Want Christopher to be JR's son!!!

They are making such a big deal about christopher's lineage that I would want him not only to be a Ewing but JR's son. That would hit John Ross a shocking blow and for JR also. Remember JR had an affair with Kristen and it turned out to be Jordan's son but I always thought it was jr's son. What do you guys think?

I get what you're saying, but I hope they don't go there. I think it would almost be expected because the paternity switch is such a soap staple but I really hope they avoid it because it becomes too cliche.

I think it would be much more dramatic to explore a different family angle. I think it would be a better twist if the writers explored the relationship between Christopher and Sue Ellen. She is not only his aunt by her marriage to JR, but also his biological aunt since his bio mom is Kristen (Sue Ellen's sister). I'm sure that Sue Ellen feels a special bond with Christopher and to see her go out of her way to help Christopher, that would drive John Ross crazy. Mothers and sons tend to have a very special bond - especially in the deep south and if John Ross thinks that his cousin is stealing his mother's affections (even a little bit), that would drive an even bigger wedge between the cousins.

I get what you are saying....I know baby switches are staples in soaps but I thought is would throw a monkey wrench in john ross jr plans and it would make jr rethink his relationship with his sons. Plus I don't think that sue ellen would choose christopher over john ross unless john ross did something terrible she couldn't forgive. she will definiately help john ross that's her boy plus sue ellen was never really close with kristen. They actually hated each other so I'm not sure she would be christopher's strongest supporter. What I like about soaps is nothing is what it seems especially in dallas.

If the show lasts multiple seasons, I predict that it will be revealed that Christopher is JR's bio son.

I just don't think they will go there the first season...............

i think that way also it might not be this season but it has potiental for great story lines.

This is a a possiblitly, remember no DNA test was ever done on Christopher. Bobby suspected for quite some time Christopher was JR's. But he and Pam went to investigate Christopher's birth and found a medical record that said that Kristen apprentlly miscarried JR's child, then became pregnant again shortly therafter by the con artist she married who sold Christopher to Bobby (sorry don't remember his name). Now what if this guy and Kristen somehow found a doctor who was willing to forge this document, why so that if JR ever found them wanting to take his kid back they could say the kid isn't his and they have proof to the this fact. This is just specualtion on my part, but as I said above a DNA test was never done on Christopher or JR for that matter. Why JR didn't demand one and took Bobby's word for the fact that this wasn't his kid is something I couldn't figure out at the time, and still can't, this is JR after all. So I think the possibility is still out there. I just wish there would of been a little more delved into Christopher's connection to Sue Ellen, regardless he is her nephew, but maybe this will come later in the series.bb

I would have liked Chris to be JR's son years ago, but I don't want it any more.
Not because it wouldn't be a good story, but because I can't stand history
changes. I love this show, I have waited forever for this sequel, and , frankly,
I don't want all my history to be changed.

OK.... no DNA tests were done, I just read, so, I guess I a can be flexible with this, so
ok.. make Christopher JRs son, but, no bringing Miss Elly Or Jock back from the dead
as different, younger actors!!!!

Jeff Faraday was Christopher's bio father. Kristen lied to Jordon&blackmailed him about being Christopher's father.

I agree, and I always hoped that it would come out that Christopher was JR's son. I too hope that they mention the fact that Sue Ellen is Christopher's aunt, making him and John Ross relatives regardless.

Completely agree. I was going to start a thread about this too. I think it would be a great move. I know some posters say it changes the history of the show, but it completely fits so it would not be out of left field. Kristen was a bigtime liar/manipulator (very hot too) and the 'father' was a blackmailing conman. The two of them could have easily plotted a fake miscarriage scheme for a later payday/blackmail. Of course, it Christopher has both JR and Kristen as his biological parents he may have the potential to be more than a match for the scheming John Ross.

I also agree their should be at least a mention the Sue Ellen is Christopher's aunt. He should be intrigued and eventually want to learn more about his parents background. I wonder did Kristen have a safe deposit box containing many of her secrets? Is Faraday still alive? If so he should def make an appearance.

I thought JR and Kristen were the biological parents - Faraday was just taking advantage of the situaiton. I was 100% sure of this until reading this post.

With regards to "changing the history of the show" - serioulsy? How about the affair Lucy and Ray had, that was conveniently removed from the reruns?

there was talk that gary and val might be making a trip to dallas all the way from knots landing. if they do come back for a visit they might bring lucy back for a little longer.

Actually I hope they don't change it. I know the old rivalry of brother against brother is too good to resist, but I just hope they don't go there the show is pretty good in its debut. They don't need what I feel would be a cheap out or stunt, in changing Christopher paternity which is the way I see it. Although I would like to see more cast of the next generation later added to the show. But I think this good for now to establish the characters of John Ross and Christopher then add the others at least by season 2.

I think if Christopher turns out to be JR's son, he can forget about support from Aunt Sue Ellen. He would be a constant reminder of JR's affair with her sister.

Yes ma'am(sir?)I know Karen lol. Michelle Lee was phenomenal&realistically touching in the role. She was the ultimate best friend,good neighbor,loyal confidant,&fearless champion. I think if I lived to be 1000 I'd be hard pressed to forget our Karen Fairgate.

Christopher's parentage was proven on the original series. Kristen wouldn't fake a miscarriage to get even with J.R. Christopher was her meal ticket for drugs. She couldn't risk JR, or Jordan Lee finding out about a miscariage. The only Ewing with questionable parentage is John Ross. Cliff was completely disproven, but Ray wasn't. Ray and Sue Ellen had a little one night stand that could have resulted in John Ross.
