Question Which Grey's Episodes are *the* episodes - or the quintessential ones to watch?

This one is pretty self explanatory - I was wondering what episodes people here though counted as the episodes which kind of made Grey's Anatomy.

The ones that come to mind for me:

Season 2/3 (?) - Denny arc but more particularly Denny's death - this might have been the Doc death and choose me episode as well
Season 2/3 - Red Mist (eww...)
Season 3 - When Meredith 'died'
    Season 5 finale
    Season 5/6 - The proposal
Season 6 - When the new doctors arrive
Season 6 finale - both episodes

I've marked this as a spoiler in case some people haven't seen the episodes and don't want to be surprised.

I don't know my seasons well, but the episode when Bailey's son is born and Mer sticks her hand in the guy with the unexploded shell. That may have been a double episode. And maybe that's what you meant by Red Mist.

Yeah I didn't want to spoil it. I'm sure the 'red mist' episode was a double.

The Pregnant Male Episode is hilarious, my favorite one ever, season 3 is also evidently worth watching.

Really all of them up until the season four premiere.

so many great episodes with derek and meredeth roller coaster romance. Bailey used to be strong and kept everyone in line. now she's seems like meredeth's intern. burke and yangs ying and yang. Heck, even the new cast members sloan, addie and callie were great. they were eased into the show and not thrown into a leading arc.

although season 6 finale with the shooter is my all time favorite episode.

I would say the very 1st one for sure...and go from there. This year has been disappointing, this show is no longer must see tv

The first 2 seasons especially the second. That was just epic tv. I'm rewatching it and really miss the time when Grey's was a much watch show. There's so many characters I could do without now.

for me the most shocking and memorable episode was when they find out that they patient is they (and our)beloved O'Maley(sp.)
"The Shooter" episode, when man came after Derek with gun also was the one when you can't simply take your eyes away from the screen and feel your hair are standing on your neck.

I have to agree, pretty much ALL of the first couple of seasons were must see TV. They all tied together so wonderfully, and the mix was perfect between the patient drama and the personal drama.

I agree with all those episodes, but I would definitely include the episode where they found out about 007 oh how I cried and cried. I miss what grey's used to be, where things happened every other episode and you really got into their stories with their patients.. now it's kind of turned comedic. I miss the drama. I miss the "real" feeling I got when I first started watching, when we saw Meredith lie on the bathroom floor with Izzie when her heart was broken over Denny.
