Christopher... but overall... she's the least enjoyable character on the new show.

JR and John Ross both really great actors. Now that I know who Rebecca is I really like the character and am excited to see where they go with her.

The actress who plays Rebecca is a really good actress.
I can't wait to see what they do with the character in Season Two.
It seems the actress can do just about any emotion... and she's so believeable in every thing she does... one can't tell when she's scheming or telling the truth.

Casting did a great job with Rebecca Sutton aka Rebecca Barnes.

I agree, YRRanger! There's a quiet mysteriousness about her. You never know what's really going on in her mind. As you said, she's very believable in all the emotions she portrays. Christopher isn't the only one who can't tell when she's lying and when she's telling the truth. We can't either! I agree - great casting job! It's not surprising because "Dallas" has a history of casting the right actor for the right role, IMO. Jim Davis, Barbara Bel Geddes and Larry Hagman are prime examples. The new casting crew is doing a great job, too, although I know some viewers aren't crazy about Elena. Maybe she will become more interesting in season 2.
