I just read an article on yahoo news that says Shannen Doherty will reprise the role of Brenda on the new 90210 series! It's not yet confirmed but there is a very strong inside source that says it so! They have not yet decided how many episodes she'll be on, but she will be onscreen against Jennie Garth's Kelly. Tori Spelling is apparently not going to be on the series premiere due to personal reasons.

I watched ET Canada a few weeks ago, and reportedly, Jason Priestly is interested in directing episodes of the new 90210, but says he will likely pass at appearing on screen. But, you never know...

Jennie Garth being on the show is a great idea. I could see her as a counselor or something. However as a nod to the past, why not have Erin, Kelly and David's little sister be one of the regulars? They could have had Kelly's mom die or have a relapse into the world of drugs, and Kelly would have to come back from travelling the world over with Dylan to take care of Erin. It would be interesting to see them interact. Erin was born in 1992, which would make her about 16.

I, too, think that after Luke sees that his career isn't that stellar, and he realizes that 90210 made him the 'side-burn hearthrob he is today, he'll reconsider doing a few guest appearances on the new 90210. ;)

Unfortunately, Jason gave an interview saying that he played Brandon for 263(something like that) episodes and he said there is nowhere left for Brandon to go. But of course he has asked his people to contact 90210's people and let them know that he would like to direct some eppies like you stated.

Once again, Brian stated that 90210 hasn't come to him personally and asked him to reprise his role on the show..so that doesn't necessarily mean that he won't say no if asked. He also said he hopes the show kicks a** so that lets me know right there that he still has a soft spot for the show.

In closing, I think that we should all continue to hold out hope that the original cast will eventually reunite once they realize that ALL OF THEM would not be as popular if they hadn't appeared on Aaron Spelling's little show that could titled Beverly Hills 90210. And Jennie said it best when she didn't hesitate to sign on for the new show: '90210 made me who I am and turning my back on it wouldn't be the right thing to do.'

If Luke Perry's career is going too well to do the show, call Ian Ziering! I loved Steve Sanders, he never got any credit but he was great and stayed with the show till the end.

Seriously, if you have never seen the movie Domino with Kiera Knightley, go rent it. Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Greene both play themselves in it, it's hysterical, well, their parts are, the movie is more action-y than funny.

Tori apparently has written some things about Shannen in her new tell-all book. Shannen says they are lies, something about a physical fight between Shannen Doherty & Jennie Garth back in the old days on set. THIS is the real reason why Tori dropped out, because Shannen signed on after she did and did not want to face the wrath of Shannen Doherty! :-7

Too bad, they used to be pals, who knows what the real truth is.....:-?

I think having Shannen back is a bigger deal than Tori, just my opinion!:D

Watching weekend re-runs of 90210 reminded me of how much a brat Brenda was. Gosh she was rather unlikeable. Her parents put up with so much of her crap. She needed to be smacked down a couple time, by Dylan too, but she always whined her way out of it. Brenda, IMO, was not a very likeable character, I don't know why she was the so called heroine of the show.

Anyway, Brenda matured a little as a young adult in her early college years and was not as much a brat (she came off more as a self-assertive young woman), so lets hope she has matured even further as an adult and doesn't moan and b*tch about everything like she did when she was a teenager, which I can't see happening since this show is about a new crop of 90210 denizens and Brenda and Kelly are more or less filler.

Kelly was rather gullible so hopefully she won't be the bubble head she was portrayed as in her young adult/adult years on 90210. Let's hope not since she is supposed to be counseling teenagers.

What a great show! As I said in another post I loved it! How great was it to see Brenda and Kelly on the same screen again! And to see Nat in the Peach Pit trying to figure out the espresso machine and asking why no one drinks just plain coffee anymore, that was true Nat wasn't it?

I also loved that they have Kelly and David's sister Erin in the cast and they call her "Silver". Just like David was called by the guys (especially Steve) right?

I am going to tune in and see what happens next for sure!

I'm loving it! I LOVED seeing Kelly and Brenda back together again and I loved all the nods to the original series - Nat & The Peach Pit, talking about "Brandon," anyone catch the "Hannah Zuckerman-Vaquez" mention? LOL!
