Did anyone else think that the 1st episode sucked?

I got online to see what the feedback was and I'm shocked so many people liked that. The acting of the newbies was painful. They completely changed Leo. The pace was horrible and they just skipped over things. It was really really awkward and disjointed. I loved last season and I'm so bummed because I really hated this first episode. I will give it one more week and if it's just as bad next week, I'll stick to daytime.

Sorry....I actually LOVED it. I liked the pace. I liked that they are introducing the newbies slowly....I found myself more interested in them that way. I found the newbies acting better than last season. I liked that Robin has a friend....what a soap is suppose to be about, friendships and bonding. I also liked the fact that there was an actual hospital case, hmmmm, what a concept considering GH should centered around the hospital. I could go on and on....I am a scrubs fan, so I am very happy with them last night, they were fun and mature and they had screen time:o

Best part for me....no Jason worship (since I have had enough of that on GH) and no Leyla....yahoo!!!!

I loved it too. I love the fast pace and the newbies were okay. I espeically love having Billy Dee Williams back. I love that mans' voice and when he said "Can I join you?" I just about melted in my chair. I also like the fact that Robin has a friend besides Elizabeth who knows her just as well as we do. Scrubs relationship on NS is much better than what they were portaying on GH. The only dissapointment of the night for me was the death of Dr. Ford and you didn't see the arrival of Jagger and Robin's reaction to seeing him for the first time. But other than that I loved the show and how that the writers of GH take notes.

I don't think it started out as good as the first season episode, but I wouldn't go as far as it sucked. It could of been better on a few aspects, like Jagger's entrance- they could of shown him surprising Robin, not Patrick:] I liked how they made it look like the girl driving the car was drunk, and turned out she was sick and her boyfriend copped out. I loved that Billy Dee Williams came back again. Overall, it wasn't too bad, IMO

Ok Jagger is the older brother, Stone came next and the sister was named Gina. Jagger and Karen were in love and eventually married and left GH, the short lived soap called Port Charles had Karen return divorced from Jagger so we never really learn WHY they divorced or how long ago it was. Karen ended up dying on that Soap and I belive it was from vampires or something(yes explains why the show had such a short run, i never actually watced it). Stone was never married, he and Robin were each others very first and best loves, they were lovers and then it was discovered that he had AIDs, so marriage was not possible, he died approx. a year after first being diagnosed but not before learning that Robin had also been infected with the HIV virus. I suggest you go to youtube to revisist the storyline as it certainly was was one of the best GH ever had and well worth watching again.

I agree with you 100%. I am watching next week to see if it gets better and then I will just hope they don't put so many things in NS that crosses over to GH that I don't get lost there. %(

ICAM w/both of you. I thought it was ridiculous. The newbies are so uninteresting. The scene with Dr Ford spurting blood and Robin laying on a gurney, then what???? I thought I missed something. Cut right to a day or two later? And all the hoopla about ASJ coming back and we don't even get a scene where he first sees Robin? And not for nothing, but Miss my feet are so swollen and then she is walking around in 3 inch heels- GMAFB. I thought it was very poorly put together. I will try next week and if it's not any better, I'll be done.

Nope loved it. This is what the first season should have been. If you ask me the first season sucked. Guza couldn't maintain the ratings from the first episode because he was hellbent on destroying SCRUBS. Sorry you were disappointed with the first episode but this writer knows what he is doing unlike Guza. If we had him writing for GH there would be no problems. :D

Nope. LOVED IT. Maybe you were looking for daytime pace on a nighttime show. NS2 is a prime time show and I thought it was GREAT. The definition of awkward and disjointed for me is GH Guza style. So if that's what you like you won't like Night Shift.

However, I was surprisingly surprised how much I enjoyed Tuesday nights airing of the new season. I was shocked at the Dr dying, I was shocked that the 2 Dr's were brothers, I was shocked one was gay. My sister in law had a stroke at a young age, so that story affected me as well too.
I found humor in it with Patrick and Jagger. And then the ending, had me confused, is there something wrong with the little boy of Jaggers??

I am happy.... I am also extremely excited that Robert
will be on in a couple weeks.... Robert has been one
of my favorite characters of all times, and , bringing him

God how I wish this guy could come to GH, he is a good writer and he knows his history and he puts mentions in subtly without shoving it down out throats(when Robin was sneaking back in we saw the 'Tania Jones Daycare Center' which was awesome because it was a nod to the past and its also my name), hes also funny and can right an actualy conversation and does things for a reason and not just to be an a-hole, e.i. when Patrick put her on early maternity leave he did because he cared not just because he had power and we know she's back next week so he didn't push that hard. As far as I'm concerned this show is 1000x better than anything Guza ever wrote.

Also silverchaos, aka one of the biggest Patrick haters EVER, is calling him Patrick so its already working miracles :P Sorry silver, but seriously me, you and rest of the Robin fans, Patrick fans, and Scrub fans better enjoy the next couple of weeks cause we're sure not gong to enjoy GH babe. I swear I had the biggest smile on my face EVER during the whole show, it was that great. I mean really, Scrubs, when written well, can make me forgive an forget a lot. It was like watching something out of a fan fic! <3

OK, I thought it was fair. I don't like the new characters I wish they brought back Kelly Lee and Lainey, (there was another dr. that Kelly was involved w/ I can't remember his name). I also miss Jason, it was his "non mob" time where he actually was a friend to Robin! I loved every episode last season and felt this one was a little bit disappointing. And what was the purpose of having Jagger and Karen divorce!! They already killed her they couldn't leave it at that!!

I loved the Scrubs fluff, as I do the couple, but to each their own. I wonder who Lil Stone's mother is, I don't think it's Karen. But I loved the "Aunt Robin" at the end. And I too am interested in Robert being back.

I swear I'd rather not have Robin and Patrick on GH for the next couple weeks. I already had 30 minutes of airtime in one episode, something I don't think GH has every done for them in a week, hell sometimes even a month. I'd rather Guza not touch my couple.

I thought the pacing was a little slow considering last years was on full throttle but it was an okay episode.

I usually give a show 10 minutes and switch. So I am a lousy one to ask..however, I loved the show. So much better than last years. Robin & Patrick are carrying the show, and surprisingly Robin ususally makes me sick!!

The best thing about that eposide was the car crashing through the hospital and the death of Dr. Ford. They built it up for so long and it turned out to be nothing.

I enjoyed it, but found myself wanting more personality from most of the new interns. For some reason they do not look interesting to me.

After I saw the UNEXPECTED AND SHOCKING scene of the Chief getting glass pulled out of his neck - and then he's dead - I just assumed it was an inventive way to get rid of an actor. Instead of just writing him out, they give him an exciting entrance - as quick as it was.

One thing that I see going on is that the more established actors, like Robin and Patrick have bigger than life personalities and the newbies seem quite grey in comparison, as if they are not comfortable yet to actually have a personality and just not say the lines.

I'll be watching it every week.

It was actually pretty good IMO. The only thing that kind of irked me was the lack of original nightshift characters. I was hoping to see Leyla or Nadine on the show as well. Hopefully they all make cameos down the road.
