Oh boy! Where do I begin? As a long time viewer of Y&R for over 30 years, there have been times when I was not happy with some of the characters and their s/ls. I even stopped watching for a while during the whole Gloria and the tainted cream s/l where she seemed to get away with everything (with the help of her two boys). That was an ugly time for me as a viewer, but I knew after awhile things would sort of balance out. Afterall, this IS The Young & the Restless, the late Wiliam J. Bell's "baby". The writing is certain to get better...right? Wrong!

Fast forward to inception of the Phyllis and Nick affair. Okay, I admit that I found their initial interaction entertaining. Even though Nick was a tool for cheating, and Phyllis was a two faced backstabber for smiling in Sharon's face while bedding her husband behind her back, that sordid affair was what soaps are made of, right? Cheating is just a part of the citizens of GC's daily life.....they cheat, leave, remarry, divorce etc...no biggie. At the time, it was good soapy fun. Even though I always believed Phyllis' best pairing was with Jack, and Nick's with Sharon, the affair seemed like a good speed bump in their relationships for a little while. Just until Nick & Sharon had a chance to deal with Cassie's death.

My how times have changed!!!! Not only are Nick and Phyllis on their 2,899,398,339, 598th time together, they have systematically erased and completely whitewashed pretty much ALL of her crimes and misdeeds to the point of no return! Suddenly Phyllis is the "victim" and "wronged one" in the whole mowing down of Paul and Cricket from the 1994 attempted murder s/l!!! What???? I watched that scenario play out onscreen back then, and there's NO DOUBT in my mind, Phyllis was trying to kill or seriously mame Christine!! Now it's a hit and run accident, and a mistake??? GMAB! TIIC killed off the only two people (other than the actual VICTIMS)....and perhaps Billy Abbott, who had the cajones to stand up to Phyllis and call her out on her crap! So instead of seeing Phyllis actually pay for what she did 18 years ago, we get to see the citizens of GC run to her defense and blame the victim for wanting justice! The late Bill Bell would be appalled at this travesty!
