Don't get me wrong, I'm addicted to this show. Mostly for Naomi. I wish they showed more of her and less of all the supposed goody goodies.

But anyway, my main problem is that absolutely NOTHING about this show is believable.

First of all, they all look like they are in their early twenties, the same age as Mr. Matthews.

Second of all, they all ACT like they are in their early twenties! 16 year olds don't all run around leading the same lives as adults. It annoys the crap out of me when they talk about being in high school or when they talk about their ages. They're all living the exact same lives that the 30 year olds on General Hospital or Friends live... except in a building full of classes and teachers.

If you're going to set a show in a high school, USE PEOPLE THAT ARE THE AGE THEY NEED TO BE TO PLAY HIGH SCHOOL PARTS! And for crying out loud, have them act their age.

If they were going to go this route, they should have started them all off in college!

The fact the Adrianna is pregnant with Ty's baby is ridiculous. She said she got pregnant before her stint in rehab.....Why didn't the rehab center know she was pregnant already? Don't rehab have blood tests/urine test done...on a person.

I didn't think that Adriana and Ty actually hooked up. I thought it was just a trick she played on Annie. That means that she was still doing drugs without knowing she was pregnant. I agree that some of the things aren't realistic, but it is very rare that tv shows hire actors who are actually the age of the characters they are portraying. I'm sure that part of it is the teens wanting to act older than they are. It happens all the time with kids trying to dress or act older.

At least people generally look their character's ages. maybe not exactly, but at least a little.

None of these boys or girls look 16 to me. At least I never knew anyone that looked like that when I was 16. But then again Chicago is quite different from the Hills. lol.

It does seem far fetched but with Ty's behavior, as of late, I can by that he lied to poor whittle Annie. God, I hate that bitch.

Yeah 90210 is very unrealistic compared to the original. But I've learned to deal with it. . .even when it does get overly annoying.

What HS would do Spring Awakening, isn't it about sexuality? HS is so quick to shut stuff like that down....

Out of all the students, the actor who plays Navid is the oldest, being born in 1980 and the rest were born between 1985-1989. So it isn't that far fetched for them (other than Navid) to be high school students. A lot of people don't look their age, myself included. We still watch the show even if it is hard to believe most of the time.

^Navid actually looks younger than Naomi, Rya, etc.

Maybe everyone already knew this but I just saw it so bear with me! Silver and Ethan are a real-life couple. I think they're cute together.

^Eh, I think Ty(Adam Gregory) and Adrianna(Jessica Lowndes); Naomi (Annalynne McCord) and George (Kellan Lutz) look better. These couples would have gorgeous kids.

Not only that, but Spring Awakening is still on broadway, usually you can't ever do HS productions of shows still on Broadway.

I loooove SA, so it was extra painful to see these people try to pull it off.#-o

This is surprising to me. I honestly find the character of Navid to be the most realistic one! I didn't know he was that much older.

And I agree, we should all be ashamed of ourselves for watching this show. lol.

It drives me crazy but I DVR it every week anyway.

Jessica and Adam are reportedly dating in real life.

Lets see, Tori Spelling, Brian Austin Green and Jennie Garth were all about 18 when the first one started. Ian Zeiring was 26. Jason Priestley was 21, and Luke Perry was 24. None of them were 16ish but to me they all looked older. Though I completely agree that the stories seemed more realistic.

I don't think that that the prob is that its unrealistic but rather the fact that
First the sl are rush like they made adrianna a druggie now she is preggers like theirs too much drama around her. She is a good character but the drug thing was enough for this season but it was over afer few ep. Annie and ethan are dull characters and they are dull as a couple that don't have IT and for me personaly they shouldn't have never cast grimms as annie and the same goes for the actor that plays ethan. They have no charisma. Naomi is really good i didn't like the actress at first but she improved quickly, get rid of ethan and put ty and ozzy and george(kellan lutz) instead. Now get rid of annie or recast her.

^^^^I don't know....that Ty character is pretty easy on the eyes.

I see nothing in the Ethan or Navid characters. Dixon is ok.

But Ty.....:D:x

In the original, a lot of the actors were older but the difference between this series and the orginal is that......the actors were believable in the roles.

I look at these guys and the only characters who seem true to their ages are Adrianna, Naveed, Dixon and probably Annie.

The SL's are so plot driven and you dont even have a chance to digest one outrageousness before the next one pops up. Everything that took years and years to develop in the original is thrown at you faster than you can blink in this one.

The jury is still out for me on the entire thing but, I will say that Adrianna and Naveed and Dixon are the only ones on this show I'm feeling.

I'm around plenty of teenagers often enough. The most drama I hear is...

"I've got a crush on Billy but I don't know how to tell him"

or

"I really want this job at Game Stop, I hope I get it"

Even when I'm talking to teenagers and trying to help them with deeper issues they never act the way the people on 90210 do.

Maybe it's the horrible acting. Everyone in the original was so good. The only really good actor I've seen on this show so far is from the girl who plays Rhonda... and she's only been on there for like 2 episodes.

I was watching with my 16 year old daughter the other night and all of a sudden she goes "how old are these people????" because what they were saying didn't make sense to here for high schoolers. With that said it is probably a little more realistic in Beverly Hills than elsewhere. I saw Spring Awakening on broadway last summer, and it is awesome, but it ended in January, and is now touring, so if you get a chance check it out in your area. I agree they wouldn't do that show in high school though.

Well I understand what your saying BUT the cast of Dawson's Creek was old as hell trying to pass off as teenagers... and they used these big words that normal teenagers would NEVER use... so I understand where 90210 gets their logic 4rm!!!

I graduated high school in '07 and, truthfully, 90210 is doing a pretty good job at selling some of this teenage-related stuff.

My class went through (several) teenage pregnancies ... and the jocks being dicks. The new kids getting harassed. Maybe my school was different, but that's the only kind of high school I know.

If they used actors that were actual teenagers the network, studio, or production company would have to school them on set since they still would not have graduated from high school. Then they would have to deal with the parents of these kids. Both of these situations make it that the shows use actors 18 or older so they wouldn't run into these problems.

The lastest 90210 seems pretty much grounded in the times that it is set in , that is the current day, and it presents teenagers pretty much as they are right now. The original ,on the other hand, was very cheesy. Especially from the very beginning.
