The Alden family was the wealthy family. Cabot Alden was the patriarch. He was a much tamer version of Adam Chandler
Who were the wealthiest families in town and how were they wealthy?
Did the show have an Asa/Adam/Edward Q type character?

remember a man named Randolph mantooth
I can't remember why or how the Aldens were rich. I think Cabot was a self made man though. Corinth was very similar, imo,to Pine Valley. Just a typical small town with mulitmillionaires running world wide conglomorates from the small sleepy town lol.
To answer your earlier question as to whether or not Loving had a Adam-esque character I'd have to say Clay Alden was as close as they got.
The first Clay was later(years later I believe)revealed to be an imposter. When the true Clay returned to town he was, again imo, much worse than t AlexClay was. I loved Loving.I thought it was a great show.Btw it made it's premiere as a primetime 2 hour movie.Lloyd Bridges&Geraldine Page starred as Clay&Isabelle Alden in the movie premiere.

The Aldens' company was called Alden Enterprises as I recall but I can't for the life of me tell you what they did there!
I never got a chance to watch Loving, but it sounds like a soap I would really enjoy! I've been wondering something for a while about a crossover connection from GH to Loving. I did not know Tracy Quartermaine was on Loving! (would love to have seen her on it.) and I am wondering if anyone knows, was Tracy on the show long, and was her husband Gino Soletie(sp?!), a major character? I learned of this from this reveal taking place on General Hospital, several months ago. Any answer would be very much apprieciated.(and THANKS, if anyone does answer!)
Loving was a great soap! And the way it ended was just spectacular. The best ending ive ever watched for a soap, it def beats the recent endings of AMC and OLTL.
Tracy was actually not really on Loving, she was on its spinoff called The City. Loving ending with a serial killer killing off many major characters from the show. The remaining characters all moved to NYC (the characters that remained were all young, freshed faced characters, the "older folks" were mostly killed off). Morgan Fairchild played a new character on The City, she lived in the Penthouse of the building the characters lived in (i think she may have even owned it). After a year, she left the show, and Tracy was her replacement. I dont remember her husband Gino Solettie, so i dont believe he was a major character (I remember the majority of the characters). The City didnt last too long (a couple of years or so). Tracy Quartermaine remained on the show till the end
