I'm happy to hear they are going to solve it by the end of this season. As long as they carried the mystery of who killed Rosie over to this season, I'm happy that they are going to take the entire season to solve it, as I understand that the original story that this is based on needed a lot longer to tell the story, and they would have done it an injustice to try to cram all of the storyline into one season. Most folks didn't know it was being carried over to another season, but it didn't bother me...as long as they didn't cancel it! It's a great show.

I thought it would have been solved by the end of the season and a new mystery would start the second season so I was a bit shocked (and disappointed) when I realized the mystery would not be solved by the end of the season.

I can't wait until the new season! This is a really great show.

Can they really do two full seasons on one murder case? Maybe this is just me, but some episodes of last season literally bored me to sleep. The others didn't, but the overall pacing seemed inconsistent.

I find I rather enjoy the time given to flesh out all the characters, the build up of details. I like the quietness of it. It seems all the more realistic to me, when things don't proceed in a consistent pace. Things we thought were going in one direction, suddenly take a turn to a new direction. Sarah Linden is not perfect, she is in fact, quite flawed. While she will finally realize that this case is more important to her than her fiancé, she will probably still not have learned a thing about how to be a good parent to her boy, which will inevitably cause problems for her effectiveness on the job. There are still so many clues to uncover before the denouement, and I don't mind a bit how it's going about it. I am still glued to my TV screen with each episode, and don't find it to be boring at all. Then again, I quite enjoyed Rubicon, too, which was cancelled because people thought it was too slow paced and boring. I just find I really like shows that make you work at figuring things out and don't think they need to hit you over the head with every detail.

Apparently they can and it won't be solved till the end of this season. I agree GoodWillTalking about the pace of this particular show. It's very dark, damp, seedy and I don't know if it's really filmed in Seattle, Washington, but boy is it depressing weather wise.......LOL.

You got THAT right, Penelope P! I think they film in British Columbia and Toronto, but not sure. Billy Campbell is Canadian. Speaking of the senator, I felt so sorry for him on the 2nd season's premier episode. I won't say anymore, because I checked your profile and you live in Canada, and I'm not sure if it's aired there yet. I liked it very much, though. Lots of new information, it being two hours long. Let me know when you've seen it.

Holder really screwed himself didn't he. I hope he gets a chance to explain things to Sarah and I hope she allows him to help her. I agree about the pace as well, we really get to know the characters inside and out.

Yes, Holder is in a bad situation right now, eh? I was glad that he wasn't as corrupt as I thought, just duped. What's up with that sister-in-law, over at the Larson home? She seems to have some problems, but I can't remember what they are. I feel bad for Sarah's kid...he's really getting the short stick.

P.S. One last thing, did you recognize that tattoo? I'm always worried that I missed a clue somewhere.

^^^I agree that Holder was duped and I hope that he and Sarah will get past this. Yes the episodes are here in Canada GoodWillTalking and I'm surprised that it's filmed in British Columbia because it's one of our more beautiful provinces BUT prone to rain . Did you know that the actor Joel Kinnaman who plays Holder will be the next "RoboCop" in the remake that's being filmed now??.........Cool

I didn't know that! Good for Joel!
I visited British Columbia once, and it was a beautiful area. My sister lives near Seattle, and we took the ferry over to see Butchart Gardens and we had High Tea at the Empress Hotel. It was very pretty there.

I feel so bad for Holder but, towards the middle of the first episode, I started wondering if he honestly didn't know that the picture was a fake. I hope that he gets a chance to explain to Sarah. I think that the sister-in-law was also involved in the escort service. I don't know of any other issues with her.

I do have a question about your comment regarding the tattoo. Have we seen it before?

That's what I was wondering, too. I don't have a recollection of it, and was wondering if anyone else did.

^^ I was just hoping that someone more observant than me had picked up on it from an earlier episode, but it could be that it's never been seen before, too.

This is what I've found and I don't know if it helps:

Emmy-nominated Michelle Forbes will be returning as Mitch Larsen, Rosie’s Mom. And she won’t just be returning, she’ll be a series regular.

A new character includes Lt. Carlson. He’ll be a man of the law in his 50′s who cares about politics. The other new character is Alexi, a Polish-American teen who was in the foster care system. He’ll have plenty of piercings and tattoos that make him look dark. There’s major bad boy potential there.

I just love this show and the season 2 opener was great. Holder has gotten himself into some hot water. Loved the end when he was at Sarah's hotel room and was banging on her door. At that moment, i felt bad for him. I really hope he and Sarah can get past this and i hope he gets a chance to explain.

Yeah......its great series. Season 1 is really amazing. Well, hopefully season 2 will also be the best. Its premiere episode was superb.

Mitch is such a downer. I kind of wish she wouldn't come back, but maybe my feelings will change at a later date. We shall see. The REAL backpack - interesting stuff to come of that, I think. Loving Holder.

Why in the world is Aunt Teri calling that Jasper kid!? I just finished tonight's episode and I can't get it out of my head!

I'm ready to know who killed Rosie and why there seems to be some huge conspiracy behind it.

Was Aunt Teri calling Jasper or his dad, i couldn't tell? But i do suspect she knows alot more about Rosie's past then she is saying. I'm really liking the Aunt so she better not be involved in her death heck i like her better than her own mother right now. I still wonder if that teacher will survive. Also wlll Sarah lose her son to his father? I'm still liking Holden and i'm glad he is working with Sarah again. I thought tonights show was a little better than last weeks. I'm not sure Stan killed that guys dad maybe it only appeared that way.

I don't know who she was calling. Since you mention the teacher, I haven't heard them mention anything about the charges against Stan, or did I just miss it???

I thought Aunt Teri called Jasper's dad, not Jasper. Why isn't Stan in jail yet for beating up that teacher? Even though it might be better for the boy, right now, to be with his father, I think Linden is afraid he won't want to come back, once he's been allowed to stay with his dad. She doesn't seem to care that her boy is being neglected, only that she keeps custody. I think she needs to take steps to see to the boy's needs, if she can't manage it, so her ex can't accuse neglect. She should have known this was coming and that she hasn't done her best with her boy. I'm wondering why they are continuing with the senator storyline. Is there something more to come with this thread?

Why is this show called The Killing? BECAUSE YOU'RE KILLING ME, LINDEN! Hows about sharing some info with your partner, "Oh Snap" Holder? Holder shouldn't know why you two motel hoppers are suddenly bunking with him, after discovering a crayon drawing of dead trees on a riverbank on your refrigerator? You wouldn't explain and, to make me even more frustrated at this point, he wouldn't have asked? For reals? Not to mention that you haven’t fully debriefed Holder on his involvement in the Richmond photo scandal. Oh sure, why share information, when we can keep things to ourselves, thus taking much longer to get to the bottom of this mystery killing? Gotcha.

P.S. That scene with Mitch and the runaway in bed together? Creepy.

While the end of every episode leaves me on the edge of my seat, the time it takes to get there from the beginning just seems to drag on and on!

What is up with this new chief?! I wonder if he's helping cover it up?? He didn't want to help find Holder until Linden said she'd go to IA. I know that he ordered her not to go there in the first place but dang, he seems really reluctant to help afterward.

That is what's making me think that he's in on it. Same thing with the tribe. Why wouldn't they be willing to help out a murder investigation?

What a great finish to the Who Killed Rosie Larsen story. Loved that they showed her final video for closure to the family.

The season finale wasn't that great for me. I thought at the beginning of the first season that Jamie did it. He was always REALLY creepy. The aunt's involvement kinda threw me for a loop but I still wasn't surprised. I was however surprised that Richmond pulled some strings and had the charges against Chief Jackson and Ames dropped!

I really enjoyed the season 2 finale. I was glued to my seat the whole time and i was shocked that it was Aunt Terri!!!! I didn't see that coming. Stan broke my heart last night after learning the truth. I want to see more of Holder and Linden, so i gope there is a season 3.
