Last night's scenes with Christina & Owen made me grateful for DVR so I didn't have to watch all of them. They're the kind of scenes that make me wonder why this show is still on. They're not entertaining, they're painful, and they are happening to a couple that I don't care that much about anyway.

However, the main thing I'm tired of in this show is the not so subtle message that women have a place and they ought to stay there. Let's see. Meredith has a baby, and although she did truly terrible things to Derrick and his career, they are happy together. Derrick got past what she did with the clinical trial. Her messing with the trial killed people as certainly as an abortion killed Owen's baby, but Derrick got over it because they got Zola back. Baby = forgiveness.

Callie & Arizona have a baby and they are happy. They overcame their issues, which were not small ones, and became a family. Arizona didn't like Mark but since they both love the baby, they are family together. Baby = happiness.

Christina had an abortion, and her husband never forgave her for it. To punish her, he cheated on her, and her marriage is over. It's clear that if Christina had just had that baby, Owen and she would still be married and all would be well with them. No baby = no husband, no forgiveness.

Thanks, Shondra, that's a great message to women: have a baby & you will be loved. Don't have a baby & be punished.
