They were working on a movie adaptation I believe, that was announced some months back. They claimed it would be a prequel with new young actors playing the old roles-not sure how serious they were or if it will really happen. They will probably wait to see how the new Dallas does before proceeding with anything. It would be interesting if they did try to do it a similar way with the old actors continuing and it being a sequel instead of a remake-there were so many people throughout the years it would be hard to decide who to spend money on to come back full time but I presume they would at least try to get Joan Collins and Linda Evans if that were the case. As I understand it, I think the Shapiro's who created the show still have rights to it or something, and they make it complicated for Viacom to just bring it back or do anything, I believe they have to approve or something. I might be wrong but that's what I heard-and right now I guess they want prequel movie and not a new series.

Thanks for the info. I don't know how I feel about this Cliff(if it were to happen&if anyone gave a flip how I felt one way or the other lol).On the one hand it might be kind of cool to see a origin/background story of the Carrington/Colbys.Maybe it'd be sort of like that Dallas prequel that aired years ago. I didn't love that one but didn't exactly hate it either. I think I'd rather(again,as if what I'd want matters to anyone but me)see a continuation Dynasty series. There are enough Carrington/Colby grandchildren to provide hours and hours of drama as they fought for control of the Denver Carringotn/ColbyCo Dynasty.
I think you're spot on correct about waiting to see how the new Dallas series will be received.I'd bet good money that if it's a success we'll see more continuations of past prime time soaps(at least I hope so).

My main wishful thinking is that they'll start off w/ an episode of everyone coming back to the Carrington mansion to remember Blake, with a bunch of flashbacks, if possible & most, if not all, orginal actors-including the forgotten ones, Kirby, Monica, Sable, Dominque, & Amanda! The amount of Carrington/Colby grandchidren would definetly be an opening for a new of the old primetime show and I hope they would mention if Amanda, Adam, Steven, or Fallon had any (more) children. But like I said up above, there wouldn't be a Dynasty remake w/out most of the orginal stars appearing. I agree that there would be a continuation if Dallas does well. I couldn't imagine them ignoring Dynasty, unless the Shaprios still own the rights and won't allow it.

I like your idea for the opening. No Dynasty continuation would be complete(nor should be attempted)without paying tribute to tha late great John Forsythe/Blake Carrington.
I,like you,also want to know what became of Farnsworth(Dex)too. I think I remember hearing a character in the first reuninion movie say that Alexis had managed to turn(mid fall)so that she landed on top of poor Dex when they hit the floor but I don't remember hearing if he survived or not. I also want to see Sable again. SB is such a beauty!Sable&Alexis were so much fun to watch. I'm just sorry we didn't get to see more of them go at one another.
Speaking of Dominique,word has it that Diahann Carroll was to reprise the role of Dom in the 10 season of Dynasty.Sadly the show was canceled before that could happen. When you get a minute,and if you're interested,check out the Tube&watch Dominique's grand entrance into LaMirage. To this day I still get a kick out of her line to the desk clerk:"Junior suite??I specifically asked for a 2 bedroom suite.I don't sleep in my clothes nor do I sleep with them!I require one bedroom for my wardrobe&one for myself!" Oh no!Now I'm longing for a Dynasty fix lol.That show was filled with some of the most beautiful people,fabulously lavish jewelry,gorgeous locations,and some of the best old fashioned camp television has to offer! I think I'll head over to the tube&relive some of it.
You've got some wonderful ideas Sweet for the new Dynasty. If it's ever made I hope&pray tptb think like you&implement some of your ideas.

I remember that old lady who said that Alexis turned mid-air and fell ontop of him, but she said he "didn't fair as well" or something so it was no verification if it killed him or not. I, also, heard that DC was going to return in the 10th season. I'll have to check that clip out soon. Sounds like Dominque to me! Now I don't want to have to stage an intervention for you lol but the Dynasty clips on the Tube are sooooo addicting.There's a poster on there who has just about every scene DC did as Dom. I called myself sitting down to watch 2-3 of them.Before I knew what happened an hour had passed lol. Oh&amazon had the Dynasty dvds at a really great price.Then of course there's the Bay. Can you tell I have more than a passing interest in Dynasty

I'm the same way w/ the video clips-I watch a lot of them before bed-start @ 10:30-1:30 one night this summer lol. I've seen practically all the Dynasty episodes on YouTube-that's how I came across the series-online! lol I wasn't even born during the reunion haaha. TPTB def blew it-I have a really funny (to me @ least) scenario in my head of a catfight the 2 of them could've had-the funny part would have been where & who stopped it, imo. Once Karen took over Amanda Carrington became blander than Jeannette(Krystal's maid). I was a fan of ES from her days on GH so I was exicted when I heard she was the new Fallon. Sadly,imo,when she took over Fallon(somehow)became quite docile. Even when she got her memory back,on The Colbys,she never got back that spunk/fire that Fallon Colby always had.Oddly enough though just before Dynasty's end tptb gave ES's Fallon some of the spunk Fallon had when PSM was in the role. Had Fallon been written that way from day one(when ES took over)I would've been in soap heaven lol.

I agree lol. The writing was down hill for both replacement actresses. Karen seemed stiff compared to Catherine. I think Fallon could've had more spunk-the writers weren't really good from after season 6- until 9 I believe. Also I think Fallon could've gotten more b*tchy Fallon scenes if they had used Fallon and Amanda more-espically with a catfight scene! Like one where Alexis and Blake would have to break up-that'd be entertaining, agree? lolWell

If it were PSM's Fallon vs CO's Amanda I think they'd have to call it a draw. If it were ES&KC I think ES's Fallon would've owned Amanda lol.

From what ES was portraying-Imo, it'd CO Amanda....now beat this scenario of a catfight-Amanda and Fallon are arguing by the lily pond; Blake and Alexis are arguing in the study. Blake suddenly looks out the window in time for Amanda and Fallon to go flying into the lily pond and Blake and Alexis have to break it up! that'd be hysterical imo. what's ur opinion? lol

Nah, it was sprinkling lol. It seems like a lot of animals but not to me-2 donkeys, a dog and about 10 sheep. Haha sounds like the perfect cat! My day was fun, thanks lol. Do you by any chance live on a farm? If you do then how I envy you. Oh what a great life!! My father&mother were born&raised in the country but moved to the city when they were young adults. Mother always wanted to forget her country roots but my dear dad never would or could shake them lol.
We lived in the suburbs but you wouldn't know it to look in the backyard. I had two dogs,four cats,several chickens,ducks,a goat,and rabbitts. One Sunday after church I decided I wanted a piglet.A church member had a farm&was giving them away.My dad said I could have it but mother caught us as we were getting in the car to go pick it up. She asked where we were going.I told her with the biggest smile I could muster. After a few seconds of staring us both down she asked me&dad if we thought we were going to like living out back in the pen with the pig

I would think Dynasty, Knots Landing are all in the boat like Falcon Crest. If I recall, no of the children played a prominent role throught their runs. I remember Joseph from Falcon Crest, and Christina from Dynasty but in Dallas we saw the boys age more.. Who knows.. I would love to see Falcon Crest but since Melissa was killed off and Jane Wynam has passed I think that was is gone too.

What about Fallon, Amanda, Adam and Steven plus Kristina from Dynasty? The 5 children of the main family, I would say those are pretty prominent roles. I didn't get a chance to watch FC or KL though, so you may have a different idea than I do. I just think that they could continue the story of DC through Fallon, Amanda, Steven, Adam, and Kristina. Plus the older generations making guest apperances, if not star.

I think if Dynasty got an 'update' and a new show.....I'd like to see Fallon running Denver Carrington, and Jeff running ColbyCo.....and have them still married....
I'd have Adam as 'second in command' at Denver Carrington, and Blake Colby (Jeff and Fallon's son) working for his father at ColbyCo
I'd have Alexis as Chairperson of the Board at ColbyCo......
I'd open the show with Blake's funeral.....and at the very end of the first episode, I would have someone (a reporter, perhaps) in the background saying 'That's his widow, there by the grave'.....and then have the camera slowly reveal the lifting of the veil to reveal...Alexis....and have much of the first season centering on why Blake re-married Alexis toward the end...it could help explain Krystle's absence from the show....because I honestly wouldn't bring Krystle back, at least not yet......
I'd want a 'mystery person' operating in the background against both ColbyCo and Denver Carrington, much like the 'Logan Rhinewood' stuff from the early years of Dynasty....and when that person was revealed...it would be Claudia Blaisdale....who didn't die in the La Mirage fire....it was a housekeeper who helped Claudia get out, and Claudia realized it was her chance to 'start over'......and after years away she has returned to Denver to get back at everyone who hurt her.....having gained major wealth through her marriage after leaving Denver behind....and now having what she feels is the means to get back at everyone......

The main cast of the show would be Alexis, Fallon, Jeff, Adam, Krystina, Blake Colby, Lauren Colby, Sammy Jo, and Danny Carrington at first, adding Claudia a few episodes in.....
I'd also add another character......a man that is found ound out to be, over time....the REAL Adam Carrington......(playing off the season 7 reveal that Neil McVane claims the real baby died during the kidnapping, and this caused Blake and Alexis to adopt Adam as their son.....).....have it turn out that McVane lied about him dying, but that 'Adam' isn't the real Carrington heir after all.....the real one is still alive....and has no knowlege that he is Adam Carrington........
