This is an old thread...I don't feel this way anymore.
I think back in the 90s the original 90210 was 'trendy' too.
Im worried about 90210 being on the CW and no FOX, the old 90210 was great and grown-up like, I hope the new 90210 is more like that and less like Gossip Girl and Degrasi (even though like Degrassi). The new 90210 does have a lot of the same writers and producers as the old one (from what Ive seen) so I expect it to be just as good. maybe???
My only thing is - keep the good relationshipsthe fans like & keep it realistic (thats why Th OC failed it got too 'soap-opera' and unrealistic)

The original 90210 cast didn't dress normal either. They were way more dressed up then we all really were at that age. On the DVD they said the producer of 90210 wanted them dressed that way because he wanted it to be "timeless". (although the clothing still looks dated now anyway). But that is not what we were all wearing during those years. Party of Five and My-So Called Life were a much better representation of how teens really dressed in the 90s. So I was always annoyed at how 'trendy' the original series was back in the day as well.
I really don't think the spin-off will be as good as the original series. But it could still be good. I'm looking forward to it! :)

^I get what you guys are saying, I guess I worded my answer wrong. What I meant is, even watching 90210 reruns today (the early seasons), Brenda and Brandon seem somewhat normal. They aren't freakishly perfect in everyway. :)

I don't mind that the new characters are too trendy. I try not to make assumptions until the first episode has aired. :)

I thought Annie's clothes looked simple compared to the other girls on this show. I also like the fact that the three main girls have their own personal style.
But I'm pretty sure we're going to think they're all fugly by 2020.

^ I agree I didn't think they were too trendy at all. Annie was def dressed down which obviously was to be expected since she is from Kansas. The other girls weren't really dressed up at all only that one time naomi was wearing a suit or something. and I agree in 20 years we will all be laughing at what is currently being worn just like me and my friends laugh at the old 90210's clothes :)

90210 is just like any other prime time soap opera, like the oc or the original beverly hill 90210. Popular crazy girl, girl on drugs, girl with crazy dad, girl with perfect parents... blah blah blah. BUT I LIKE IT! haha its easy to watch and doesn't require much. Its your typical drama, not much else to say about it
