GH's lack of committment to couples

As a long time viewer of soaps, I'm resigned to the fact that no couple will ever live happily ever after. It's a soap and, sadly, happily ever afters are boring.
However, I do expect my couple to at least have a period of happiness before they are ripped apart. Liason has never been given that opportunity.
The problem seems to be Brian Frons. For whatever reason, he doesn't like this pairing and is constantly trying to pull them apart.
A few years ago, Frons decided that instead of going ahead with Liason...who were pretty much shacked up in the penthouse and about to consummate their relationship...Journey would be the way to go.
Suddenly, Jason was panting after his brother's wife, the stripper, and lying to Liz. Yet, in typical GH fashion, she was the one who was thrown under the bus instead of St. Jason.
Liz broke things off with Jason and then realized that she was in love with Jason. Of course 30 seconds after she ditched Jason, he hooked up with Courtney and so Liz's feelings became irrelevant.
This time, Frons decided to go back to Jasam even though Sam, the everyday hero, stood by and watched as Jason's newborn son was kidnapped then later she hired armed goons to terrorize Liz and the kids in a park.
Marty McFly's trigger was the word "chicken". If you called him chicken he went nuts.
Jason's trigger is harming children. When he realized what Sam had done, he threatened to kill her - twice.
Yet Sam managed to save Jake from an explosion and suddenly all is forgiven.
Sam went through a very ugly period but emerged a better person who was actually likeable in her relationship to Lucky. Heck, even Lucky - the original Neanderthal - was likeable.
But now Sam is hot after Jason, finding every excuse in the world to work with him and Lucky's love for her has conveniently gone the way of the Dodo bird.
Why? So Jason can hook up with Sam without any strings attached.
Only one problem...Jason is Sam's crack and the person she turns into when she's with Jason is someone who is willing to sacrifice children in order to be with her man.
Why would I want to watch that again? Why do I want to watch Sam in mob moll mode? I didn't like it the first time , so I know I won't like it the second time around.
Is that all they can think of to do with Sam?
Don't get me wrong - I don't have a problem with strong women but the reality is, women are not written as strong in the mob. They are written as easy tramps with self esteem issues.
Case in point - Claudia and Carly.
I have no interest in watching Sam regress just because Frons thinks Jasam will boost ratings.
Good stories will boost ratings not pretty people hooked up together. If that did it then GH would be on top right now because they have some of the finest looking people on daytime.
Sadly, 2009 is looking like 2006! Not only are we going to have Jason and Sam, but also Carly and Jax and Nik and a doppelganger Emily. There's also talk of Liz and Lucky reuniting.
What the heck? Seriously?
Here are my ideas for good stories...
Jason needs to leave the mob and take over the Q empire. There is no one left and Jake needs a REAL legacy - not a trust fund from a daddy who is willing to do more for Spinelli than his own son!
Sam needs to become a PI, work with her mother and continue becoming a person of worth. Keep her with Lucky - she makes him tolerable and visa versa.
Matt is gorgeous and underused! Get this man in a storyline with someone pronto!!!
Liz needs to find someone she can be happy with. Ideally, I'd like to see her with Jason but if not him then please consider Matt or Nik.
Jax needs to find a female version of himself. That man needs a taste of his own medicine.
Carly needs to move on from Jax. If you have to work that hard at a relationship then perhaps it's not meant to be.
Wouldn't it be a hoot if she hooked up with a younger man - like maybe Dante! Now that would be a fascinating storyline!
Anyone else have suggestions? I'd love to see them.
