The latest ish of Entertainment Weekly reports that the new version of MP is underway for next year, and it will be based on the son of Jake Hanson ( Grant Show ). No word if GS will be a cast member or if it will be a spinoff of 90210 like the original was!

i love melrose place!!!!!!!
i hope michael is on it also, i loved him,
maybe jake and jo will be together. but i think the show will be about his kid. and i dont think i will watch if amanda-heather isnt on the show

Maybe they had a son? It would be a better way to tie the show to the old one if he was the son of Jake & Jo. Is Daphne Zuniga still doing One Tree Hill? Someone needs to contact her! And Heather Locklear too!:D

Wasnt Jake with Jane at the end of the show? She had a baby and they named it after Amanda(Heather Locklear). Jake did have a son from a previous relationship. He didnt raise him though. He was on one epi...he did know Jake was his Dad. Maybe it could be about him?

No, Jake was long gone when the show ended. Kyle was with Jane at the end of the series.

No Jake left at the end of season five. He was married to Alison (she dumped Billy permanently at the end of season four and Billy had moved on to Samantha by this point) when his old girlfriend with the son that you mentioned turned up again. By this time, the boy had been told that Jake was his father. Anyway, Alison had started drinking again as she had had a miscarriage and couldn't have any kids. Alison decided to divorce Jake and gave him her blessing to go off and become a family with his old girlfriend and son.

As for Jane, as beard_rrp says she was with Kyle at the end of the series and was pregnant. the baby was Michael's though but Kyle didn't care and wanted to raise it as his own.

Melrose Place was my favorite primetime soap EVER and I hope they do the remake justice....they need to have a cavalcade of interesting, complex characters like in the original

^Eh, not really, 1shoefan. She used to be on "7th Heaven" and I've seen clips of her from an upcoming CSI episode and she reads her lines in a monotone...she lacks a "realness" in her acting.

I don't think she's very good.

Remakes like this don't tend to work. :/ I was SO looking forward to the new 90210 and that turned out to be a bust. I'll tune in for the first few epis of MP, but I won't hold my breath that it'll be good...especially with the likes of Ashlee Simpson as one of the leads! :o

I did read where Heather Locklear agreed to make an appearance on the new MP, but Ashlee Simpson...?:-? I hope they surround her with a great cast then! I love the song La La, she should stick to her singing!:-7

I loved MP and would watch reruns on SP, speaking of which, why did they take it off, it's called Soapnet but they don't show soaps anymore besides the ones that are on now, they show more movies than soaps.

I saw teh 7th Heaven episode that Ashley was in and it was accually good. I haven't seen her act since and I don't know how good she is. If she's a lead she better be good or it will kill the show.

Now Daytime Confidential is reporting that Heather Locklear almost signed on to the new Melrose Place, but didn't. The producers also could not think of a reasonable way to bring her back anyway, since Amanda and Peter faked their deaths in the last episode.

However, Lisa Rinna (Taylor McBride) is actively campaigning to get back to Melrose, wearing a billboard on the actual Melrose Avenue! I would love to see her back!:D

I thought Mr. Matthews of 90210 would be a good spin off character. He could even be on both shows, but his 90210 role would be downsized to just school scenes and his MP role would be upgraded. I got the idea this past episode of 90210 when we saw his apartment. I could have sworn that was the MP set!!! Pool and everything!
