Ali's Fit Tips- Day 1

I'm working my way through Alison Sweeney's fit tips that appeared in September's Health Magazine. Will I like them? Will I be cursing Sami more than Kate during a custody battle? Read on to find out!
- Day 1- Eat like a kid all day
Ali says: "Kids don't eat fast. They take their time; they talk and laugh. Sometimes it's really annoying, because you're like, 'Come on, it's bedtime!' But try it: You'll fill up before you know it, because it takes 20 minutes for your brain to know your stomach is full."
To see what she was talking about, I first timed myself to see how long it took me to eat a meal. Thinking that it would obviously make me error on the longer side, I timed myself when my husband and I went out for lunch today. Grand total, between pausing to check the score of the games – 8 minutes. I honestly thought it took longer than that.
So, for dinner, it was time to kid it up. And since I don’t do anything half way, I decided to use this utensil to help. After all, when one gets a chance to use a lightsaber spoon, one does not pass it up.
(I may or may not have retrieved this from a cereal box many years ago.)
So, I set my timer for 20 minutes, since that’s the magic time that Ali mentioned. Sure enough, my cup of veggie soup filled me up. And really, when does soup fill anyone up?
Day one and Ali may be onto something here.
