One hour til the first episode of the two episode season finale.
If this season is any indication, we are in for an explosive finale
There has got to be others on SOC who watch this show....absolutely brilliant.
And I guess last night's episode is a perfect place to start any discussion
One hour til the first episode of the two episode season finale.
If this season is any indication, we are in for an explosive finale
I am a fan too. Can't wait till Tuesday. No way Clay dies this season, but if he does, I see the next few seasons being about Jax finding out the real truth about his mother and her role in JT's death.
I was just at the IMDB message boards, and it seems a lot of the posters were not happy with the season ender, but I have to admit I was. I never truly thought that they would off Clay this soon, especially since Sutter wants this show to go 3 more seasons.
I especially loved the end with Jax taking the gavel and Tara letting Jax and Gemma know she was not leaving, which most probably means Tara a dead old lady next season.
Loved Jax making Chibbs sgt. of arms and not letting Tig take the seat.
Disappointed that Opie did not show up, bad omen for Jax next season.
It will be interesting next season, Wonder if Tara, Clay or Unser finally reveal Gemma's role behind JT death to Jax, it has to happen. Wonder how Gemma gets her power back, will she try and reunite with Clay in and uneasy alliance to oust/kill her own son? Gemma, IMO, is the wildcard in all of this.
The two things I hated about this season is Otto turning on the club and Juice not paying for not only turning on the club but also for killing Miles. Despite all that this season was GREAT.
YAY!!!! So glad that SOC has a SOA forum!!!
My husband and I watched season 1 and 2 on NetFlix, bought 3 at Target and downloaded 4 online. It took us 1 week. We are hooked. I was really surprised about Otto, especially after what he did to Stahl in season 1 or 2. From what I've heard, the Juice thing WILL come out. Sutter has said that he doesn't want to have one of those shows that keeps secrets forever. I wonder if they'll do more with the whole Wendy thing?! I hope to never see IMA EVER again!!! One of the best finales EVER has to be this show's season 3 finale. Kinda reminded me of some Ocean's 11 type thing.
I want Opie to get back with Lyla... that boy needs some happiness.
^^^I agree, Opie does need some happiness, but I do not think he will get it. IMO, he got with Lyla too soon, Donna had only been gone a couple months when he hooked up with her, he never gave himself time to just grieve Donna, plus Opie will always have a problem with Lyla's choice of career. Go back and look at the wedding, you could tell how reluctant he was right then.
As much as I like Juice, I really wanted him to be outed as a rat, but I am glad that this will be revisited before this show goes off the air.
I can't believe I never noticed an SoA thread before! Tara is actually my favorite character, so I don't know if I will be able to continue to watch if she dies. I honestly didn't expect for her to make it to the end of season 4 alive! I have a feeling that Gemma won't like the fact that Tara is, in essence, the new "queen" and will probably go behind Jara's backs and make some unholy alliance with Wendy to spite Tara.
I'm worried about Ope's future because at the end of the season they really seemed to set him on a road of major rebellion against anything Clay/Jax. Maybe he'll be the next opposing force or rat? I hope not though because I love him. Juice, on the other hand, can go. I hate seeing sissies and he most certainly showed that he was a big one this season. I liked Miles and Phil's friendship (which was destroyed by Miles' undeserving death). I hate Linc Potter/nuStall; I kinda hope they either just drop him or turn him into a secret SoA or the Real IRA who id gathering all evidence against them to destroy it. That would be a neat twist.
Don't know where they're going with Tig or Bobby; I was really hoping that those two would support Jax. I hated Tig's blind faith in Clay. Hell, I hated anything involving Clay. I never have been able to connect with his character.

Just read that Jimmy Smits will coming to SOA next season.
Yup, he's going to be like a mentor or something for Jax.
Son's is back with a vengeance.
hellz yeah it's back with a vengeance!!! Tuesday's episode was AWESOME!!!! Katey Sagal has amazing chemistry with Jimmy Smitts! Who was that woman that busted in on him, her and Gemma's new lady friends? Tara reminded me SO much of Gemma in the premiere. Shocked that Clay told the "truth" about Piney. Wonder who's gonna out him this season about his role in the death of JT. Tig... omg Tig. That scene was stomach churning.
The actress is Wanda DeJesus(hope I spelled it right) and she is Jimmy Smits wife in real life.
I felt bad for Tig's daughter not Tig. This is the second time he has taken the life of and innocent woman, he had to know there was going to be some kind of retaliation. His relationship with Clay is forever changed after this.
I am so ready for Tara to go, she is not reminding me of Gemma, she is reminding me of a whiny resentful child who is being forced in a life she does not want, except she chose this life and now she is not happy, oh boohoo.
On a side note, anyone ever thought they would ever see Peg Bundy like that.
According to EW a major character dies tomorrow. Please don't let it be Opie.
Alas, it was Opie!Last night's episode was phenomenal, well except for the part where Opie was killed. I could feel Jax and Chibbs' pain in my gut. I have to admit it... I did start crying. I think that the only thing that would have made that worse would have been if he would have said something like, "tell my kids i love them". Loved the interaction between Tara and Gemma. Really surprised that Gemma went to Wendy but I also can't believe Wendy (given their history) would believe anything that came out of Gemma's mouth. My favorite lines of the night go to Juice and Carla---
Carla--What, I like to play with white trash too.
Juice--Actually, I'm Puerto Rican
Carla--Stop talking.
I don't know if I got the words exactly right tho. RIP Opie![]()
I pretty much was ready to turn the channel. I am dead serious. And I am the kind of viewer who doesn't try to write a show in my head how I think it should go and is pretty much willing to go along for the ride til the end (unless the writing goes completely off the rails and then I am gonna jump off).
I guess in essence, the burning alive of Tig's daughter should be a tipping point. But I guess the investment has more to do with how I feel. It just felt unnecessary to let Ope go out like that.
But I am with this show to the end as Charlie Hunnam did some of his best acting to date and that is saying alot as this guy has been bringing it from the start
Also, Jax's transformation from "Thug with a heart of gold" to what looks like a leader who now "Just doesn't give a s@@T" was scary.
OMG! YES YES on the Jax transformation! I just wonder if he's going to actually give up Tig or not. I'm in the middle for now. Tig's actions led to the death of Jax's best friend BUT would he hand over a fellow member on a silver platter to Damon Pope.
When he was on Lost, the dude that plays Damon Pope annoyed me to NO end. Couldn't stand him but on SOA, he scares the crap out of me!
databasschic, yeah I think he will give Tigg up. Tigg hothead is what got Opie killed in the end, he carried out a hit with out getting the ok from either Clay, the Prez, or Jax the Vice Prez. Plus Tigg still has to pay for Donna something he has yet to do.
Jax transformation is complete, he is never getting out of the life, wonder how Tara will react when she realizes this is her life forever.
Gemma is not losing her gift of manipulation, she just taught Tara to well, plus Tara is self-medicating, just not in the way they think she is. Tara is not happy and I don't Jax knows it yet.
Damon Pope is one cold dude and I love it, The Sons have never faced someone they could not get to eventually, plus they had to have known that there was going to be some kind of retribution for what Tigg did,and that it was not going to be pretty.
Opie, Opie, Opie, I knew he was going to die, just did not think it would be that brutal. Opie really was dead inside, he never recovered from Donna dying, he tried with Lyla, but it always felt forced to me. The rumor I heard was that Ryan Hurst and FX could not agree on a contract that is why Opie was killed off, I just wish Sutter had written Opie leaving town and the MC to start a new life with his kids, and maybe one day coming back, oh well did not happen but still a fan.
Hi, allI just watched last week's epi prior to watching last night's epi. OMGood gosh!!! SOA premiered intensely and is just ramping up the heat! Did Tara put a beat down on the old madame or what? ha, ha, ha
Whether she wants to or not, she is becoming gangsta, LOL!! And it is official: DAMON POPE IS THE DEVIL!!! ROTFL
I am mesmerized by this actor's fascinating performance--it is s-o-o the opposite of his performance on "Lost." Just how deep does DP's ruthlessness go? I must tune in just to see how SAMCRO are going to disentagle themselves from this psycho. He's even worse than that female FBI agent from a couple seasons ago. But in the end, they got her g-o-o-d, ha, ha, ha!!!
ohhhh man, now you're making me want to watch the last couple episodes of season 3! Loved how they did Stahl and Jimmy O almost Ocean's 11 style. That was awesome!!!!
I cried a bit during Tuesday's episode. It was so sad. I do love how Gemma deflects Tara's anger about Wendy to the madam from the brothel.
Re: Stahl/Jimmy O--Yes, that was a fanfrickintastic coup-d'taat of the situation! Ha, ha, ha! And when they climbed into the van to go to jail, they were laughing and I was laughing, too! I must say those two had every bit of it coming to them.
Re: Tuesday's epi--I'm going to miss Opie's character. I believe Op was sort of dead inside and that is why he didn't mind serving himself up. It was truly nostalgic the history between him and Jax. In that lifestyle, true historic friends who have your back are few, far and in-between. I know Jax will dearly miss him. He is definitely going to serve Tig up for "business" purposes. Although, I really like Tigg's character, too. He is a loyal Son. I am not looking forward to his demise and I hope his character can be redeemed/saved from death. It was misguided loyalty to Clay (not knowing that he was lying) that set off this set of events and resulted in Tig's actions.
Re: Gemma--She is a master manipulator! KS is playin' the hell out of this character!
Tigg is going to deserve everything coming to him, he still has not paid for everything he has done to Opie's family. Him killing Donna plunged Opie into that void he could never climb out of.
Hi, dayon01I just began watching SOA in Season 3. I must admit I am a Kim Coates' fan (Tig). Tig seems so sensitive (on the inside). Is this not the case for this character? Why did he kill Donna? Was she the mother of his kids? What has he done to Opie's family? I could tell Opie was numb and that is why he didn't mind dying. Thanks for the info

In Season 1 ATF agent Stahl made it look like Opie had turned rat on the MC, so Clay and Tigg decided to off him without club approval. The night the hit took place Opie and Donna traded cars, she took Opie's truck and he drove the kids home in the family car. Tigg pulled up and shot her thinking he was shooting Opie, by this time Clay found out the truth about Stahl setting Opie up but was to late to call off the hit. Opie has never been the same since, IMO, he has been dying piece by piece ever since.
I like the character of Tigg, but he is such a loose canon to say he was Clay's sgt in arms, What he did when Clay put that lie in play that it was the Niners that tried to kill him he, he went off on his own to kill Laroi without getting the MC approval and ended up killing and innocent, who's father ended up being a extremely dangerous man. Tigg is now responsible for what has happened to Opie and Jax will never forgive him for that. Jax will definetly serve him up to Pope.
Forgot to say, welcome to the boards Fantastic58.
Thanks! So now I understand Tig's part in ultimately being responsible for Opie's death and Jax is aware of all these events, so he is not going to hesitate to serve Tig up! Still, Tig seems like an emotional ne'er-do-well who means well but it always goes wrong (i.e., causing his own daughter to be burned alive!). So, why didn't Opie kill Tig for killing Donna (especially since the hit was meant for him)? Was Opie ordered not to take revenge on Tig? Yeh, I can see that Jax won't have a problem giving Tig over to Pope! Speaking of Pope--I reiterate that this is a stellar performance by this actor! The reason I started tuning in to SOA was coming in on the epi's featuring Agent Stahl's utterly duplicitious, conniving, and ruthless machinations. I was hooked from then on, LOL!
Thanks so much for the welcome and taking the time to catch me up, dayon01![]()
In season 2 Tigg was the one who told Opie what he did, because he was filled with regret and remorse, Opie almost beat him to death, but was stopped. In the end Opie and Jax decided to work together to topple Clay from the presidency, because they felt he was the cause of all their problems, but they had to put that on hold to avenge Gemma's gang rape.
I had seen Kim Coates in other things but he was always forgettable for me that I really could not tell you off of the top of my head what movies or tv roles I saw him in, but in SOA he is mesmerizing, he is the reason I like Tigg.
See what I mean, dayon01 about Tig? "....he was filled w/regret and remorse and confessed." His character was a catastophe waiting to happen and it ultimately came full circle on him w/the incineration of his child. Speaking of K. Coates: He has had a long career basically playing the same character--supporting the main bad guy. I find his mannerisms to be his signature and makes him stand out among the other bad guy supports. He has aged well and whoever his hair stylist is deserves an award for their hair coloring techniques--K. Coates' hair looks absolutely natural (as if it has not been dyed)! I am not disparaging Mr. Coates for I am a fan of the eclectic. IMO, his portrayal of Tig is the most significant stand-out performance of his career in terms of substance and depth, and he is doing a great job. I hope his character can somehow be redeemed.
It is going to be "edge of you seat" viewing to see if/how the Sons are able to extricate themselves from the vise of the Devil (Pope) ha, ha, ha![]()
Kurt Sutter is one sick indiviual. OMG, I laughed my you know what off tonite, and Tigg, there are just no words. Venus
is the man.
Walter Goggins was hilarious! From the previews, Jax is getting mighty comfortable with the Devil (Pope), LOL! Glad that Gemma and Tara called a truce for the grandbabies sake![]()
I'm not really familiar with Goggins so I thought it was Daniel Tosh.
He has a show on Comedy Central called Tosh.0. His show comes on the same night a time at SOA.
I guess Jax is going to the dark side now. He's starting to turn into Clay. I want Juice to get outed as a rat. From the looks of it, it's going to happen soon!
Thanks, dbc. I googled Daniel Tosh, but I still didn't recognize him.
Re: Jax--Yeh, I think he's liking it, too. What about Gemma? Do ya'll think Jax went too far asking her to spy on Clay? I feel sorry for Gemma. She's a manipulative B, but she really loves her grandchildren and would never intentionally harm them. She was high and didn't want to turn Tara down and miss a chance to be w/her grandkids/Tara's good graces. She should have said no, though.
Re: Juicy--I'm torn w/him being outed as a rat cause it would probably mean certain death. The club is his family and all he's got. It wasn't like he volunteered to rat.

I don't think this is about Jax loving this, this is about Opie. When Opie died a part of Jax died and he is really angry which is leading him to making big mistakes, like destroying a 20 year relatonship.
Gemma has yet to feel the full brunt of Jax's fury and she knows it. Gemma knows she is living on borrowed time, and that anytime Tara, Clay or Uncer can out her and she knows it.
Whoa I think I just lost my love for Jax, poor Wendy. Opie death has completely destroyed the Jax I loved.
