Lindsay Hartley as Arianna Hernandez

She said: Lindsay Hartley has flat-out Alison Sweeney stuff. I don’t care how many schemes her character runs, people she wrongs, or kids she has, I can’t resist her blend of sincerity and screw-ball charm. And as a Passions fan I’m very interested to see what could happen if Lindsay Hartley and Eric Martsolf get to play a couple that actually gets together. As any Passions fan will tell you, the show thrived on keeping Theresa (Hartley) and Ethan (Martsolf) apart. So, seeing them together would be a completely different show.

He said: This excites me! Truth be told, I’ve wanted to see Lindsay on Days for quite some time now. Initially, I thought she’d be great as Tony or Andre’s love child they didn’t know about who ventures to Salem to stir up some trouble. With Thaao’s exit, that seemed to be a dream lost. But, an Arianna recast is just as good (and I mean that with the utmost respect to Felisha Terrell as I enjoyed her stint). And, although I feel bad Felisha’s out a job, I think Lindsay is a perfect candidate to put the Hernandez Family on the map. Now, I should confess, I’m not one of those people who think Days is turning into Passions, Part 2: Let’s Get Days Canceled. Nope, not one of those people at all. In fact, I think it’s probably talented people like Lindsay (and Eric Martsolf to name a few) that kept Passions on the air as long as it was. SO, am I worried about Days becoming Passions Two? Heck-to-the-no! Am I thrilled Days is adding another awesome actor to the cast? Heck-to-the-yes!



Crystal Chappell as Carly Manning

She said: Is it just me or does anyone else think that Crystal Chappell looks like Brenda Strong (aka Mary Alice aka the narrator of Desperate Housewives)? Just something I had to get off my chest. Moving on… I am apprehensively doing a happy dance about Carly returning. Love her and can’t wait to see what Crystal Chappell can bring. But, now that Billie is out of the picture, I shudder at the thought of a former Bo flame coming between Bope. Surely TPTB wouldn’t insult our cries for more Bope screen time by thrusting them into a love triangle. Surely Chappell’s real life/on-screen hubby Michael Sabatino/Lawrence Alamain will be coming back with her. Right? Right?!?

He said: Truth be told, I liked Carly…I didn’t love her. But, I did/do like her enough that I’m excited she’s returning. It will be a great blast from the past and, given her exit from Salem was a little lackluster, I’m glad she’ll get a second chance to right that semi-wrong. So, all in all, I’m curious to see what she’ll bring (back) to the show. Crystal’s acting chops have only gotten better and better over the years so that makes me even more eager to give her a second chance. My only concern is a Carly/Bo/Hope triangle…I don’t think my “Bope” loving heart is ready for that.



Wally Kurth as Justin Kiriakis

She said: Supposedly the most honorable Kiriakis since Brady Black is coming back and I just have one job for him. Talk some sense into his niece Stephanie and his cousin Philip. Show them that a marriage between a Johnson and a Kiriakis is way more fun than a love triangle between a Johnson, a Kiriakis, a Layton, and a Horton. Thank you. That is all.

He said: I’ll be honest, I can’t remember all of Justin’s shenanigans while he was first on (I was a tween at the time and those years are a little fuzzy), but I remember liking him. Actually, I’m pretty sure he was an amusing character with a mischievous, playful grin, so I’m eager to see him again! I have older siblings, so for me, it will be like the first drink I had with them upon turning 21 – it’s a great feeling to be sitting around a table as adults. Did that make sense? Anyway…my other hope is that Adrianne/Judi Evans eventually returns too…I know, I know she’s signed onto another soap, but a guy can dream, right!?



Louise Sorel as Vivian Alamain

She said: If any ounce of this rumor is true that means the possibility at least exists of Victor getting more screen time that doesn’t involve one of his off spring’s love life. Thus, I am stoked to see Vivian return. Not for nothing, but I hope there is some mention of John and the whole Brady/DiMera paternity thing. Also, it will be interesting to see how Philip reacts to seeing his birth mother. Oh yeah, and I’d also like to watch Nicole deal with the town reacting to a chick who tried to pass off another woman’s baby as her own to win a dude. Can you say foreshadowing?

He said: If this happens, I will be one excited Scooper! Seriously, Viv was my gal! She, Kristen, and Nicole were three of my favorite “Salem Witches”…Nicole is back which I love, I still hold hopes (although I shouldn’t) that Kristen could return someday, but if Viv came back…I’ll be so thrilled I’d probably be nicer to Dr. Dan and Chloe…ok, that might be a bit much…I’ll simply be happy and treat myself to some Chinese food and wine, that’s much more believable. Now, if she does return, I wouldn’t be surprised if Vivian mentions John Black. I could see her spending time with him and Marlena in Switzerland and reporting back to the Bradys. Heck, the show got mad props in my eyes for having Viv pay for John’s funeral when he “died” as a result of the hit and run. I also I think it would be in the shows best interest to have her interact with Sami and Brady, since she is Brady’s aunt, of sorts, and Sami’s former scheming mentor (again, of sorts). So I am a bit (blindly) optimistic!
