I think most of us have noticed a few posts here and there that are in violation of various guidelines, and along with them, some disruptions and/or arguments following these posts.
Just so everyone is on the same page, as per SOC guidelines and policy, the only appropriate response to a post in violation of the site guidelines is no response at all on the board, and an RPP to the moderation team. :)
We appreciate the good intentions behind some of the rebuttals, but responses not only make thread disruptions bigger, all the attention gives the original disruption a reward and encourages further baiting.
Sadly, inappropriate responses to problem posts put the responder in the same boat as the original poster - meaning, if your post is also in violation of the guidelines, even though you're reacting to someone else, you could be in trouble, too.
Thanks, guys :)
