The Williams Family on Knots Landing

One thing that has always bugged me about Knots Landing is how much trouble the show had writing for Frank, Pat and Julie after their introduction. I loved the Williams family and was so frustrated that they had no story after their initial witness protection story. I remember Lynne Moody voicing her frustrations in TV Guide and then a few months later her character was gone. Julie and Frank had some good stuff after Pat was gone, but I always thought there was so much lost potential with those three.

I met Lynne Moody on a cruise once, but I was too shy to let on that I knew her from KL!:*)

Come to think of it, I saw Julie Harris filming a movie on the streets of Vancouver once too!:D

Wasn't Julie played by KMK, who plays Lainey on GH now?:-?

Yes, when Kent was a child she did indeed play Julie.

There was a time on KL when I was pretty sure they would write Pat in Gary's arms, there was some chemistry between them when they appeared in a few scenes. This happened after Danny was introduced and Gary was worrying over Val and slept in his car on Seaview Circle.

To let Pat die was a big mistake of the writers, if they wanted to get rid of a Williams they should have eliminate Julie - that would have make better drama and that girl was never given decent writing.

The deaths of Laura and Pat and the disappeared Wards were the biggest low-points of KL in my opinion. Instead we had to endure the teenage adventures in Mexico, that woman from the telephone (Amanda) and Diana Fairgate with her killer lover on the run. But I still love KL!
