I've wanted to start this thread for FOREVER.

I just ADORE this show!!! I get SO much pleasure out of watching these kids!!! :x They are the CUTEST and SWEETEST little people. I love the subtitles the show gives for these kids when they speak. I love what these kids say. I love how they all have a distinctness and individuality about them even though theyre all connected. I love how every episode focuses on one minute part of the day, showing how one small task could be a huge endeavor.

And I dont know how Jon and Kate are so level headed and so organized but I think theyre super parents or something. The little systems they have implemented are something parents should look into, just neat little tricks on everyday things. I think they punish and parent appropriately and show love and affection just as well. And they have such a great sense of humor! Especially after what they go through daily! Very dry, but funny!

The marathon they had this past Monday, I LITERALLY watched from 6:30-11:30 STRAIGHT! :]#-o I just get such JOY from watching these kids!!!

I watched it the first two years. The kids are adorable but I can't stomach Kate's treatment of Jon any more. And she is so persnickety about the cleaning woman. Gets on my nerves.

Sometimes she can be, I dont want to say a "typical wife" but you get what I mean ;):]. Then there are times, especially when they have the interview/commentary together on the couch and you see how well matched they are. Also there are times where even through the craziness of 8 kids, theyre a team and I love seeing that. Or when they went on their "date" out shopping or had a dinner away from the kids. You see how much they really love each other, it's just that sometimes, they are on two different wave lengths that cause a little tension between the two. But soon enough, theyre back to being them again.

I watch this show when I happen to catch it on, I have a 6 year old and 2 year old so my TV pretty much stays on Disney! But when I can manage a little TV time in my room at night I love when it is on. I had seen when they appreared on Oprah and not long after that I caught their episode of getting ready to go on the Oprah show, my do they have their hands full!!

I know the family/only Jon and Kate have been on Dr Phil, Ellen and Oprah. I missed all 3 %(. I did watch the "Going to the Oprah Show" episode and WISH theyd shown more to that interview. That last picture of Oprah holding one of the girls while all 7 others and Kate and Jon were standing around was very sweet. I've looked on youtube for clips but cant find any :-S

*waves at Em* EEE! I love it too! It's my husband's (who only watches the news on TV) favorite show. We watch it every week. They seem like such a happy family. And I love all the kids (except Maddie who is such a brat!). My fave is Hannah, oh so pretty. :)

I agree! Mady is the "worst" out of the 8. But I cant say I blame her TOO much because it must be really hard with 7 other siblings, 6 of which are still so dependent on the parents. I think it was bound to happen to at least one child.

Alexis is my favourite! :x She's the very motherly one, and she is usually a complete darling except the odd time when she can be a little monster! My favourite boy is the one with the glasses (I think that's Joel). He's the "little professor".

I'm still getting familiar with what name matches what kid. :]

I can watch this show for HOURS. It's sooo cute! :x

The little guy with the glasses is Aaden - my favorite! And Leah is a little lving doll! I too think Maddy is a handful, and sometimes I wish Jon and Kate would handle her differently than saying "oh, that's just Maddy, that's how she is." She getting to an age where there'll be no turning back on that kind of behavior. And I can see Cara doing that stuff a bit now too and what would prevent the little ones from starting if they see Big Sis getting away with it?

But really, I love the show too!

The boy with the glasses said the sheep thing on his day out with daddy, so I guess that makes him Aidan. :]

I love Alexis and her alligator. I've seen that clip a dozen times already.

I love the episode when they go to Utah. And the whole episode is getting ready and then the "hair plane" ride ;):x. When they all have to go through security and just skip through. It's adorable!

I also love the episode when they go to church and then the park for a picnic and then for icecream. They make a REAL effort to do normal and fun things even though it make exhaust Jon and Kate in the end. I thought it was so cute that all the kids can never leave their parents without a million hugs kisses and goodbyes.

I just watched 3 episodes :x.

They were all old. Mady and Cara's 6th birthday where they had a DREAM birthday in Manhattan at the American Girl's store. They saw a movie, got dolls and had a super cute lunch. How lucky they were!

Then the episode of going to a picnic with the doctors and nurses who took care of the babies when they were in NICU.

And then finally Mady and Cara's 7th birthday with Gymboree classes for the sextuplets and then celebrating the twins' birthday.

And I'm taking a little more time REALLY remembering who's who. Yes, now I KNOW it was Aaden who's the little professor with glasses. Collin I could always tell, but now I know that Joel is the Aaden WITHOUT glasses. ;)

The girls, I was always able to tell Alexis and now I think I know Hannah (she's like a girl Collin) so having her down, even if I dont remember what Leah looks like, I just ask myself if she's not Hannah or Alexis, she's Leah :]

I have a bunch of them still recorded on my dvr. They had a marathon a while back and it recorded all of them, most of them all old eppys. I think new ones air on Mondays. Can't remember, the thing automatically records. :)

The marathon was last week and I watched from 6:30-11:30 STRAIGHT! #-o:] I think on Wednesdays the usually have a marathon too. Tonight, there was a mini marathon (4 eps) in between a bigger Little People Big World marathon, of which I caught 3 episodes.

If there was a new one today, it was the episode I missed. But there will be new next week!

How do they afford some of the things they do??? I mean, I know the community helps them, but I doubt with the financial stuff. 8 kids and only one person who brings in the income and yet they still had money to take the twins on an EXTRAVAGANT birthday trip to NY and spend all day at the American Girl store having lunch and buying dolls and watching a movie. :-? Do you think the show pays for all these things so they get a "good" and "entertaining" episode?

I think the show definitely pays them. And probably for the little trips they take. Like for instance, when they were settling their will and planning for who would take care of the children they made it sound as though there was a significant amount of money set aside for each child. I mean how does an IT manager make enough for all of that? Because Kate doesn't work outside the home anymore. She did at one point (she was a nurse) but not for a while. There defo is money from the network.

That's what I'm thinking too. I just dont understand it otherwise.

I wish Jon would smile more. He has a very dry sense of humor and I get he may not be the type, but he just always looks so sullen.

I'm getting confused with Alexis and Leah now %(, but everyone else, I have down pat! LOL!

Dont want to sound too pathetic here, but I just watched 4 episodes. I heard there was a marathon today, but only caught the end of it. It was fine though, 3/4 episodes were ones I'd never seen before.

There was this super funny scene where someone did something they weren't supposed to do and Kate goes into the boys' room and asks who did this? Collin says "nobody did it. " Kate leaves the room and he starts jumping up and down. It's sooo cute! :x

I think Alexis has the cutest smile. Leah is a cutie too. My favorite boys are Aaden and Joel, they are sweethearts. We don't see Colin too much unless he's pushing one of his siblings.:]


Mady is my least favorite. That girl is ALWAYS on the camera saying something.:rolleyes: Cara seems like she's really sweet. Now Hannah I think she's going to be the brat.

^^^ Hannah is the "mothery" one who does all the folding and likes to take care of all the others. Also I think it was Leah who cried for Hannah in Utah on the ski trip "I want my Hannah". She may be a brat, but from what I've seen, she's very kind and gentle and also very shy (she was very scared to go play when the "fun bus" came around, when she had her day with Jon and Kate she was scared to go on the horse...).

I just watched the episode where Kate had her tummy tuck. And they showed the operation! They showed the skin they removed! :-{ But wow, she looks 10000 times better! :] They were still "babies" at the time and still so delicious. They're still learning how to talk so she had to tell them to say "hi mommy". And they were scared because her hair was lighter so they didnt recognize her :x.

You see the 2 sections of skin they cut off! You see them giving her her belly button! You see her innards and what the pregnancy did to them! *shivers*

Really? I think she is so loving and so affectionate! Sometimes she's overbearing but there are those times she speaks so lovingly of her kids and just showers them with affection! She cant be Ms Lovey Dovey all the time. She has to be a parent and well, parent them. And I love seeing that side too. Because she's like that to show she loves them too. But that's JMO.

I have a DVD player that allows me to record onto discs. That's what I use if there is something I REALLY want to watch but am afraid/or if I do miss. I thought I would catch it so I didnt see any point in setting it up just in case. But then I forgot about it and missed it! %(

Fans of the show donate their services. Dr. 90210 paid for Kate to get a tummy tuck after the sextuplets birth. When they went to Utah, all of it was donated by a fan. They do A LOT of speaking at churches all over the nation and those churches take up free will offerings for them. I think because they are so generous with their family other people want to reciprocate and bless them in anyway they can.

I just started watching this year, was on a business trip and watched one of the marathons and started DVRing it. I really wanted to see the tummy tuck one, but somehow missed recording it. I cringed the whole episodes of Jon's hair treatments.

I think both Jon and Kate are doing a great job seeing the individuality of the kids, which I would think would be hard. It will be interesting if the show is on long enough to see how the kids do when they go to school and if the school will split them up into different classroom. I think that would hard for homework time, if the kids have different homework.

I think part of the reason Maddie seems so abrasive is because she acts out to try and steal some attention away from the 'little kids' because they do get so much. I think that's understandable. I like the fact that Jon and Kate give each of their kids individual time.

Oh, I'm so happy that there's a discussion board for "Jon & Kate Plus 8!" I enjoy watching the show and think the kids are so very adorable, and it's so cute and funny that they all resemble the father. I give much props to Kate for her systematic way of managing the household, and to Jon for managing to stay relatively laidback and bringing humor to the occasional chaotic situation.

I thought it was so clever and so sweet to sing happy birthday individually. I would never think to do that and yet I think it makes such a difference than to rather sing one big one for the group. It was also a very cute theme (carnival) and it was executed well. I love how Collin notices his mom's nail polish and tells her she's pretty :x when she went to the spa for mother's day.

Ella, I watched the episode last night where they all go to the trains too! I know there was a first episode where just Jon and Collin went to the trains, but this one had Thomas in it so I think this is what you were referring to.

I didnt know this but apparently they get 2.5 million viewers per episode and is one of the most popular reality shows on tv!

The DVDs are available online at the Discovery website if anyone is interested! They wont be available in store until the fall. If anyone buys, I'd be curious to know how the extras are!

I love this show too. I remember my cousin making me watch a marathon of Jon & Kate Plus 8 shows and I was hooked from the first minute. Those kids are beyond adorable. They are gonna be gorgeous when they are teens.

I don't think Jon is gonna have any hair left when his daughters start dating boys.

I watched!!! It was 9:15 when I realized I was missing it! I caught the end when they were looking at the property and then went to the beach house (which is BEAUTIFUL by the way!).

The second episode with the horses and the lighthouse was sweet! Leah was cute running up the stairs on her own! It was a far climb though....I was very impressed the little kids did it!

And then the next episode with the boys day out golfing :x:x. Buying those little putters and then they were more amused with climbing stairs :]. Such boys. And when Kate asked if any of them were Tigers! I know she meant Tiger Woods, but I thought it was funny because 2 minutes later theyre climbing the stairs and Aaden says that they did it like tigers :x

They were all episodes pertaining to the vacation I *think*.

They were looking at properties yes. On their drive down, they stopped and looked at two places they had researched previously. They liked the first house except the layout of the rooms was weird (master bedroom in the basement, little kids' rooms on the main floor and Cara and Maddie's room's upstairs). The second property was just a lot of land. But I dont think they liked it at all because it was so far away from "Ci-civi-civilization" #-o:].

While I was out of town, I was lucky to during my downtime when in the hotel watch tv and Jon and Kate Plus 8 were on not one but TWO of the nights :x.

I FINALLY saw the transplant episode and yes it was mighty revolting :-{. I liked Alexis when she asked her dad if he was in any pain :x. I could squish her!

I also watched the new one at the beach house, where they learned how to swim and painted with chocolate. Loved Aiden in the water kicking his feet, but not in the way that makes you swim lol. And when he got chocolate all over himself and started to eat it off him. Awww!

There definitely are perks. But I don't think they're necessarily pimping their family out. I can see why a lot of people would see it that way...but if Jon and Kate DIDN'T do this show, they certainly wouldn't be able to take the kids on vacation...or do half the things they do with the money the show gives them. So if doing the show gives their kids a more comfortable lifestyle, I don't see the harm. :-? The money they're getting from doing this show is setting up a better life for their kids now and in the future.

I never saw the episode a while back when they were going over questions people have had- how they met, where are the grandparents etc etc. I LOVED seeing those old movies of Christmas and their wedding, or when Cara and Maddy were infants. Kate looked beautiful with long hair! If anyone had any doubt that they loved each other, I think this episode was proof! :x

^^^The had a marathon. I dont know if I caught a "special" but I did watch 2 eps. The first I had seen before but the second was new to me. They took the babies to Hershey Pennsylvania Hospital where they were born. Theyd introduced the babies to the doctors before in an epsiode that aired a year before, but this time they showed the babies around inside the hospital where they slept in NICU, wheere Kate stayed, where they stayed after the babies were born etc etc. It was sooo cute (isnt it always? :x). When they were showing the babies the incubators of where each one of them lay, they were so interested and curious.

Fun fact they told us, they picked out the names of the babies before hand. I dont know how they knew the sex of each one but anyway. They decided as they came out, theyd despense the names alphabetically. So Alexis was first (A). Hannah second (H) and Leah came fifth but alphabetically (L) it was last. Same with Aaden (A) who came out third but first of the boys, Collin fourth (C) and last last was Joel (J). So had Collin come out first of the boys, he would have been Aaden. I think thats so fascinating. All the names of the babies fit so well. I couldnt IMAGINE Collin being named Aaden, or Hannah be called Alexis. It's like all the names are perfect for who they are. I thought that was pretty neat.

I absolutely adore Leah. I love all of them, but Leah is my favorite. My favorite episode is when they are skiing in Utah and Leah is crying for her Hannah! Jon gives her his gum and she stops crying and goes on with her lessons. I think that Leah is the Cara of the sextuplets. She is good at everything, like Cara!

Kate gets a rap sometimes of being frigid (I know Jon usually does too), but when you see them with their kids just bonding, like Kate putting a bow in Hannah's hair or sitting with Alexis in the dentist chair or Aaden getting an eye exam, you see just how much she loves these kids. It's just that in the midst of the chaos of 8 kids, plus editing rights to TLC, there is BOUND to be yelling and arguments, and it often overshadows the softer sides of them.

Did anyone catch the marathon?? It's still going on! I saw the camping in the backyard episode. That was adorable! They were so excited to do this "adventure" in the backyard. But holy moly! It was POURING!!! I would have NEVER stayed outside, I would have just postponed it to the next night! And Kate's such a neat freak/germaphobe, it was weird to me how she didnt care 2 of the girls were DRENCHED in the morning, considering how easily they could catch a cold and spread more germs. OY and Joel eating his glow stick #-o:]. Still a cute episode!

And then the boy getting potty trained episode, also where Leah and Collin go to the eye doctor. I think Collin WILL have a droopy eyelid, even if it's not so bad now. It's very noticeable and he may get self conscious about it. Aaden was such a cuter potty trainer! He'd wave at Jon in the morning on the potty! :x

Oh and the crayon factory one where Aaden says one of my favourite lines: "I want those gubs mommy". And then Kate corrects him: "GlOVes" :]

I FINALLY at LOOONG last saw the episode of Mady's Day. It was nice seeing her as a brat....for at least half the episode (:|. She does need more love and attention. She is feeling the brunt of having 7 other siblings more than anyone else. I do feel sorry for her, because I could potentially see myself the same way- crying out for more love. Although I was never one to act out the way she does, 2 other siblings was at times hard for me to share the love, I cant imagine what it would be like with 7.

She is bratty and she is annoying but I dont think it's wrong either, because in all honesty, it cant be easy.

I just read the story in people so cute. Although they called Hannah Leah is the picture of her looking at the cake with Kate. Also they had Hannah as the youngest girl when Leah is the youngest girl.

I watched an episode this morning where Jon and Kate wanted to bring in some of Jon's Korean heritage to the kids. When the kids were fighting about who is more Asian, I swear I LMAO :]:]:]. That was like me and my siblings when we were growing up, fighting over stupid stuff.

emlem25, the Good Housekeeping article was nice, it had some pictures and an excerpt from Kate's book Multiple Blessings which was about when she and Jon found out at an ultrasoud that they were having more than 1 baby. The magazine article is about the kids, their schedules, time alone as a couple, how the show got started etc.

As for adopting the baby from Korea, I think the article said that that's out bec. if you have over 4 children already, you cannot adopt from that country and of course they have 8.

Her hair looked BEAUTIFUL! I am SO glad she had a hairband on to keep most of it away and down.

Those little girls were precious! They had their hair done too but they have such straight hair, and plus the heat, it probably ruined their curls by the end of the night.
