*Another World Returns* - Update #11

Since I believe that this board poo-poos links to other websites, let me just encourage all of you AW fans to go to the TV Guide website and search for Michael Logan's April 27 article about the new AW website launched by TeleNext Media that will feature our favorite characters (including Rachel, Carl, Amanda, Cass, Lila, Felicia) 10 years after we last saw them in Bay City. :D:D:D:D Seems our interest in the hulu.com epi's helped TeleNext decide that we do still love our *World*.

This is a pretty cool idea. It would be great if it could also be done for other canceled soaps.

I'll try to avoid big spoilers for those who haven't read the site, but I'm glad that my favorite couple is still together and a little surprised that no babies have been born to any main characters since the show went off the air.

It is fan fiction ( offically sanctioned apparently), not new episodes.
The story was funny, several witty sarcastic references to how strange life in Bay City could be. I plan on reading along.
Anybody have any idea how often we'll get new "episodes" ?

I just read Episode 1. I didn't think it was great, but I didn't think it was bad either. I'm all for AW returning in any form. Reading about the characters is not the same as seeing them on a tape, but you don't have to worry about the availability of the actors. :-7

Having us vote on what's going to happen next is an interesting experiment. Voting starts Monday and I'm anxious to see how it turn out. I'm definitely going to give this a try! :)

If I'm understanding Michael Logan correctly, I think there's just one episode per week. I guess that's better than nothing! :D

Not happy that they kept Jake and Vicky dead. Everything that happened on As the World Turns should be ignored. Like how Hoagie ignored the AW fan base. It's fan fiction yet they kept that detail intact? Pass.

I am quite enjoying "catching up" with our favorite AW characters. When I read these storylines, I can hear the voices of Carl, Rachel, Cass, etc. Obviously, it's not the same as seeing the stories play out, butt it's better than nothing!

I have loved reading and catching up with our favorite citizens of Bay City! I'm on episode 17 and can't wait for more. This was a genius idea and am hoping that P&G eventually does the same for Guiding Light since that is being taken from us now as well. I'm so glad that Lucas and Frankie have been ressurected and was excited to hear that the writer has been thinking of ways to ressurect Jake. Surely she can ressurect Vicky since her body was never found. Jake was shot on screen on ATWT, so that might be tougher to do, but in the soap world, no one is ever really gone. That's what I love about soaps! I'm so excited about Another World Today! I'm telling everyone about it! Keep it going by spreading the world! (yes, I intended to type world there:-7)

I love this idea as well and am going to start reading from the beginning. GL and AW are my two soaps, and as of Friday afternoon both will be gone from TV. Hopefully, as Jody said, this will happen for GL as well. I still remember that shocking last scene from AW like it was yesterday. My jaw slammed through the floor! (I always wondered what he was drinking.)

My one question before I start...do these AWT episode pick up where the last episode left off, or has time passed as it has for us as well?

Hey Mark, the story picks up 10 years later but it's as if the last 10 years were fairly normal and not much has changed...until the new story picks up. Enjoy reading

It's not video, it's a written story, but it's real easy to jump right in. Go to www.anotherworldtoday.com (http://www.anotherworldtoday.com). Just be warned that the website jumps right into the current "episode". You have to go to the bar at the top of the screen and click on "episodes" to go back and read them since the very first one. It only started this past spring and it's one new episode a week so you can catch up in a day or so. Enjoy reading and catching up. There's some good stuff going on.
